Timmy, Justin and Nathan discuss the pending demise of, as well as their relative sadness about ham radio accessory company MFJ after 52 years of operation.
LOL, I had 945D tuner exactly like Nathan described. Opened it up, soldered all the taps on the coil. and it worked very well. I think all the cheap stuff out of China was the death of the MFJ company. MFJ's niche was always selling "cheap" merchandise that most hams could afford. Like them or not, they knew how to keep costs down and sell cheap. But in todays market, the impossibly cheap flood of equipment out of China is impossible to compete with. In the last 30 years I've bought and sold tons of MFJ stuff, and the vast majority was perfectly fine. I will miss them, 73 K9ZF
Mfj had great run with amateur radio gear, good or bad, an we have seen with Heathkit, Browning, an not let us forget ( be honest), how many started out with radio shack parts an equipment, this stands the same as its getting harder to find good technicians to work on the equipment, as to look at how the amateur radio has not gained many new hams, to the hobby, or new have been chased off by SAD HAMS.

Still loved the products. Never understood why, but I liked it.
