Enjoying the content young buck. I feel like I need to caution you about trying to go from this to Pink Floyd or The Beach Boys Pet Sounds. I don't think that's what you're looking for bruh. I see how your mind was blown after experiencing Abbey Road and The White Album, and that made you want more of that, and you wanted to deconstruct that and go back to the beginning. That's how come Led Zeppelin hit you so hard. Pink Floyd ain't it for you, I'm just telling you. Even the hits and the earworms are depressing, and the songs in between all run like 8-15 minutes long. And if you go to the beginning, you're dealing with practically a whole different band with Syd Barrett. Trust me, it will leave you sad, confused, and frustrated. And for the love of God, don't make Pet Sounds your first Beach Boys album. If ever there's a time to start from the beginning with a band, it's with them. It might actually help you out to check out some earlier "Surf music" hits to get a better understanding, like Jan and Dean, and Dick Dale. The Beach Boys were definitely the mac daddy's of the genre, but it was a thing before they were, they just had Brian MF'ing Wilson! You know what I think you should do next is Jimi Hendrix, unless you've already listened to all his work. I'm sure there's an album though that you haven't listened to all the way through, like Axis Bold as Love, or Electric Ladyland. But if you didn't want that hard edge that I think you do, and you want to continue to deconstruct The Beatles, maybe you check out Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and The Supremes. And right before they Released Help!, The Beatles met Bob Dylan, who introduced them to cannabis, and they were so floored with his lyrical ability, it completely changed their entire way of writing music. So checking out Dylan might be a good idea also, but I have to caution you again, because he ain't hard like Zeppelin, but he was an enormous influence on both the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix especially, as well as practically every other musician on the planet. And between those three especially you get a sense of where 60's rock was heading. I'm not lying when I say I'm enjoying your trip you're on here man because I got so much advice I'd love to give based on what I've seen. You called it when you said yesterday was best song of album. Considered one of the best they ever made. Probably top 3 for most popularly known if not number 1nice job man

As you could tell from Beatles for sale, John was tired and depressed…I’m a loser…I don’t want to spoil the party…baby’s in black. Help! was him crying out for help in real life.
Then he discovered LSD and he checked out for a little bit, writing Lewis Carroll nonsensical lyrics for a little bit, writing introspective tunes, and then finally meeting Yoko who allowed him to be himself for a change-and in his first two solo albums, he poured out his inner feelings. It wasn’t until Double Fantasy when he finally became comfortable with his own music and found his stride again. Really sad to see his life cut down at that point. Tragic.
I think I like the Anthology version better. Between John's vocals being a little more raw, the removal of the cheesy horns and "Paul's broken a glass" I feel like everyone should give that version a listen

Wow! Help is hands down one of my fave Beatles songs, & it's nearly impossible to have fave Beatles songs! I love that you are discovering the remarkable Beatles. Thank you, you've made my day.
It's been a favorite since I was a kid. I remember listening to the 45 over and over on my friend's front porch with a cheap turntable we dragged outside.
I really enjoy your reactions and unlike most other reviewers, you don't feel obligated to love every song - even if some listeners disagree. Keep telling it how you see it - great comments. This album must be the English release. The American version had a different song order and several different songs.
You are reacting to the most iconic band of all time. I’m sure you have gained many subscribers because of this. I respect you for reacting to the Beatles, your honest opinions of someone your age is appreciated.
I love your reaction to “Tell Me What You See” I literally reacted the same way once I heard those harmonies.. love that part and I’ll always go back to that song just to hear those amazing 3 part harmonies! I feel like they didn’t want to repeat it for a third time cause of repetition so they hummed it instead but just sounds just as amazing. Love that song! Big up the Paul, John and George harmonies.
Darius, I’m glad this channel was recommended to me and that you’re getting success. The energy you bring to your reactions and actual insight into trying to figure out the meaning of the songs is wonderful. Keep it up bud, excited to see more. EDIT: Can’t wait to see the Rubber Soul reaction, it’s my personal favorite album.
I think George totally steps up on ‘You Like Me Too Much’. The changes on that song are crazy. I love that song and your reaction knocks it out of the park. The arrival of George is right on.
Ok I’m just going to put it out there and I hope someone can talk me out of this. I am a huge Beach Boys fan. HUGE. But there’s no doubt about it - while Pet Sounds is a perfect album (except maybe ‘Sloop John B’) - a lot of their albums are so spotty that I’m not sure that you’ll have the patience for them. So many are just collections of songs while, especially as you go along, Beatles albums are conceived as albums if you know what I mean. Even though I personally think Smile might be the greatest 60s album period (yes yes I know it didn’t get released until the 00s) it may be a little too weird for you. Or maybe I’m full of sh-t and you’ll love it. So the problem is I am damn near certain there are plenty of Beach Boys songs as good if not better than Beatles songs, their quality control is nowhere near as great. On so many of their albums they throw the diamonds and the bullsh-t in together. Also when to stop. There’s just no sense really in listening to anything they did after ‘Beach Boys Love You’. I want you to hear and love The Beach Boys as much as I do but let’s just say the logistics are problematic. Pink Floyd ? Seriously ? Someone out there wants to see you sit through ‘Ummagumma’ or ‘Atom Heart Mother’ or - god help us - The Final Cut ?? Once again, I love the band. No one needs to sell me on them. I even like two of the three albums I just named but it took years of listening and repetition. I just don’t think they’re reaction video material. A person needs to build their own personal relationship with Pink Floyd - kinda like God I guess - and as a public display, I really don’t think it’ll work. Prove me wrong on both points Darius and I will be happy. To me it seems like a no brainer. The other side of the Beatles coin is the Stones and that’s that. Maybe you already know the Stones or you don’t like them - which I consider crazy but it’s your constitutional right - but they’re the only band that rivals the Beatles in terms of fame and relevance. When I was a kid growing up, the whole world was divided into Beatles or Stones people. Everyone else was second place. I was a Stones person. They were meaner and uglier which is not to say they didn’t record some beautiful songs. The Beatles were the good boys and the Stones were the bad boys. I know the world has wiped its mouth since then but that’s how it was back in the ancient days. Maybe not. I don’t want to see you do a band which doesn’t connect with you. Maybe they won’t but it just seems obvious to me.
@@teddydog6229 Right there with you. Don't need full discographies for every band. Hit the classic albums, take the top recommendation or two, and move on if you had your fill. Dig deeper if it really resonates with you, otherwise you got the idea. There's a LOT of stuff out there. We haven't even hit the 70s yet outside of some Zeppelin and there's so many foundational 60s artists left to touch.
hey man! Beatles fan here writing from Argentina. I'm also 24 years old. I appreciate so much that you're reacting to The Beatles entire discography in chronological order, and you'll be rewarded for that. You will understand how much they grew as a band and as human beings too, experimenting a lot with new sounds, even creating new styles of music that diidn't exist before. Thank you for doing this man! Subscribed. Beatles for ever!
One of the things i appreciate, you recognise how young The Beatles were when they recorded this. There are lots of 20-somethings who've written great songs since, but in terms of what went before, they weren't starting from scratch. For me, the title track is still my favourite Beatles track. It's the song, sadly, that i really relate to.
When The Beatles first appeared on The Ed Sullivan show, February 9, 1964 -- their first national exposure in the US -- Ringo Starr & John Lennon were 23, Paul McCartney, 21, & George Harrison, 20 (2 weeks shy of 21). That's how VERY young they really were!!! They disbanded in 1970, before any of them had turned 30, and all went on to have successful solo careers. But in their few years together, they created a musical catalogue worthy of their title as GOAT among all the other GOATs you could name.
I'm so happy you listened to this immediately after Beatles For Sale, that album is rough and this one helps you remember why you love the Beatles as well as look forward to more!
i've always interpreted "you've got to hide your love away" as john being desperately in love with someone who doesn't reciprocate his feelings and his inability to let it go, even though everyone in his life wants him to. that song has really grown on me as i've gotten older. i'm so glad you ended up enjoying "act naturally." yes it's a cover, but it fits ringo so so well and he sounds great on it. another great reaction!
Dizzy is a Banger! Help is the beginning of the domination! One great album after another. Just when you didn’t think it was possible they would surpass themselves and go higher. Why? Because they were Geniuses!
Help is a great song and tune...Yesterday is a beautiful, constructed flowing reflective truthful story of life...human life, near perfection. Love your insight into their music and the expectation that you have and others have of your life and how you should live your life
The tune for Yesterday came to Paul in a dream. He woke up and spent a couple of weeks asking everyone he knew what song it was, and nobody had ever heard of it. He used "Scrambled eggs" as a placeholder when singing the tune originally, and wrote the lyrics later. Who else writes some of the world's most iconic music in their dreams?!
Hey man, loving the reactions! Make sure you listen to The Beatles '1' album at the end of this so you can listen to all their singles! For some reason, they never included their singles on their albums, so you're missing out on their best songs!
Hey Darius, love your reactions and your analysis. One thing I want to point out is that only Paul and Ringo were Knighted by Queen Elizabeth, which "allows" them to use the word Sir in front of their names. Ringo prefers not to be addressed as Sir. John and George were never knighted. All four Beatles were appointed as Members of the British Empire in 1965. John Lennon famously returned his MBE in 1969, in protest of Britain's foreign policies. Had John not been murdered, it would have been interesting to see if Queen Elizabeth would have offered Lennon a Knighthood, given his previous renouncement of his MBE, and whether Lennon would have accepted it, had a Knighthood been offered.
Great reaction! When the Help album came out in America, it only contained the first 7 tracks, mixed with some instrumental stuff. All the other songs were on the English version, I think. Yesterday was just a single in the US, and it was a huge hit.
More info bro about the Help! album here I go! Help! (Released on August 6th, 1965, released in both mono and stereo) Side A: (7 Tracks) 1. Help! (Recorded on April 13th, 1965) (*) 2. Yesterday (Recorded on June 14th and 17th, 1965) (*) 14. Dizzy Miss Lizzy (Recorded on May 10th, 1965) (*) These singles were made #1 in both UK and in the US!!!
The story goes that McCartney heard the melody for Yesterday in a dream and woke up with it stuck in his head. He asked around if people had heard the melody stuck in his head, but know body had heard it. So he figured that he had dreamed up the melody himself and wrote lyrics for the melody.
Help' was pivitol! New maturity in music..I feel this album was another level in their sound and banging vocals and they changed ...its magic ! 🪲🪲🪲🪲🍏💜💚💛
Forgot to mention with Baby's in Black. John called it their waltzing song and if you watch it live at one of their concerts in the U.S., you can see them waltzing. as a joke. A Hard day''s Night movie is considered a classic but Help is a lot of silly fun and it's in color. Rubber Soul and Revolver is certainly going to be a new phase, but I love each phase of the Beatles musical progression: early for the sheer joy of youth and introducing a new sound to the world; middle, for their maturing, folky and highly experimental sounds and firsts; their last period: for their beautiful lyrics and sophisticated musicianship.
I NEED YOU, is the first song George had written about his upcoming wife, PATTI BOYD. He also wrote, If I Needed someone, Something, For you blue, about her as well. Then she married Eric Clapton, and he wrote LAYLA, Wonderful tonight, Bell Bottom blues, and other songs about her as well. SHE IS THE MOST POPULAR MUSE IN MUSIC HISTORY, and it all started here.
You can clearly see they still got a folksy vibe from Beatles for Sale(influenced by Bob Dylan) but they are now making a bit more complex and diverse music, and adding more instruments, that will be the trend from now on 😁
‘The Night Before’ is in my top 10! Fucking obsessed. ‘Another Girl’ isn’t far behind for me. Paul has those sneaky gems that tell the story of how his relationship with his girlfriend was changing as he became more famous than her. ‘Yesterday’ is probably the signature Beatles song. Paul was the only Beatle on it (and it was nominated for a Grammy,) and is the most covered song in history. You’ll love them all more when you see the movie. Can’t wait for your reaction to it lol.
We're not rolling up had me laughing right here 😂 I really love your reactions and Help is sooo good, I love the movie aswell, might even like it better than A Hard Day's Night, but that's just my opinion, I know most say different, it's also so cool they shot scenes in Austria cause that's where I'm from
Just check out that one bit on 'You Like Me Too Much' where George sings (I think) "And it's nice when you believe me" and then John and Paul kick in with "If youu leeeave meee" and George comes back with "I will follow you and bring you back where you belong...". I'm not a musician so I don't know if that's called a transition or seagueway or what but I freaking LOVE that part ! Right up there with John's "I nearly died !" in No Reply. Just another all time peak Beatle moment for me. Benton Harbor Darius ? Small world sir. My best friend lived with his now ex-wife in that town right across from you. The lily white one ? This happened before you were born but a black kid - about 14 - got murdered over there in Whitesville (sorry I can't remember the towns name) and the people in Benton Harbor were furious because the sheriff over there did just about the worst investigation ever, short of never leaving his office. Of course his inlaws said you all in Benton Harbor were making a mountain out of a molehill - if a dead child is ever a molehill - and I think he said Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson showed up and it was a big deal nationally. I never forgot the name Benton Harbor after that. Do you know the case or if anyone was ever finally arrested for it ? And then most likely aquitted ? It's good to put a real face to Benton Harbor and also have it be one of my favorite RUclips channels.
Youve Got To Hide Your Love Away was partially about how in the early days the Beatles were told to hide their girlfriends from the public, since lots of their fans were teenage girls the managers thought if people knew they had girlfriends it would affect sales, the track is mostly just John venting his frustrations with that
Ticket to Ride is more appropriately titled "Ticket to Ryde". Ryde is a seaside town in England and a popular summer destination. His girl is going away to Ryde for the summer. Paul said: "My cousin Betty and her husband Mike Robbins were very influential on me. I would say to John on this occasion, lets hitch hike somewhere. He would play along so we ended up going down to the Isle of Wight, Ryde where they had a pub. They were always running pubs so they moved around Reading and various other places. So we wrote Ticket to Ride there with the play on words. Ryde was spelt R-Y-D-E and we spelt it ride.”
double drop for the win ! I hope you'll do reactions for solo beatles albums as well, for me George's "All things must pass", Paul's "Ram" and Band on the run" are my favourite albums by beatles members. Also don't forget that there's tons of Beatles songs that were only released as a single and don't appear on any albums !!
I agree. Had those singles appeared on albums, it would have made those albums even stronger. Imagine Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields rightfully being placed on Peppers.
@@idontwant2beasoldiermama241Paul and George’s albums are better musically though. John got very boring post Beatles when it came to the music and experimentation
They had no time to make an album for Beatles For Sale, that's why so many covers. I definitely would have Leave My Kitten Alone, another cover, instead of the Mr. Moonlight cover.

Seeing Ringo and his band live, this song is a ton of fun.
Man, I can't wait for you to hear Rubber Soul and Revolver. It'll blow your mind. Still does the same to me after hearing them a hundred times.
THIS is where the sound and artistic elements match up. The work of Beatles I worship begins. 😎
“Ringo knew he was the Ringo of the group.” 😅
One of the things i appreciate, you recognise how young The Beatles were when they recorded this. There are lots of 20-somethings who've written great songs since, but in terms of what went before, they weren't starting from scratch.
For me, the title track is still my favourite Beatles track. It's the song, sadly, that i really relate to.
You are raving about Help and im thinking wait until you hear Ticket to Ride...amazing
But in their few years together, they created a musical catalogue worthy of their title as GOAT among all the other GOATs you could name.
back to back videos? Fucking love this
I'm so happy you listened to this immediately after Beatles For Sale, that album is rough and this one helps you remember why you love the Beatles as well as look forward to more!
Help and Yesterday are truly some of the best songs ever written ngl
Darius just vibing to the opening track was hilarious 😂
Just discovered your channel and it put a smile on my face. Loved your reaction man!
It's been fun, and touching, to take this journey with you, Mr. Darius.... 😋
i've always interpreted "you've got to hide your love away" as john being desperately in love with someone who doesn't reciprocate his feelings and his inability to let it go, even though everyone in his life wants him to. that song has really grown on me as i've gotten older.
i'm so glad you ended up enjoying "act naturally." yes it's a cover, but it fits ringo so so well and he sounds great on it. another great reaction!
started my shift on beatles for sale, finished my shift on Help! 😂
'Yesterday' is considered to be one of the most covered songs ever, according to multiple sources.
Let’s keep it rolling! Rubber Soul!!
You Like Me Too Much always seems to be underrated, so I'm glad to hear positive things about it.
Rubber Soul is in the house......
Great reaction Darius.
Good to see you back. Keep up the great work!
Loved this vid, and it’s so much fun to track how really starting with this album that they were gradually transforming into the real Beatles.
Great reaction! When the Help album came out in America, it only contained the first 7 tracks, mixed with some instrumental stuff. All the other songs were on the English version, I think. Yesterday was just a single in the US, and it was a huge hit.
Love your honest reactions. Looking forward to Rubber Soul
I was waiting for this since last week
There are albums in their brief but game changing careers, and this is one of the top 5 ..in me own opinion 😂❤

This album is good as f
Facts🔥 I'm still debating between this & A Hard Day's Night. I'd probably lean Help! right now I think the high's are much higher
@@lifeofdariius Rubber soul is fire too..
@@TrailerparkrockRubber soul is a masterpiece. One of their best in my opinion.
The story goes that McCartney heard the melody for Yesterday in a dream and woke up with it stuck in his head. He asked around if people had heard the melody stuck in his head, but know body had heard it. So he figured that he had dreamed up the melody himself and wrote lyrics for the melody.
The development of the Beach Boys during the Sixties is as amazing to listen to chronologically as the development of the Beatles.
In the 80's, Ringo did a cover of Act Naturally with Buck Owens (the person who originally wrote the song) and it might be worth checking out :)
Double drop! Good day today 😎 you’re starting to get into the most legendary albums ever.
You're about to get to the really, really, good stuff. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.
I am amazed at your Beatles knowledge and your appreciation for their song writing ability. They are a tough act to follow.
You can clearly see they still got a folksy vibe from Beatles for Sale(influenced by Bob Dylan) but they are now making a bit more complex and diverse music, and adding more instruments, that will be the trend from now on 😁
This is the perfect time for you to get into Bob Dylan. Intersecting you Beatles reactions.
Dylan, Hendrix and the Beach Boys are all good recommendations for semi-related/influential mid 60s Beatles context to check out next imo
Help! is the moment of crisis, and Yesterday is the regret from the wrong choices made in the moment of crisis.
Fine reaction! You bring intelligent reflection to your commentary and some unique insight. Cheers!
this album wasn’t my one of my favorites at first either but all the songs grew on me so much after time and my opinion of it is now much higher of it
I found it interesting that you described TICKET TO RIDE as 'heavy'. Lennon called it the first heavy metal song.
On point as always dude. 😎
You put your finger on why Help! was so revolutionary. There had never been a song like that before.
Youve Got To Hide Your Love Away was partially about how in the early days the Beatles were told to hide their girlfriends from the public, since lots of their fans were teenage girls the managers thought if people knew they had girlfriends it would affect sales, the track is mostly just John venting his frustrations with that
NEW UPLOAD YESSIRRR
The first album the Beatles wrote while smokin that smoke. And you can tell in a lot of songs.
Paul McCartney was the same age I am (22) when he wrote Yesterday.
Ringo WAS getting movie offers, and the song was basically autobiographical 😊
double drop for the win !
John Lennon albums will hit this man much harder as that is all about hauntingly beautiful songs, great lyrics and great atmosphere.
@@idontwant2beasoldiermama241Paul and George’s albums are better musically though. John got very boring post Beatles when it came to the music and experimentation
@@ewest14
Wrong, he's arguably the best
@@idontwant2beasoldiermama241 John has good songs and albums but I’m saying the music itself got boring and less experimental
I can't wait until you watch the movie. It's my personal favorite flick they made. Plus you can see how baked they were through the whole thing
The album "Help!" was probably their apology for "Beatles for sale" 😂
they started smoking cannabis
I love "Beatles For Sale." No apology needed as far as I am concerned.
@@billpattersonjr.1705 Yeah, I enjoyed it, but it was a step down from AHDN...
They had no time to make an album for Beatles For Sale, that's why so many covers.
I definitely would have Leave My Kitten Alone, another cover, instead of the Mr. Moonlight cover.
@@IsaacWale2004So evidently you were born with a hearing impediment, that’s so sad.
You are just a DELIGHT!!! Serotonin in human form…🌟
