‘Things We Said Today’ is in my top 10 favorite Beatles’ songs. Some of Paul’s lesser known songs are the gems for me, and they sneakily get darker as the relationship with his girlfriend at the time changed (more to come.) Also, Paul and John may have lead certain songs but they wrote most songs together and sang a lot of them together. For instance, on the title song, that’s Paul and John singing together. And honestly, all 3 harmonize in most songs. However, Paul was the driving force, the arranger, and the work horse of the group. He’s a genius. And he has one of the best male voices ever - with a 5 octave range. You should really watch the movie, ‘A Hard Day’s Night!’ So good!

Not only is the album a hard days night fantastic but also the movie a hard Day‘s night is great too. when John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote the song they presented it to one of the producers Walter chanson and he loved it so did George Martin. that opening chord on a hard Day’s night is just amazing the whole song is great the album is great too.
It's an amazing album! This is their first soundtrack based on their first musical movie under the same name directed by Richard Lester, it was filmed in 16 weeks and this was taken after they spent 3 weeks visiting US. Beatles for Sale is next, please!
Really this is John's first solo album, writing 10 of the 13 tracks (He gave 'Happy Just To Dance' to George to sing). When you listen to Beatles albums be aware that they rarely included any of their singles on them. So 'With The Beatles' could have quite easily included 'I Want To Hold Your Hand', 'This Boy', 'She Loves You', 'I'll Get You' and feasibly even 'From Me To You', which would have made it a powerhouse of an album. Those fairly new to The Beatles need to include 'Past Masters Vols 1 & 2' in their listening experience to pick up all the non-album singles they released over their recording career. Great reaction, dude.
Hijacking this comment to suggest listening to the Past Masters tracks in batches according to their release date, similar to how this creator did her Beatles reactions: ruclips.net/video/vCT-PqPTNno/видео.html Listening to those songs in context can give you a better understanding of how the band developed musically over the years. 👍
You might enjoy these songs more if you watch the 'A hard days night' film, which featured a lot of these tracks. It was scripted but had a documentary feel to it and the dialogue feels authentic to their individual characters. The way the film was shot and edited involves a lot of ground breaking styles in presenting a pop act, and for those, like me, who didn't get to see them live, it was the next best thing seeing them on a big cinema screen. When they emptied out the audience we just slumped down in our seats while the fans were ushered in for the next showing, so we watched it through twice, not sure how we got away with it. Don't have big expectations for their 4th album, as 'Beatles for sale' is exactly like the situation they were in for 'With The Beatles', just not enough time to write all new material. In 1964 they did the motion picture as well as two albums, plus additional singles, and more demands for live appearances and interviews, all in the same year. So 'Beatles for sale' had to be filled with more covers once again. The heavy toll on the band shows in a less upbeat tone and is very clear on their faces on the album cover.
I thought I had subbed already but I have now. Starting to love the way you love them. Their music looms large in my funeral rites. We got it down to 3 or, as my daughter says, we'll be there all day. I'm being carried in to King Curtis' live version of "Whiter Shade of Pale" then it's Beatles x 3 mingled in. The after party (or "wake" if you prefer) is going to be awesome, all welcome, East Coast of England. Not yet though...... 😇
Just a shout out to say the "interlude" with "I'll cry instead" was excellent, as it showed the best things about your reactions. honesty and a very intelligent and perceptive "tellin it like it is." You could do without the tambourine, lol, yet you loved John's lyrics so much cos YOU could see yourself having written them from YOUR experiences! The best Art AND Criticism OF Art comes from creating something intensely personal that also serves as a universal touchstone that others can recognize in themselves.
Love your reactions man I relive through watching you what it’s like listening to these albums for the first time because they have literally been life defining experiences for me Keep it up 💪

While John is the main singer on "A Hard Day's Night", it's Paul who sings the parts about "When I'm home/Everything seems to be right/When I'm home/Feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeah!"

Ringo came up with the title for the movie! It was going to be called 'Eight Arms to Hold You." and when the Beatles were done filming, Ringo remarked "That was a Hard Day's Night."

A Hard Days Night is the title to the MOVIE....Go Now watch the MOVIE. Oh yeah, Ringo shows up BIG ( in the movie ) the song is, This Boy and it is also Known as Ringo's theme You Guessed It... IN THE MOVIE. Love the reactions , keep up the good work.
Hijacking this comment to suggest listening to the Past Masters tracks in batches according to their release date, similar to how this creator did her Beatles reactions: ruclips.net/video/vCT-PqPTNno/видео.html
Listening to those songs in context can give you a better understanding of how the band developed musically over the years. 👍
John and Paul were still writing together a lot in this period so John definitely can't take all the writing credit.
😂 Come on, man! That’s a silly statement.
😇
Hard ass album. Can’t wait for rubber soul reaction 🌊
You gotta' watch the movie Hard Days Night. You really get why they were the OG Boy Band.
Arguably the best pop album of all time
You have no idea how happy you and these videos make me, thank you for your service sir!🫡😤
"Tell Me Why" is my favourite on this, but it never gets mentioned much. :)
Love your reactions man
I relive through watching you what it’s like listening to these albums for the first time because they have literally been life defining experiences for me
Keep it up 💪
Great reaction again..
Yessir keep em coming..
This is the most fun I've had watching a youtuber in a while, love what you do!
Having fun with your reactions my friend. ✌️
Good reaction as always. Thanks for putting these out, especially with what you’re going through in your personal life.
The chord that opens A Hard Days Night is the chord that fully kicked n smashed open the 1960s
Paul learned to scream from Little Richard! Check his Long Tall Sally
This album Is the perfect definition of the BEAT sound that characterized them
I love your reactions. You're the first reactor I've seen to really connect with songs like I'll Cry Instead. You're collecting all the forgotten step-children (like There's a Place and I'll Cry Instead) and giving them some fresh attention.
While John is the main singer on "A Hard Day's Night", it's Paul who sings the parts about "When I'm home/Everything seems to be right/When I'm home/Feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeah!"
I saw Paul McCartney in concert in 2019, and he opened with A Hard Day’s Night. It was awesome.
Just have fun! I am enjoying seeing you going on your Beatles journey. It's all good.❤
This I'd their first perfect record.
It's a blast following you on your journey, seeing your enthusiasm and insights plus how you resonate with these songs makes me feel like i'm discovering these albums for the first time again with a different set of ears. Low key look forward to each video drop!
Ringo came up with the title for the movie! It was going to be called 'Eight Arms to Hold You." and when the Beatles were done filming, Ringo remarked "That was a Hard Day's Night."
bad ass album for their early stuff ong
When I first heard these songs I was, well, born late in '59 so. Ofc there was no YT, and I wasn't being tasked with a reaction. But I have to say I'm impressed with not only your insights, but how fast you've become a legit Beatles fan. Some of these songs, I can see you out there fielding them, but you always catch the ball.
I loved your take on "I'll Cry Instead." I also like the word "Ringolessness."
I know, right? No one ever connects with I'll Cry Instead like Darius did. He's collecting all the forgotten step-children (like There's a Place and I'll Cry Instead) and giving them some fresh attention.
