    I loved the look into the future - this is a great video and a great kit to buy your kids if you have more than 1 interested in arduino!
    I may be mistaken but I think the "hall effect sensor" in your right had may actually be an optical sensor - I find them in printers with a wheel printed on clear plastic with printed spokes. The sensor itself is a little IR led and a receiver, similar to an optocoupler and when the beam gets broken by a printed spoke, it pulls the 'signal' pin either high or low. I'm not 100% sure, but close to it :) thanks for looking at this monster kit!

      You're 100% right. It didn't feel right when I was saying it, but as usual I rolled with it :)

      @@AnotherMaker It's no big deal at all - figured I would comment to boost the algorithm anyway :)

      I feel like the algorithm has been listening to all the bad things I've been saying about RUclips lately

      Thanks for watching. I have used those pieces in so many projects

    That's ridiculous how complete it is.
    It took me more than a year to collect most of those (and there's still a few i haven't encountered yet).

    • @AnotherMaker
      @AnotherMaker  4 года назад

      Yeah. There are definitely a few that are on my list to check out soon. The cnc board and that game controller jump to mind.

    MAX7219! I think I need a new power distribution system to power all the ones I have now. They keep glitching out and I'm guessing it's power related since I added the latest set of 4. That was a hefty box of parts. One of everything we need and lots of extras to last!

    • @AnotherMaker
      @AnotherMaker  4 года назад +1

      haha. Yeah. 7219. I blabber a lot :) Part of me wants to try to make a project with every part in the box. Part of me wants to just watch netflix :)

    Its a shame they don't seem to stock the colossus kit any more. I looked on Amazon and their official web page.

    • @AnotherMaker

      Yeah. I noticed that. I think they will special order it

      I did Email the creators of this kit and had this reply...
      "We should be having more Colossus in about 2 weeks or so and you maybe purchase it from our website or eBay. "

    I don't think I've ever seen more than one Arduino in a starter kit. This thing has SIX Arduinos!? Amazing.
    It's missing addressable LEDs though ;-)

    • @AnotherMaker
      @AnotherMaker  4 года назад

      haha. It's insane. The addressable LED is #1 on my list of things to change. They asked for suggestions and I definitely am going to give some in my review.

    But, for a starter kit, I don't see any book.
    The Arduio Uno has a book in it to help you get started.

      Some people definitely feel better with a paper book. For me, that's a bonus. I'm fine with pdfs and websites.

    Is there anything that you think is missing from this? Something that should have been included or there should have been more of like a second this or a third that?

    • @AnotherMaker
      @AnotherMaker  3 года назад +1

      I need to find my original feedback to them but I think the things that I remember were that I thought it should have a true touch screen LCD in there and I also think 433 megahertz are of stuff is really useful in the Arduino world... Other than that, I can't really think of anything

      lol. I break my stuff up in categories like "environmental sensors", "relays", and "IR/RF" otherwise....yeah. I'd never find anything.
