I've wanted to design my own for the longest time and donate them at Xmas time

Yeah this is a good one but there are some that are even cheaper that are kind of nice for starter kits.

That is cool. I was gonna get the pi one for fun. I like the keyestudio cor scheme. It got my wife into coding the sensor hats. Plus they have a mega with 1mB of psram and a 1.5amp 5v port and the same 5v port on their uno.
Bro. In Canada the freenove kit is 75 plus tax and the Grove with extra sensors is over 100cad. There's a non profit makerspace where I live and I gave them like 5 or 6k worth of stuff because they just didn't have the resources for the classes. I'm actually going to teach a beginners course sometime soon with all the stuff I gave them.

The stuff is getting outrageously expensive. I've definitely changed the projects I do worth of cost. There are a few makerspaces up in Canada that I have on my list to visit next time I make a trek through.

@@AnotherMaker we have one in Sydney nova Scotia that is the biggest east of Montreal I think. It's not as active as I'd like it to be. They even have a smithy hut to forge whatever you want haha

@@AnotherMaker I meant to say that all the different kits and whatnot I saved up for a large donation for stem learning. The prices went up after literally tripling the 5 or 6 thousand cad I bought over the prior year. Have you seen the license of the teensy 4.1 or the stm32 robot learning board. The stm is like 130 on ali express ffs. It's completely shrunk the scope of my current robotics projects I was doing for the space because they have all the stuff to build the frame and mecanum wheels.
That and a hurricane blew the roof off my house last week.

Great Points.. expecially on the lack of integrating the various sensors and switches etc.. together. It's been a year now , have you found anything which fills that gap?

How'd ya like the keyestudio stuff I sent? They have a whole new suite of easy to use stuff for kids. If you hit them up dan they'd send ya it. I forget what it's called. It's not on Amazon.
I'd pay extra for a print of the pdf. That Grove kit is as much as the free freenove. I want that coding array. I've never heard of them

I love the keyestudio stuff. I used one of the shields for prototyping last week. The Grove stuff has gone up significantly over the past year or two. It used to be crazy cheap

I purchased this kit once I saw your video. I have just started experimenting with the kit. I can't seam to find info on the external power supply. Do you know what voltage and current you can use with this board? 12V??
    Thanks for the video

I can't remember. I used usb-c which is probably the way to go. I think everything else would just have to step down the voltage anyway. I could be wrong on that though.

@@AnotherMaker I have done some research and the external power supply in the top right is 9V (9volt battery) to mainly power the motor connections for anyone who is interested.

I hope you reply to this, you have such amazing channel, can you help me to decide between the Ultimate Starter Kit or This one from Freenove, the whole purpose of buying this is to learn how components work and electronic works in general, I know already Python but have no clue on hardware, does wiring and having the breadboard itself help me understand better or is it better to get this one and forget about wiring, I extremely curious, there is no much information online.

I don't really think you would go wrong with either. I would probably lean a little towards the Elegoo. If you already know Python, you might want to consider getting one of the ESP32 boards that runs micropython or circuit python. They are a pretty cheap addon once you get a kit.

@@AnotherMaker So after a lot like a lot of research, I have concluded that I will go for the Freenove Pico, the Elegoo kit has some incredible built quality that you can't go wrong, however, I reviewed both tutorials and the Freenove just has superior documentation, it's important for me to have a good documentation so I can learn faster, in the future if I need new parts I will definitely go for the Elegoo. Also the Pico seems to have much better documentation, I think the upside of the ESP32 is that it has wifi/bt included but I don't think that's necessary for me yet, thanks for your reply though, really helped me!
