LOL that Realistic Stereo Disco Mixer was my first mixer back in 1994. I have a DJM2000NXS now mine is black though. Your is the only silver one I have seen so far. Crazy how technology has changed over the years. Still my favorite mixer of all time is the MTX MX600. What a great mixer and powerful sampler! I got the DJS1000 the day it came out in the USA. I am a sucker for samplers!
These are a very different beast on yet another new level compared to me and my 1210s/S4. I've had it a few years and I still don't use it for anything other than a fix for skipping needles and a scratch tool with some hot cues and the ability to use MP3s tbh - maybe hte odd loop if hte outro is short. Learning curve is just one i don't seem to be able to get over as much as I've read the manual and watched tutorials I just don't get it or how or why I'd bother with half of what it does. Effects, Stems and remix decks and all that. It's like having to learn to mix all over again, pressing buttons without much actual input and it doing it for you. I'm not a fan of using pads used to make beats and add stuff like that, i like the old manual beatmixing and it being about you doing it. This all looked very complicated to my old eyes with his hands zipping about all over it but I don't see how I'd use this in breaks/dnb mixing. I appreciate that there is a market for it and choice is a great thing, props to anyone who can even use half the functions they have on their modern stuff. Its just not for me and I'm ok with that. good to have an honest overview at the end which offers another opinion not necessarily in line with the reviewer's so presenting both sides. Good video.
Id love to see a performance from him now, with the time I'm sure people figured out how to use it and there must be some very interesting performances there
So I’ve been getting back into DJing but with vinyl and I wanted to incorporate a drum machine (my mpc) with it but quickly realized how impossible it is to beat match them properly. I’ve been looking for something that can be controlled eith a pitch fader and seems like this device is the only one that can do it. Now I really want it
If you can mix 2 records adding a groove box is the same thing. Most of the records I play aren't quantized and they work fine with any piece of kit that I use, of coarse I play them live. When I use loops I mix them as if they were another record. The nice thing about the DJS1000 and the RMX1000 is you can set the number of bars you want the loop to be on the fly I'm not sure you can do this on the MPC or any other looper that I know of.
I obsessed over synchronizing the MPC via Midi with my analog gear which was all synched by MIDI. I couldn't figure out the Midi functions on the MPC - I like to only use the start/stop Midi functioon, no mapping. Eventually I learned to synch manually, which took me about a month. I used both a guitar looper pedal to be able to make longer sequences with whatever synth I had at the time, and the MPC and TR8 start/off buttons. Probably the same as learning how to beatmatch with vinyl if not easier, but it requires some art. The beats will eventually drift between the Midi circuit and the MPC, but you learn how to quickly hear it and hit the off/on button and restart the synch loop in a second. Added bonus is that if the MPC crashes - as computers do sometimes - you won't be standing in silence with your * in your hands as you restart.
Is there a standalone sampler you would recommend that can store just a dozen vocal samples & risers? The djs-1000 is overkill for what I'm looking for. (I use Denon 5000's/x1800 right now which don't offer a sample function). Thanks!

You can make instrumentals on there like an akai MPC?
This video helped me allot and thanks for it but before i want to buy this masterpiece i got a few question: I've read that you can use this as stand alone, if i'm not wrong? And can you plug it in your pc and perform with your own pc speakers? (speakers got plugged into pc) Or does DJS-1000 always has to be plugged in right into the speakers/ monitors?
Don't know if you know already. But yes you can work with it standalone and only with headphones also possible. I purchased one yesterday and I am so happy and impressed with it! I love it!
i think a few performers will be able to use this at full potential. But for mainstrem dj,s that play techno and minimal, to add a hihat over an original track on such an expensive gear...just a flex.
I have some doubts regarding Pioneer DJS-1000. I have been using Akai MPCs for a long time. Currently using Mpc 2500/1000/ Renaissance. My concerns 1) How many samples can I use at a time within a single pattern? ( In MPC, for a pattern we can use 16 x 4=64 samples in A,B,C and D banks normally) 2) How many samples can I layer in a single pad ( In MPC I can stack 4 samples with separate Volume, Pitch and Velocity levels)
I have a DJM V10 and 2x VCDJ Nexus 2. On channel 1 I have the DJS 1000. Everything seems fine, but on sampling from CDJ to DJS I only get 1 channel output. It might be a DJM problem, but all works fine. Except the sampling comes from 1 speaker. This is not the case when I connect my headphones into the DJS 1000 directly. ( I am not using any laptop here) The connection seems to be the problem when sampling directly from CDJ to DJS 1000. Any clue what is wrong?
Hey fam can you use this with the Pioneer XDJ RX-3? If not what unit from Pioneer would you recommend that's similar or better than the Pioneer XDJ RX-3 thanks in advance
Wow thats like a studio fx ...when they's able to subtract vocals from a normal track on the fly then call me illegal i know but still , it would be nice ..... anywhere thats not me.... i got to ask one question .. What went wrong with Vestax PDX 2300 Mk2 , to me they invented the first pitch bend ,straight arm an ultra pitch on a turntable ,,,, but Why did they go bust ? Also Thud Rumble's Mixer called..... The Invader... a mixer with a build in laptop , rumoured to manufactured by native instruments , who made Traktor , Any news on that ? or is The New Rane 72..... mmmm
When i die, i wish to go to heaven and hopefully, there will be like an eternal Techno and House club. Rivers of GHB and Acid will flow freely. Trees will give pills as fruits and that party will go forever and ever through eternity. Amem Ps: Funktion One Loud Speakers, sure.
The DJS-1000 have a lot of problems! Toraiz is better! The DJs-1000 the live sampling is not perfect! Every time you must show the position of the beginning of the loop to be in the good point os start! The rec level is so small, and is easy to record very low or too high level. The pattern have a big problem with the MUTE bouton, its men's you can not change the pattern without have a big confusion of sounds (In Toraiz work perfectly the pattern.) Today Toraiz can have samples 2x more big then DJS-1000 The rendering of DJS-1000 is very bad! The rendering make no more of 64steps of sequencer and if you have a EFX, after the last step the sound stop (its men's the rendering is for nothing. (But in Toraiz is perfect and you can rendering a full song). Pioneer lost money putting the name of Toraiz SP-16 because nobody understand this name. Then now they try to sell with the DJS-1000 (better name) but they have a lot of problems. Maybe in the next update can be a little bit better. Ps the User manual is very bad. If you want buy one, take the Toraiz SP-16! It's better! Ps. I have a lot of videos of Toraiz SP-16 and DJS-1000 In my RUclips page
personal preference bro. ;) I tried both and i prefer without laptop. Without laptop i'm much more in the moment, have better feeling of the vibe and rely more on muscle memory while mixing. With laptop i tend to focus too much on details that might even be irrelevant and focus too much on the screen and all the info i can see and it takes me somewhat out of the experience.
I had a ddjsx and my computer broke meaning I couldn't play it. and can cause added problems if it's also a house laptop too. in saying that I bought the new maschine and after hearing nicholas jaar at departamento mix on RUclips I want Ableton and now gonna fork out for a macbook and use it only for music. no downloads or even searching Internet. basically they can cause problems so I understand both sides but using a laptop for everything most use a laptop for and then going play live out with it would be silly as could easy crash. and that's macbook, windows be even more risky for out live.
Come back and say that when you, like me, have had 23 years of error free gigs. Since I got my first CDJ-500's in 1994/95, all the way to the NXS2's I have now, week in, week out. Just flawless performance, every time. Doesn't mean I haven't dabbled with other stuff, and as I've been working with computers since mid 90's, I've tested most combinations out there. First time I got the Rane SL1, it worked just perfect and I played with it for hours. A while later when it was time to use it for an actual gig, the software just couldn't detect the hardware, no matter what I did. Nothing wrong with the hardware or the software, just not together on that computer. As a pro DJ I just can't use gear that I can't rely on working when it's time to perform. There's nothing a computer will add to what I do in the booth, other than the risk of not working. Not for me. In the studio where I prepare, it's a complete other situation, and I love my computers for everything I can use them for as a DJ.
fossil thinking. that's all. play how you like, the listeners don't care about all that crap. heck monst don't even know a $200 dj mixer vs a $3000 dj mixer. although I noticed a few of the folks who used to carry a lot of dj gear are now just doing sets with cdjs and a flash drive since recordbox and 2000s have sync. better to board a plane with just a couple flash drives.
one good reason why Toraiz is failure product because that doesn't fit DJ console like DJS 1000 does. If they made Toraiz like Djs 1000 at the first go without tempo slider even that would be good and second big reason why toraiz is a failure ... Reason Pioneer is not even able to give promised 1.4 firmware update........ and toraiz user waited for a year to get live sampling and for the bug fixes and mute button in pattern save mode doesnt work after 1.4 firmware update came and live sampling is removed from the road map of firmware...... and djs 1000 has that already the mute feature in pattern mode and it is not hardware restriction mute feature... I appreciate the honesty of his review. not made for all DJ's mostly for the DJ/producers
What Mojax says at the end is exactly why he is one of the most trusted product reviewers in the game.
The thing I like most is it’s exactly the same size of the CDJ’s and it fits perfectly within that environment
5:44 starts the actual demonstration
yeah you tell me something ;)
Thanks for this accurate and honest review Mojaxx ! 👍
Omg that hoodie!!!

Always Learn Your Gear!
Want to use these in place of cdj. Play normal legnth tracks with them. With a rotary mixer.
Id love to see a performance from him now, with the time I'm sure people figured out how to use it and there must be some very interesting performances there
Nice machine..I have yet to see that one nor the first one in person.
respect for honest review ! btw i agree with u
that hoodie is epic and making me want a burger and a cat
I would love a DJS-1000

Find a used Roland mc-307. It has pitch bend fader like cdjs and has a sequencer and samples with all the classic drum machines.
It’s like a remix deck in Traktor or Ableton’s session view
Disappointing about the omission of the Prophet-6 analog filters that was a big draw of the Toraiz
Mojaxx my man where can I get that hoodie
Can it play MP3s and Wav files? Remixing a track live would be a plus

@@waltervooys6338 Nice thx for answering =)
@@Madrush1 no problem. I going to do my own video about this beats! On my other channel.
Now you have the sounds double?
On 2 channels, i don,'t undeestand
i think a few performers will be able to use this at full potential. But for mainstrem dj,s that play techno and minimal, to add a hihat over an original track on such an expensive gear...just a flex.
yeah? what about remixers and producing your own tracks? the world doesn't revolve around DJs who want to save money on tools
Thanks !!!
remarkable 🎁
Great video
"NEVER" WEAR THAT TOP AGAIN
Esos buzos que usas mojaaxxxx
What I would do for a video of someone who is fluent with the djs1000
Hi how you doing Mojaxx I just want to know can you use the DJS-1000 with the DDJ-1000? Thanks for any info. Love your videos.
Can I just use this with my Akai MPC one and load songs into the DJs 1000 ?
it's a sampler bro. if it's audio it can be sampled
Dope🎉🎉🎉😮
that looks ace! does akai do one simillar or better?
does akai sync up via Pro Link? No
COOL
I have some doubts regarding Pioneer DJS-1000. I have been using Akai MPCs for a long time. Currently using Mpc 2500/1000/ Renaissance.

please show the link to djm 2000
Dope yo!!!!
Can I combine the djs1000 with the controller DDJ-1000? CAN it sync through rekordbox or pro link with the controller
one word ,the ddj 1000 got it all
it might be a stupid question but does it work with dj controllers like ddj sz or rzx
dejay willy no
Err...YES IT DOES! Ddj xz
Can I used a Controller to Synchronize with this or A Midi Cable dont have the Dj Link
Hey fam can you use this with the Pioneer XDJ RX-3? If not what unit from Pioneer would you recommend that's similar or better than the Pioneer XDJ RX-3 thanks in advance
no rx3 only pro link capable decks like the xz for example. also you need a proper mixer extra channel and send return aux type connections
or it will work as a standalone unit u can use it like you would a turntable as far as BPM sync goes
Is that a green diaclone dinobot snarl behind you?
smsno1 Transformers G2. They did all the Dinobots in weird colours, there’s a blue Grimlock and stuff too.
MojaxxVDJ yes. I wave a wall in my music room with about 1000 of them
does the djs 1000 works with a denon sc5000 full set ?. anybody ....please tell me before spending lot of cash
Wow thats like a studio fx ...when they's able to subtract vocals from a normal track on the fly then call me illegal i know but still , it would be nice ..... anywhere thats not me.... i got to ask one question ..

So it's a no go for vinyl?
James Smith This one is fine with vinyl (or anything) because you can mix the DJS-1000 like any normal deck. The SP-16 isn’t so flexible.

Works great with wax.

You're better off mixing good (well picked) tracks than layering drums & samples. It will only sound as it is: improvised
burn that fckin hoodie, bro
these things are fun but it can never be better that the best tracks, if you have to embelish your sets to this degree your not playing good enough tracks
Seems He doesn’t even know how to use it .
lmao
This is the worst walkthrough ever
you’re not a dj if you don’t use turntables period.
