I got pretty good at cue-point juggling on CDJs. - but I did start to wish I could do more sophisticated remixes. - loads of DJs will sample tracks & create their own custom transitions in a DAW. - The DJS is really cool but it seems to lack a critical control - the platter. - I do not reply on sync, I am constantly cue jumping and having to touch the platter. - this kinda reminds me of mixing on Traktor where I needed to beat grid all my tracks & use that silly strip to nudge. - I guess most DJs these days arent DJs at all but producers & I guess this is just the way things are going.
You prolly dont care but does someone know of a way to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost my login password. I appreciate any tips you can give me
@Adrien Kameron thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
I would love to see a simpler version of this at around the £300 - £500 price point, lose the production capabilities and make it a proper stand alone sampler that links with the nexus range.
Yeah I hope the next version will come out with is loaded! If you put the MPC live standalone doll in a machine like this. For the same price range. I think it would sell like hotcakes! The hydrasynth interface is awesome. And I don't know why somebody like what pioneer has with this product doesn't make an interface where you have buttons that you can click multiple times and hit subpages. I mean if I was pioneer I would make a sampler version drum machine version and a synth version of this. I mean this form factor is unbelievable! I still go back to this for the sp16 over everything that I've got just because of how intuitive it is. If the DJ has had the filter and the track arrangement function. You could get all kinds of crazy with this thing effortlessly. What pioneer has come up with here it's kind of like when Xerox had the mouse and the user interfacing everything and just gave it away. I can't believe somebody's not trying to capitalize on this kind of user interface for a sampler or any other kind of product this not a DJ kind of a product.
I wish this kind of technology was around when I was djing in the 90s. Very accessible and easy to use tondo remixes on the fly. I have maschine that does a lot of this but not so accessible on the fly.
Aloha Jamie, I record live audience responses for my sets. I have been using the MPC Live for this, but I have been a little frustrated with the way the MPC works, especially the low volume. I am using a couple of small condenser mics on a large boom. Maybe I need to have a different set up for capturing the audience, but I was wondering if the DJS-1000 might work better than the MPC Live. Appreciate you taking the time to let me know what you think about this. Just noticed that I asked you about this a couple of months ago. Maybe better if I email you for a reply. Thanks.
As usual another great video. Love you guys! I use a lot of audience response that I record live onto my MPC Live and playback through my controller. Seems like this unit might be better for this operation. Thanks, DJ Mr Robot
The integration with the Nexus 2 kit along with the live sampling piques my interest. However, I think it’s a lot of money for just a “sampler” with very little production capabilities. If you can up with a pattern that you thought would have potential you would have to copy them to Ableton to arrange it.
I have a DJM V10 and 2x VCDJ Nexus 2. On channel 1 I have the DJS 1000. Everything seems fine, but on sampling from CDJ to DJS I only get 1 channel output. It might be a DJM problem, but all works fine. Except the sampling comes from 1 speaker. This is not the case when I connect my headphones into the DJS 1000 directly. ( I am not using any laptop here) The connection seems to be the problem when sampling directly from CDJ to DJS 1000. Any clue what is wrong?
So dumb question I’m Finally in a financial spot to get into this hobby like I’ve always wanted to do I’ve been around it since I was a kid but now I’m finally ready to make that jump I am looking at this machine and also comparing it to Elektron Analog Rytm MKII can anyone tell me what machine I should invest in? I know they’re pretty different but price wise they’re right around the same and no one can seem to tell me which they would prefer
If you’re still at the hobbyist level and aren’t concerned strictly with playing in a club environment, get the octatrack. This is for DJ’s more than for producers. It fits a niche for both but this is made for a club setup.
So it won’t be able to link into the XDJ RX2 and sync the tempo so you will have to manually beat match the djs1000 into your set. This isn’t an issue as it has a tempo adjust and nudge controls. It would be a case of sending the rca out into the aux of the XDJ RX2. As for the send and return for live sampling you would have to get rca to 1/4inch jack cables and go from the xdj RX2 master 2 into the djs1000. The downside to this is that you would need to make sure your master level is nice and loud. It will all work but it’s not as smooth as going into the CDJ/DJM set up.
You would have to just run the rca out into the aux ok the XDJ-RX2. Means you would have to manually beat match it into the XDJ-RX2 but that’s easily done with the tempo adjust and nudge controls.
Hey nice video I’m a music producer owner of an mpcOne and a Roland mv in the past I owned the maschine studio. And I am interested in the dj world and starting playing my beats live. I’m a percussionist newly into finger drummer and wanting to dive into dj world also I’ll have around 1000$ to spend next month and I’m looking at this. The akai force or the Roland dj decks
Hey fam #crossfader can you use this with the Pioneer XDJ RX-3? If not what unit from Pioneer would you recommend that's similar or better than the Pioneer XDJ RX-3 thanks in advance
Sadly there is no sync feature on the CDJ-900. The only way to get sync would be to use the decks in HID mode with Rekordbox or Serato and activating the feature in the software
hello I intend to buy a controller dj roland 808 and by pure hazard I stumble on your tutorial. please what can connect the PIONEER DJ - DJS-1000 has a controller dj and take control from the controller? or the opposite..thanks and greetings from algeria
How do you use the link feature if you have 4 CDJ's? I have the DJM 2000NXS, 4 CDJ 2000NXS's, a DJS 1000, and a RMX 1000. I have my four CDJ's plugged into the link ports 1-4. I've tried plugging the sampler into one of the link ports for a computer, and that causes one of the CDJ's to act up. Can you help?
Hey! You have near the same dj gear that I have. You need to sell one CDJ if you want to use/hear the DJS1000 connected to the channel you want (1-4). You can't use/hear the sampler at the same time using one cdj in the same channel. Link port and a hub don't work. You need a line connection, that's all. *Try it with midi out from DJS1000 connected to the midi in in DJM2000nxs* Sure you can connect but I think it doesn't works. You need a free line channel. Cheers.
Not sure I get your question but I hope these two videos help you clearing stuff up: ruclips.net/video/VLjuwNLW3fw/видео.html ruclips.net/video/xFHbgeWVNH8/видео.html
Can you expand on the Thru/Output 2 functionality? The manual doesn't cover it but I get the impression that it can be used as a direct pass through of the source material without the use of a Through track on the DJS-1000. Is that the way it functions? It seems like it would be ideal in a 2+2 setup with each CDJ feeding a DJS-1000 but also having its audio passed through to a track on the mixer separate from its respective DJS-1000 output. Is that Pioneer's intention? Thanks!
Its pretty much like Output1 but with Output2, you have the option to listen out the Master or the Input source. You cannot listen to both at the same time, only through headphones is possible.
ILL GREEN Listening to the input source can already be done on a Through track though. Why bother with the extra set of outputs if you can’t set Output 2 as a direct through from a CDJ while using Output 1 to play the master out from the DJS-1000 simultaneously? In a scenario with 2 CDJ’s and 2 DJS-1000’s it doesn’t make a lot of sense to use the Send/Return of the DJM-900NXS2 for sampling since you’d only be able to sample to 1 of the DJS-1000’s and not the other. Are you certain that the outputs cannot play simultaneously? Playing a CDJ through Output 2 while layering elements from Output 1 is far more useful than only being able to play one or the other. It cripples the functionality in my opinion and if only 1 can play at a time I don’t see why Pioneer bothered to add Output 2/Thru when the Through track functionality in the DJS-1000 could be used to the same effect.
I think he means you can't play both input and master through one output. To hear both, you would need to connect both Output1 and 2. But to mix both master and input out through Output1 or 2, cannot be done.
So Im looking to add this to my setup, but i just have the RX2, so no send return. I can still send sound from my RX2 to the DJS, then both out to a small soundboard. Im just not sure i really need the return capability for that much, but im not sure. anyone have any advice?

I mean if someone gave this thing to me I’d gladly play around with it at home. But if I’m going to perform live with a hardware sampler I’m going to use either my Deluge, Octatrack or Force. And even if you can’t beat sync, you should be able to manually type the track bpm into the sampler and hit start on the sampler in time. I don’t think that statement makes me a snob. Let’s just be realistic. Pioneer is marketing this oversized kiddie bike to professional djs and it adds NOTHING to a performance. How big is the internal memory storage and is it expandable.
I just opened mine and measured it there. It's about 5cm long.
Live Maschine Tutorials U foking daft mate?

yes
I will consider trusting Pioneer again when they introduce live sampling to the SP16..
How about a tutorial on live sampling with the DJS-1000?
Can you connect and use the DJS-1000 with a Pioneer controller like the DDJ-1000???
Any one is this possible pls

is there a good workflow with this and an xdj-rx2?

yeah i think that would be fine . i am really looking to be non laptop with my new set up
Can you take samples from tracks from the cdj or usb and convert it on to the unit ?
can I use this with an XDJ-RX2 because I want to add Drum machines with my XDJ-RX2
You would have to just run the rca out into the aux ok the XDJ-RX2. Means you would have to manually beat match it into the XDJ-RX2 but that’s easily done with the tempo adjust and nudge controls.
The DJS is technically like, A launchpad mixed with a CDJ but combined into that product ( NOT trying to be offensive / mean)
how about online set up
For the price point it would just be a better choice to buy a MPC which is great in a live and production setting.
I love it I own one

Hi jamie, can i use DJS 1000 with denon dj prime go especially for live sampling, cause no send and return on denon dj prime go thanks
how would this connect to an sc6000 as denon do not have their own version
This is very similar to Traktors Remix Deck
Mac Joseph dude I've spotted you on many review videos! 😂 Are you actually djing professionally?
Vin Aeoua yes. I was the DJ for the Boston Bruins
Does the USB post interact with rekordbox?
Hey fam #crossfader can you use this with the Pioneer XDJ RX-3? If not what unit from Pioneer would you recommend that's similar or better than the Pioneer XDJ RX-3 thanks in advance
Will this link up with the new Xdj-xz inc send return
Looking for the answer myself!
Yes
Can you use it with the Ddj 1000 or any Ddj series? Like does the sync function work
i feel that it is able because the ddj-1000 has 4-channel capabilities
what does it add more than ddj xp1 or xp2
This is Gliter 💕 Swift
I have cdj 900s (not nexus) and a S7 mixer. Can I still link/sync for live performance? I'm hoping I don't have to upgrade to the nexus'....

Use the Aux function or you need a 4 channel mixer
This thing vs mpc one
Thanks for taking the time to do the video but its certainly not a premium product. Its 2018 and this only does 44.1khz.
Awesome
Doing lots of things... mine is resting on couch for now =)
hi guys can anyone show me how to download samples
Looks good but too expensive for me
Awsome
Wicked!!!!!!!!

Nothing to do with the video
So it’s like a improved maschine from native intrusment…
The Akai Force blows it away. I’ll stick with my Force, Octatrack and MPC LIVE

It be helpful to include a medium size bag of Walter Whites blue crystal to maximize this thing. Just sayin

Feels like it missed the "2010" window
