    Great video. I followed the steps and made this easy, but important change and it made all the difference. I used a carb kit found on Amazon for under $70. I rant the generator for a couple of hours back to back and no issues.

    Where are the other videos?
    What was wrong with the installation?
    Was the carb a good buy from Amazon?
    Need answers now.

    A little tip after removing my carb many times. It's easier to slide the carb off the bolts then disconnect the throttle linkage

      Hey, Glen, yeah, that's a huugely good tip since I have gone thru sheer misery trying to pull-off and put on the linkage whilst it was still on the carb bolts. I've even bent the end of the spring-hook attachment and tried to re-attach it while the carb was on the bolts, and that was not a good maneuver -at all! Thanks for the heads up, and take care!

    The peace that goes out on those is the part under the bowel and they don't sell just that part mine did the same exact thing

    I believe I would of tested the fuel pressure to the carburetor as soon as I unscrewed the carb drain and no fuel came out. If no fuel is making its way to the bowl of the carburetor … that’s the problem. The plug n thing on the bowl probably shuts the gravity flow of gas if the engine isn’t running. If there’s no gas at the carburetor? Work your way to the fuel tank. I doesn’t seem his problem was actually the carburetor. Something restricting fuel flow to the bowl of the carburetor. That’s usually the problem 8 out of 10 times
    The 14 code is because the engine isn’t running right

    Hello
    I have similar problem with mine...
    Why did you write ONLY ONE FUEL FILTER IS NEEDED BEFORE THÉ PUMP ?
    I have a Onan filter just before the pump but i have another one 16 inches before the Onan Filter...

      Why would you need 2 fuel filters?

    • @ggasss

      I just bought it and it's like its ... can its cause the problem?

    • @asphaltadventurer
      @asphaltadventurer 3 года назад

      @@ggasss With 2 filters, possible to be too restrictive fuel flow for the pump to pull gas through the first filter and push it through the second into the carb. You only need one, ideally prior to the pump.

    Is that a crack in the spacer???? That could be a air leak.......

    The actually problem was a simple adjustment of the choke.Yes it is adjustable and you can tell it was running rich(smoke)and because I could see the butterfly was closed .You didn't need a carburetor sorry

      Thank you for your comment! I'm sorry that this video did not get to the solution. This was a rather frustrating troubleshooting process. Here's what was found to be the issue: Fixed! Troubleshooting an Onan Marquis Gold 5500 Generator - Part 3: ruclips.net/video/XmqmIzm4nZA/видео.html

      Thanks for the response and still confused, do I buy a carb or just take it to the shop

    • @randallwingett
      @randallwingett  11 месяцев назад +1

      Good question. I'm not a mechanic, but I did as much as I could myself then took it to the RV shop, twice. The second time is when they found the problem. At least by replacing the carb, I had eliminated that possibility moving along the diagnosis. Good luck!

    That 2nd filter you took off, the flow was the wrong direction....it should have been pointing away from the carb.....that might have been your issue the Entire time

    • @asphaltadventurer
      @asphaltadventurer 3 года назад

      But he tried starting it after removing that second filter near the carb, and it still wouldn't stay running.

    • @tbucket9367

      That arrow points in the direction of fuel flow; towards the carb, as it should be.

    • @jerryberkel8421
      @jerryberkel8421 2 года назад

      @@tbucket9367 I meant the one underneath, the one pointing towards the fuel pump and not towards the carb. Does that rubber line come from the tank or the carb? If it goes fuel pump, to that filter, to the line in the video, then to the carb then it’s incorrect….if that line comes from the tank, then into the filter, then the fuel pump and then to the carb it’s correct. Basically I’m saying to check the flow of the filter underneath at the fuel pump.
