Same here - so what’s your conclusion? I already own Castles of Burgundy, My City, Bear Park.... Although CoMKL looks pretty cool, I feel it may not add anything new? It’s also quite expensive for what it is, at least if you go all-in. What do you think? Looking for advice....
Just ordered a copy of this! My daughters choice as she likes the idea of building castles, but now I’m a bit worried that the pricing phase might put her off. Anyway, I really enjoy these quick reviews, definitely helpful to get a snap shot of different games & the recommendations for similar games. 👍
I quite like Castles of Mad King Ludwig, although recently I've grown to like Suburbia a little more. Simply because it does not have the "pricing phase" or the master builder concept. What's you favourite game among the Alspach tile layers?
Haven't played this yet but the master builder concept turns me off to the game, Suburbia's approach of filling the market and income feels a little better at least in concept to me
Castles of Mad King Ludwig has also edition with beautiful illustrations. International edition, let's be honest, is ugly. Few years ago Polish publisher Planszóweczka decided to release local edition with brand new artwork thanks to crowdfunding campaign. It's so good that many non-Polish players ordered own copy. Ted Alpach was pissed to the point that he refused to license CoMKL expansion for Polish market. :(
came back to watch this video due to the new kickstarter

I’m very into this game recently, can’t wait to try play expansion this week ! 🏰

Very accurate summary - the master builder pricing took ages in the game I played. Really made the game drag.
Barbarian king or BAVARIAN king?
Bavarian I would think
Did your friend ever publish the plans for his delightful lego insert by chance?
Not that im aware of. He's a social media recluse and doesn't really post anything anywhere
@@3MBG No worries, thanks for the response and keep these great vids coming!
I'd love to hear if you still prefer Suburbia to Between Two Castles
Have not yet played Between Two Castles. As I have between two cities and really like it, i just haven't felt the need to get it yet

Yeah, Castles has some real strengths over Suburbia, with its freer placement of rooms and overall aesthetic. But the master builder phase is awkward.
I might actually like this game..solo that is..I'm a lone wolf...lol Where can I buy it?
Weird, its in stock where i am in New Zealand. If you aren't here I have no suggestions sorry
