    Started my company in Texas about 18 months ago. Unfortunately Progressive is the only Insurance company that would take me. After speaking with multiple brokers this seems to be the norm for new MCs around my area. Broker says after my 2nd year of operation I’ll have more options as long as I stay safe.👍 Quite unfortunate about the trespassing though. Maybe they used a drone. Not much better but at least they wouldn’t have actually walked around the property while you weren’t there….

    According to another well-known known RUclips trucker, Progressive is the only company that will take a new authority driver, and, for the first two years it was $18,000 per year. After that it cut in half to about $9000 in his 3rd year, and other companies were cheaper than Progressive. Thanks. 😅

    • @bobblack3870
      @bobblack3870 Год назад +1

      Raising rates is nothing new. That is SOP (standard operating procedure) for nearly all insurers and trash companies and some electricity providers. The results are proven to be profitable. For example if they raise rates by 10% but lose 5% of their customers, they win. They depend on customers not bothering to shop around. The lowest rates are only for brand new customers - so moral of the story is to intentionally shop around so you always get new customer rates.

    Hate to tell you, but I think insurance companies can come on your property to evaluate your home without prior notification. However they can't come into your house without prior approval epeciallyif you have a rental. To me an insurance company that will evaluate it is better than than one that doesn't. Lawsuits aren't fun. Rather have my insurance tell me what I need to correct than have one that does look at the house and I find out I'm not covered when little Tyrone gets hurt on my rental property.

But at the end of the first year they increased the rate by maybe $800 a month for the same exact policy saying that the reasons were that all the drivers don't have their driver's license in the same state as the business is located.
