Learn how to set up automatic page numbering, and change the page number style based on defined sections within your publication. Credits: Publication by Benjamin Viney.
Hi Johnl1160, Thanks for your question. To change the page numbering starting page you'll need to use the 'Sections Manager'. You can find the sections manager on the pages panel. Create a new section after you front cover and select the 'start page numbering' and then type in a page number (most likely 2). We have another video on the section manager which you may find useful here - ruclips.net/video/HFI21q__hac/видео.html Hope this helps.
Hi @ARBUZIK.dudkin, Thank you for your question. Make sure you have the Text Frame tool selected and that you are inserting the page number inside the text frame. Hope this helps.
Hi Flei, There are a few ways you could change the colour. You can choose to edit that Master Page separately by right clicking on the Master Page in the Layers Panel and choose 'Edit Detached' or you can create a second master that has the section names text style set to white. Both should work its just which ever way your prefer.
Hi Samanthaamaya3907, You can edit the order of your text frame that contains your page number field by using your layers panel. In the video above I use master pages to apply my page numbers and you could if you wanted move the Master layer (green line) in your layers panel to the top but if its easier you could also simply add a page number field to any normal text frame. So you could create a new text frame on your page using the text frame tool. Then with the frame selected you can go to your top menu, select Text> Insert> Fields> Page Numbers. You would then be able to move that text frame individually on your layer panel above or below your other content. Hope that helps.
Much needed. Thanks!
How did the page number become white on an image page but black on a white background page?
How does one use automatic page numbering but disable it from numbering the cover page?

Why when I try to insert the page numbering the option is grayed out and unclickable?

At minute 1:30 you can see that the section and page number are shown in white. Can you control that or was a separate sample page created for this?

@@benjaminviney Thank you. 🙂
How do you bring hidden page numbers to the front of the document?
