We go over price, features, and things you can add to the units. I give you my overall opinion and give you some pointers if you are looking to go one way vs another. A little about me:
    I am James McBurnett. I live in the great state of Texas. Probably not where you would think, but I am located in the panhandle region. I moved here from Alabama and work as a Chemical Engineer in the area. After being here for a few years, I decided to get back to my roots as a fisherman. It is quite challenging in my area to find a body of water to fish. The closest lake to me is about 40 miles away.
    After a couple more years, I realized how much I love fishing and wanted to share it with the world. Clearwater fishing was born. I wanted to teach people all about fishing. This includes rods, reels, fishing line, bait, lures, largemouth bass, crappie, walleye, catfish, bluegill, boats, boat trailers, outboards, and anything else related to fishing.
    I also wanted to share my fishing experiences as well. To be entertaining, knowledgeable, comical, and FUN. This channel was created out of the love of the sport of fishing, and I plan to keep making content that represents that. Thank you for watching this video and reading a bit about me. Give me a shout out in the comments below and let me know you read this. Now get out there and go catch you some fish.

      Help: I know noting about fish finders. What I need: water temperature, depths, boat speed, and structure/ schools of pan fish. What do you recommend? I only fish lakes/ a river within 100 mile radius here in Kentucky.
      Mounting on a 2004 Yamaha PF175, and I only fish a few times a year. What would you buy? Any brand and any size?

    • @clearwaterfishing
      @clearwaterfishing  Год назад +2

      @@MrTaylorcraft I would recommend HELIX 8 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N. At $1300 you get all the features of 10", 12", or 15" unit. If that is too much you can get HELIX 7 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G4 for $750. Note the first one can be networked, if you expand in the future. I would pair both of the these with a Lakemaster mapping card for the Southeast, which includes Kentucky. Let me know if you have more questions.

    In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. I am debating between these units at the moment…..I think I may go with the Helix based on the built in mapping. The Lowrance unit has inland lakes but I fish inshore coastal. It would require a map purchase. The Humminbird basemap that is standard has the Coastal US coverage. Other than that, from watching videos, I am of the opinion that the Helix is easier to set up and use.
