Birthday party for African Lion, Amani!

Happy 23rd birthday Amani!
Keepers at Adelaide Zoo treated the feisty lioness to a birthday piñata of a different sort… with piñatas filled with different animal poo providing some smelly scent enrichment.
In the wild, African Lions live up to approximately 14 years of age, so Amani and her companion Mujambi are well into their senior years. In fact, Amani is the oldest lioness in Australia! The dedication and care of our team has enabled both lions to live well beyond expectancy.
