  • Shift scheduling HPtuners for smoother or more aggressive driving. In this video, I use the tune file for my Hummer H3 but this works for many other electronically controlled transmissions, as well. HPtuner shift points are easily adjusted and can significantly change drivability!

Hello Rusty! I apologize, I thought I had responded to your comment but I don't see it! I am happy to know you've appreciated the H3 content so far, and thank you for sharing. Adjusting shift points to help transmission behavior while driving through the mountains is such a major benefit of HP Tuners! It is a powerful tool, and I definitely recommend getting familiar with it. What part of the world do you live?

Hey man, I appreciate it! My gf's engine seized, so she's been daily driving the H3. Since I haven't been able to work on it, I figured tuning videos will work for the time being haha

What shift points do you recommend for 35 inch tires?

Very interested in this topic. But Hard to see what you are doing, even on a big screen…..need to redo this video.

Very nice. Did you have problems with it shifting hard? Like 1st to second? 🤔

I often perceive the jolting of auto transmissions as being too hard! Not sure if it's any rougher than the other gears, though. In 4-low, 1st to 2nd feels like I have a turbo haha. Does your 1st to 2nd feel noticeably rough?

@@H3Humper it's intermittent. Sometimes it shifts smooth and sometimes you could kind of feel the shift a little more..... it's been fully rebuilt twice. I'm starting to think that's just the way it is....

Curious what settings you finalized with. I'm running a Hypertech on my 08 3.7 and I went with +200 on the shift points and +500 on the rev limiter, and adjusted the transmission firmness to 50%.

I hadn't looked into Hypertech too much until reading your comment, and the system looks sweet! Are you able to make changes while you're driving? For mine, I lowered my speed shift points to try lessening my engine RPM and improve MPG. I haven't actually changed mine in a while, though, so I can't recall in detail. I will look at my tune file tomorrow and let you know 🤓 I haven't played with shift firmness yet. Did your adjustment to 50% bring firmness up or down?

@@H3Humper Road Tuning is not doable with the Hypertech unfortunately. shift firmness was increased when I went to 50%. really enjoy the channel and looking forward to more!
