Our LG tv was also stuck on the same screen a few years ago, followed this guys’ steps, and boom. Fixed the tv. Very grateful but never wrote a comment saying thank you. It’s 2022 now and the same tv had the same problem. Brought this video back on to refresh my memory, and worked this time around as well. Thank you for your knowledge, man! Much appreciated!

My 14 years old LG TV gave me first all time issue just like this.
I made everything and nothing worked.
I saw mainboard refence, it is hard to find and would cost +150€.
Came across with your video and i give it a try; nothing to loose.
And, for my surprise, it WORKED! True story, no BS.
Thanks for saving me money for buying new TV.
    Best regards from Portugal.

OK, this sounds like malarkey, but for those of you seeing this and feeling filled with doubt, I tried this yesterday. My 9+ year old 43” LG LED TV was experiencing the exact same problem: stuck on the startup screen.
IT WORKED. It actually worked. We are now back to watching our TV with no problems. Now we don’t have to throw out what had otherwise been a fine working TV (and adding to the world of trash we create), and spend hundreds on a replacement.
Many thanks to the maker of this video!

My LG TV 37LE5500 pricked today, I tried to reset it, but nothing happened.
I googled the problem, and I reached this video. I was 100% sure that this is a scam, but as I was not ready to spend few hundred bucks on a new TV set, I thought I shall give it a try, I followed your instructions step by step, and I was AMAZED that it really worked.
I am thankful man, you were a great instructor, and you saved me some hundred bucks.
    Thank you again.
I just want to mention that I used an LPG oven, I preheated it to 200 °C for 10 mins, and then baked the motherboard for 11 mins at the same tempreture.

  • @bigspartanfan93

IT WORKED on my old 32LD550. I had the exact same issue and start-up screen. I thought this video was a joke at first. The idea of putting the motherboard into the oven seemed crazy and I'd never heard of this hack. Brilliant! My TV was on the way to a recycling center where I had to pay $10 to dispose of it. Thank you for posting this great tutorial. TV saved!

Oh, thank you so much. I just performed the "rescue-baking" on the mainboard of a 47LE5500, which was stuck on start up. Everything went OK and now I have a fully functional TV again. Wouldn't have done it without your detailed description. THANK YOU!!!!. God bless you. Keep up the good work. I would also like to mention that my mainboard had a plastic SCART socket also, which didn't melt through the baking process(did it for 12 minutes in 198 Celsius)

You are a lifesaver!!! Thank you so much. I was initially hesitant to take this on (even with the moral support of my mother). The few men I told about this told me that they'd much rather buy a new TV. Clearly, they seemed a little intimidated at the thought of taking the whole thing apart. Managed to get the TV back up and running within about 2 hours.. To any women (or anyone else) who might be intimidated to do this on their own: THIS IS THE EASIEST STEP-BY-STEP VIDEO ON THE WEB TO FIX YOUR MOTHERBOARD. Thank you so much TipsNNTricks. Totally saved my 9 year old TV and my quarantine.

This happened two days ago for the first time in the 10 years I've owned the 43" model. Had other issues intermittently with the buttons.. tried everything, couldn't reset it.. unplug, plug back, hold power to discharge... Said you know what imma put the mother board in the oven. 380°, as soon as it hit the temp I turned oven off and put the board in. Left it like that for 30 mins or so. Took it out, let it cool. Plugged it back in, and sure enough powered right back up to HDMI past the previously stuck logo screen. So amazed this worked. Thank you!!!

I didn't even have to change the language, it restarted in English. Thanks so much. my model was 47LE5400-UC. Fantastic, I love it. I just bought a second hand LG 42" 42LE5510 and had it a month and it started doing the LG logo thing and I thought CR#P I just wasted AUD$200. I found your video and put the motherboard in our fan forced oven at a smidge under 200°C for 10mins on cardboard, let it cool for 10 mins in the oven with the door open and then cooled another 10mins on the bench, installed it back in the TV and it's now working. You're my hero!

Thank you for this! I was skeptical about this as well and at first thought it was a practical joke, but the comments convinced me. I tried it following the instructions exactly in an electric oven and it worked on my 42LD650. I guess it has to do with heating up the solders so the components stick to the motherboard better? Someone mentioned it's similar to the ovens they use on motherboards in factories. Probably will clean my oven just in case there are toxins in there. (6/26/2020)

Dear all, I had the same problem with LG TV 47LE5500, and what to do 10 days before Christmass Eve. To buy a new TV or to order a repairman. How much the repair will be cost? Many questions and nobody to fix it before Christmass Eve. I watched video, looked no such sofistic, so I get started to fix my TV. I followed video step by step, got mother board to the oven on 200C for 10 minutes. After coolling down
I have mounted a mother board into back panel of TV, inserted all connectors (5) and with a hidden breath I turned on TV and my TV again is working! Trust yourself, be brave I´m not electric engineer nor experienced technician and I fixed my TV alone with sharing this usefull video. Thanks a lot TipsNNTricks

I must be honest..... I listen the video, and all time I was thinking this was a total fake. I have an LG 55 8500 European model. One year ago it suddenly stops on LG initial screen. I dig in everything and the only option that could solve the problem: purchase a new mainboard. But fortunately I found this incredible solution, and nothing more to lose (totally skeptical), I go thorough every steps.
Now my LG is working perfect !!!! Umbelivable but thru.
Maybe for some others fault this solution did not work.
    Thank you very much.

I just tried it the first time with my LG 42LD550. First attempt it was a half success. Half of the screen came up on the home screen and went to input screen but the other half were colored lines and then went black. Baked a second time at 5 degrees higher and turned the board opposite way in the oven from the way it was in before (same side up). Let it cool longer this time in the oven with the door partially open. I had just tested it again before I put the back on and It WORKED... SO IF ANYONE THINKS IT DIDN'T WORK BECAUSE THEY HAD HALF A SCREEN... BAKE IT AGAIN UPPING THE TEMP BY 5 DEGREES AND ONLY PROP THE OVEN DOOR OPEN AFTER YOU SHUT OFF THE OVEN. LET IT COOL DOWN 20 MINS, THEN TAKE IT OUT LETTING IT COOL AN ADDITIONAL 5 MINUTES! I'm so grateful for this video. I was going to purchase another tv because adding $100 to the cost of the motherboard would get me another tv.

It really works on mine LG 42LE5500 TV. Tried it yesterday thinking that I going to dispose the faulty TV anyway, so no harm trying. Unbelievably, it works and bring back my 8 years old TV to life. I covered the main board with aluminium foil before placing it into the oven afraid that it will further damaged my oven. Set the temperature to 200 degreeC and 10mins. Left it cool and screw back. Surprise everything works as per normal. Thanks!

Nice video and explanation of the process. I only recommend that this is not done in a kitchen oven as the solder in the braze does contain toxic materials that can deposit on the internals of the oven as it's being heated.

Edit: So I took it out of the oven and the motherboard looked warped a bit. I installed it anyway, and it works! Thank you so much for this tutorial! I got this TV for free, and now I have a 42-in LG TV!

WOW! OK I was skeptical, but in some way it did make sense, and of course what did I have to lose! My LG had no picture, no sound. I followed the detailed instructions, except that I baked it outside in a toaster over, thus avoiding any smells in the house. It worked perfectly! Just put it back together a few minutes ago, fired it up and bingo! Perfection! Thank you! Saved me buying a new TV and kept this one out of the landfill! :-)

2020 here! Tried it on a 9-year old 42LE7300 today with exactly the same symptoms. 10 min at 200 °C and the menu works again! Thanks. Hope it will prolong the life of the TV a bit.

Thank you! My wife and I followed your awesome instructions step by step and it worked. We have an older TV, circa 2009....and it was revived today! Mind blown!! We feel like we are basically engineers now lol. Jk. What causes this on a 10 year old TV though, and why is this a fix? Just curious. Thank you again.

Electronics manufacturers many years ago went to a cold soldering practice and in time the connections on the board are lost. We used to fix all the solder points with a soldering gun back in the day but for DIY, this is much more practical.

Thanks a lot for this great Video!! very clear!!! I tried with the LG 32LD550 of my son. The first time succeed 50%, because half of the screen presentes only lines and dots. Then I put it again in the oven adding 5°C and the same as Charley F. (thanks also for your comments) rotating 180° the board, but with the same side up as the first time. Then mantain the temperature for 10 minutes, turn off the oven and open partially the door 5 minutes. Finally, 2 minutes door completely open, take it out and cool it along 10 minutes at ambient temperature.
Great surprise, TV set is now operating normally!!! and it was funny to look my wife´s face when I told her the good news, honestly we were very suspicious about this technique. Actually this old TV has no spares in my country, Chile, so this video helped me to save purchasing a new one...

I forgot to comment that the TV had several failures, did not recognized the HDMI, then failed the image and also the sound, these last two, were like a slow motion but worse.

Hey mate; thanks a lot for posting this video. I have kind of the same TV but 50 inches, what happens is that every time I try turn it on; it would continusly make this tick noise which can last 5 to 10 minutes before it finally come on. I was wondering if you could give me guides on identify the problem & how to repair the issue. I hope was able to explain myself in way that you could understand. Cheers

It does work, guys. You HAVE to ensure the temp, whatever your oven says, do not rely on its gauge, you need to verify its temp. Once it's up to temp, bake for 10 minutes, crack the oven's door open and kick back for 45 minutes. Find shit to do like read a book or play with your grandkids. Pb free solder melts at 365. Don't put cardboard in oven, use a tray, it doesn't stink up like you think... All you're doing is fixing LG's factory shit cold solder joints in most cases. I picked up a 2015 43LF590-UB left out with the "trash" by a neighbor. 6 months later and well, I left a note in their mailbox saying thanks for the TV. This ain't exactly a new trick.
