- Defying Gravity - Rachel Tucker - Last Show in London 28/01/2017 - HD Audio Only
I did not record this. Uploaded for entertainment purposes only. Enjoy!
Everyone around me in the stalls was on their feet as she finished that last high note. It was fantastic. I hope she glimpsed a brief look at the standing ovation she got before the lights went out.
She cracked on the note, doesn't sound ovation worthy to me
You crazy yes she does
@@emhu2594 LOL at these "experts".
THE GROWLING IS AMAZING I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW ONE PERSON CAN HOLD SO MUCH TALENT !!!!
IT’S UNFAIR LIKE SAVE SOME FOR THE REST OF US GIRL
If you ever see the audio for this, she blew a kiss toward the audience instead of thrusting her broom forward! It was amazing, I was in the audience :) forever my favourite Elphaba💚
Video*
Omg do you have it??!! 😨😨😨
If I recall correctly, she did the same when she left in 2012 :)
Sorry to burst your bubble, but in this video which is the same defying gravity she did a broom thrust
ruclips.net/video/x7Qy__PiQlU/видео.html
@@maesilucia1818 that video of her last DG is dubbed over from another performance. So no bubble has been burst I am afraid!
I was there that night. She blew me out of my seat. Simply the best Elphaba in my opinion.
She is out of this world. Just pure perfection how she embodies Elphaba 💚
K
That ending is INCREDIBLE. Especially her second down and that battle cry.....she deserves to be Elphaba on film for the movie version.
Can only imagine what the atmosphere would have been like for this show. This lady has one of the most incredible voices I’ve ever heard. She is elphaba. So sad she’s left :(
lying here, sobbing. i can only imagine how Rachels last show must have been live 😭💚
Oh, she is just utterly incredible! I wish she never had to leave. She IS Elphaba. AND THOSE RIFFS! THOSE GROWLS! OH MY GOD!
So I know this is over a year later, but I am so overcome with emotion listening to this again after hearing her words in her final speech, in which she says that in this role it is her job to relay to the audience what it feels like to be discriminated against. I am weeping and overcome with emotion listening to her sing this, because every single word, spoken or sung, has so much feeling and meaning behind it. I had the privilege of seeing her at the end of her London run and she was brilliant, and quite pregnant mind you. Thank you, Rachel, for everything you brought to Elphaba, and for touching so many of us.
She was pregnant in this?? I’m visually impaired so can’t see if there’s any footage in this I can only hear the audio. But if she’s pregnant then that’s totally insane! I mean it’s bloody brilliant anyways but wow.
I still cant get over cast change and how incredible Rachel's performance was! Rachel was my first Elphie and I am so glad I was lucky enough to see this performance!
I died when she did the "AhahaAHAHAhah!"
I WISH she’d done that battle cry when I saw her in NYC back in 2015. No such luck. Her performance was still outstanding. This sounds AMAZING!!! Rachel is up there for me, I think she is one of the BEST Elphabas in the history of the show.
she does this battle cry on special occasions! She did it at the 10th West End Anniversary and this, her final show. :)
Ben Schaeffer yeah! She was amazing in Gershwin theatre in May Last year (2016).
It was truly amazing to be in the audience for this show I don't think any Wicked performance I see after this will even be half as good. She'll always be my favourite Elphaba, having seen the show a few times, every scene just seemed more special, and the riffs were insane. If anyone has video of any of the songs that night I would love you forever.
i’ve been feeling really numb emotionally recently but coming back to this always, always gets me
So amazing! She will always be one of my favorites. So powerful, clear and consistent. I wish the audience has waited like two more seconds to scream. I would have liked to hear the end of that riff!
Tbh she is one of my favorite Elphabas besides Willemijn Verkaik. Also after hearing some of her performances, I kinda have a little bit of her vocal skill in me now...DEM GROWLS
Rachel is hands down the best Elphaba. Privileged to see her several times and nobody else I’ve seen even comes close. Can we also just take a moment to appreciate Suzie Mathers, who was an exceptional - my personal favourite - Galinda. She doesn’t get anywhere near enough love.
Thanks for posting this. Unfortunately it doesn't do the show justice :)
we were lucky enough to see this performance and cant imagine it ever being done better. It was absolutely, err, WICKED.
goosebumps through and through 💚 Rachel will always and forever be my Elphaba!
I was lucky enough to see her on Broadway and fell in love with her voice. At that point, I didn't even know about her. But wow, is she even human? The notes, the voice, the pitch... FANTASTIC.
Unbelievable talent!! And she’s still killing it over at come from away!
THAT ENDING RIFF OMG QUEEENNNN
Can we just take a moment to appreciate Mdm Morrible's wicked witch
So it's been over 4 months and I'm still not over this night 😭I've seen the show a fair few times but Rachel is by far my favourite Elphie! 😩
Exactly. 4 years since and I'm still not over it
I actually heard it live when I went to London, like tree years ago. And I felt so lucky when I saw this video and knew how Rachel Tucker was so better than another elphies. I wanna say thank you to Rachel for staying at the theater until I went to see 'Wicked'😊😊
Same here! I'm so lucky seeing HER.
she makes me cry every goddamn time. She's the only Elphie I've seen live, 1st with Louise Dearman, 2nd with Gina Beck, and her voice is so special to me. Thanks for uploading this.
got to see this woman in come from away and she is something else.
7:17 that piano though 😍😍😍💚💚💚
6 years later, BUT YES! That line they played changed the harmony in a way I hadn't heard before, and I LOVE IT.
@@mrbroadwaydork 6 years later and i still listen to this audio at least twice a week!!
i hope Rachel gets to play Elphaba in the upcoming Wicked Film
I hope they never make a "Wicked Film"
They already are. Universal are producing it along with the original creators of Wicked The Musical. I hope she gets it myself, I would want Idina Menzel but I don't think her voice could do as well as she did in Wicked.
Doesn't mean I have to like it.
No one is saying you have to like it. Just don't watch it.
You know what would be so cool? If they got Idina to make a cameo as Elphaba's mom. Idk that's just a fantasy that I keep playing in my head
There are no words to describe how incredible Rachel Tucker is
if she doesn't play Elphaba in the upcoming wicked film i will be so mad!!! she is the greatest actress to take on this role and will forever by my favourite
I literally just watched the show yesterday and I'm in love wid dis song
She is phenomenal. Wicked will always be my favorite
Her “rules” sends tingles down my spine it is so beautiful!!!😍😍
Forever glad we got her back even for that short period of time. There's only one person who got Elphaba 100% for me, and that's this girl. 💚
reading all these comments i need a video from this night😭😭
Saw rachel a couple nights before this and I can honestly say she was incredible ✨😓❤
I can't believe this was over a year ago. The best performance I've seen. Wish I could relive that night! :)
Chills......straight up chills down my spine at the end
That final battle cry as her last performance- nothing tops a last performance. You can hear the pure emotion in her voice
Rachel, whom I was lucky enough to see in New York two years ago in 2015, is AMAZING. I felt very lucky seeing it with her. It was like when I saw it with Idina in 2003, the same kind of feeling. I think Idina, Rachel and Kerry are my top three, because they each brought a unique spin to the character. Not to mention those vocals. I would actually like to see Rachel play Elphaba in the film version. Megan Hilty is my vote for the Glinda.
Queen, best Elphaba & Glinda ever😍😍
I have always had a great envy for people living in London or New York.. I come from Sweden and we have musicals yes, we made Chess and had a really great version of Phantom of the Opera with Peter Jöback. However i saw this in London on a fluke with just Rachel Tucker and it is by my standard the only real musical i have ever watched, i had goose bumps throughout the entire performance, Rachel is just pure talent, so silly and expressive and i would give much to go back and see more musicals with that level of production. Amazing, i just want more.
6:42 That growl was legendary.
Great show gave me goose bumps
I was lucky enough to be here at this performance and can honestly say it was the best live performance I've ever witnessed. Will she ever come back 😭?
That "so if ya care to find meeeeeee!"
6:37 My reaction to the last riff
I can't thank you enough 😇 GOD bless
Omg best night of my life
By far the best Elphaba
OH MY GOSH THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
I was there for this performance and it was truly amazing!
Awesome - best I've ever heard!
😭😭😭 So awesome I’m dead listening to this song over and over I love it so much
I was here. A good moment.
I love this songI Rachel Tucker
I was there and I cried like a baby. I miss Rachel and Suzie
ITSSSS MEEEEEEEEEEEEE (The power😮)
Rachel tucker is everything .
this is my mums bff, we went to see this in 2016 in london and after the show we went backstage, i take that as an icomplishment 😌✨
I went to see Wicked on the West End before I really got into Theatre and I just realised I was there 2 weeks before this
Wow 😳 LUCKY
I saw her back in 2016 she was amzing
I feel so blessed I got to see her as Elphaba :D
The riffs and the growl 🤩🤩🤩
Am i the only one who loves Morrible screaming WICKED WITCH?
Rachel woooo rachel yausss queeen weee love you woooo we miss you on broadway
do you have ALAYM where Rachel says 'for the last time I feel wicked' instead 'for the first time I feel wicked' 💔💔😭😭
And do you have speeches? 💚
ALAYM posted. Speeches is just audio but actual videos are kicking around so I wont bother :)
Selfehh At what time?
GOOSEBUMPS
I'm the whole video like "well it's okay" then 6:30 came.
The best Elphaba that there is or was
As much as I'm not a huge fan of wicked, this gave me goosebumps.
GOD THAT LOOK GROWL THOUGH
Best night of my life ever 😭 do you happen to have the full audio? Would love to trade for it 😊
wow!
Oh my gosh this is amazing!! Do you have the full audio to trade?
Thank you for sharing!! this is fantabulous!! Is it possible to share with me the full audio of this performance?? I really love to hear the whole performance of this cast of wicked uk (rachel and suzie). Hope to hear from you. Thanks! have a lovely day ahead. :)
I think there’s a full one on RUclips that hasn’t been taken down
was there a standing ovation right after this
YES
💚💚💚💚💚
wow
la amo
Rachel gets me every time I love her! I can't believe this was her last time - it won't be the same now
After the last note, I was expecting a praise break. Everyone might dance to the Defying Gravity Praise Break. That would’ve been cool.
❤️❤️❤️
Rachel the best Elphaba for me....❤️❤️❤️
I know her auntie irl. My granny was her best friend
Was this Morrible's last show as well?
Yeah
THEEE elphaba
Those riffs are amazing... not sure whether I like the growls or not. She is my second fave after Idina, unfortunately no one can do it better than the original cast in my opinion. Still love it though.
Aah no the Tucker Growl is iconic!!!😆
What is the band for this? Live strings and brass? Or multiple keyboard players? Id imagine piano and 2 keyboard players. Or Click tracks with those parts on(doubt it with all the rubato)?
Well they seemed to simply have an orchestra
@@unemilifleur so you think a string section? And brass section?
@@nezkeys79 Uh I don't know, I'm really not familiar with those terms. But you can watch a video called WICKED Music: Conductor
on youtube, it might give you an idea.
@@unemilifleur those terms? It just means actual humans playing violin/viola/cello/double bass or trumpet/trombone/alto sax/tenor sax etc as oppose to keyboard players (keys 1 keys 2 keys 3 etc) covering those instruments digitally to cut costs
@@nezkeys79 I think they're all humans, but I could be wrong
She's still awesome... I've watched her twice in 2011 n I was hoping she would stay on till end of this year when I'm back in London but........ Her voice is phenomenal.... Best elphie ever.... Sorry Idina is not match for this girl
....
Second best elphaba. First is Idina, half because she's the original, half because she's just really good
Rachel’s best for me Idina’s in 3rd
Whose playing them now?
Bxcca Phan Af at the moment its Wilemijn Verkaik and Suzie Mathers. but in july it will be Alice Fearn and Sophie Evans
Joeleoo Bookworm yeah I know that now because I saw suzie and willemijn in April for my birthday
Elphaba should fly out into the audience. London version is lame. Want to see a better version where they team up and elphaba doesnt abandon her cause at the end
She is an amazing Elphaba but this Glinda just ruins it for me :(
I think Suzie is amazing. She was just very emotional because it was Rachel's last show.
