Hi Kevin, thanks for the great review! Can you please comment on the quality of the audio system? I have seen comments the speakers are not great while in motion, they don't drain well and the overall sound quality is not really worth the money. Basically you maybe better off saving $800 + tax, 18 extra pounds off the machine and just buying a separate speaker(s).
It's good. I had misspoke during the Live Session. They Yamaha watt output is identical to Sea-Doo's (2 50watt) but I wasn't wrong in them drowning out over 55mph, while the Sea-Doo's are a little more clearer until about 60-62mph.
I have to say ( maybe this is good to avoid other boaters and neighbors) but even on the SeaDoo, they aren’t that loud or of good audio quality…(especially considering the price tag. On my Wake Pro 230 tbe engine / supercharger is loud ! I can’t hear music successfully above 30mph. (I’m old clearly a little more deaf than Kevin !) My other beef with the SeaDoo is the glovebox barely accommodates an iPhone 12 (with charging plug inserted )
Hi Kevin. Where can I buy the Ram mount mentioned for the Garmin Fishfinder? I can't seem to find it anywhere online. I have the 5-inch fish finder version mentioned.
What are your thoughts on having to drill six holes into the deck of the Waverunner to mount the forward securing brackets on the Recdeck? I love my 2022 FX HO, I've had it for six weeks! The Recdeck I ordered with the ski is still on backorder and now I'm having second thoughts about mounting it, because I'm reluctant to drill into my deck and it not be water tight. Yamaha released a Recdeck install how to video a few days ago and it appears that only through bolts, washers and nylock nuts are used, no backing plate or waterproof sealant for the holes.
Serious question: I am looking to purchasing a PWC directed towards fishing. Would you recommend SeaDoo FishPro Trophy or the Yamaha FXHO with the JetFish Package and Garmin? I would mainly be doing bay and offshore fishing. In terms of reliability, fuel economy & range, features, etc. I know 2023 models will be released soon for both companies and preorders will sell out quick, I have been researching for awhile now and keep flip flopping my opinion.
Do you know if the factory cover will fit over the recdeck? Also what is involved with mounting of it. Great video as usual. Just ordered the same ski with the audio package.
Whats the stability when fishing from the runner fxho standing on the sides or back? Also does the fxho have a trolling speed mode for fishing? Or if not is there a mode for slow speeds that would do 6-8 knots?
Kevin discussed this in detail during a live session; while there's no dedicated "trolling mode" Yamaha does have a No Wake mode (4-to-9mph) and a super slow TRE setting (1-2mph).
Nice that the recdeck can be retrofitted on 2019+ machines. The cons is once you installed it, it’s permanent. Nice new options with the screen. But not sure I’ll make phone call on the water 😂. After a while it just gonna stop to work lol.

I agree. I’m currently in the process of figuring out what I want for 2023 and so far seadoo is more appealing for dedicated fishing vessel. You bet, buddy.
I have owned one seadoo in my life but have owned 5 and still own a Yamaha FX SHO Yamaha has the best reliable motores on the market and that sells volume. I would love to see Yamaha build a true fishing craft with built in nav and built in storage and built in stereo speaker systeam. I think Yamaha should upgrade there design and not bolt on things and INCREASE THERE PRICES :(
You WANT them to increase their prices?
I love yamaha but that deck is ugly it look bulkier in the back not a clean ride compare to the seadoo. No space in the back .Such a big company should come up with nice clean fishing ski
The images don't do the Rec Deck justice. It's surprisingly useful and there's some very clear bits in it. Plus, the dang thing is removable, which is something the Fish Pro doesn't do.
When are these guys going to learn to lose the annoying background music> I'm out of here. Sea-doo here I come.
LOL you're going to go to Sea-Doo because of background music in our review?
Yamaha Engine is BETTER THAN Seadoo Rotax..
Seadoo Platform is BETTER THAN Yamaha. Hard to pick. Reliability vs swivel seat???
Is the platform better?
Wish the blue were a bit darker. Very feminine looking.
It identifies as masculine though….
Man, you need to go stroll through the boat yard. There's half million dollar boats in the same colors.
That’s a personal opinion.
its non-binary
I wish that rear seat was just a little bit wider so It can comfortably fit 2 adults. It holds 2 small kids but only 1 adult.
