So decline 90% of orders? Can't do that
I do doordash. I having seen an order. That pays more than $12. Most are under $7 or less.
My area was great today! Made $114 in 4.5 hours. All deliveries, no shops, and my AR went from 7 to 21%.
Do your area have the silver, gold, and Platinum rewards? What hours do you primarily work?
Love that
Under $7 is about all we see in My area
Similar for me. Anything $10 plus is 12 plus miles or you pass by 2 other stores that have the same dang name
Agreed!! 90% + if DoorTrash orders are less than $7
Hi Mike! When you’re in your DD account, your interface is white and you have three tabs at the top (profile, vehicles and settings). In my account section, it’s dark grey and I dont have these tabs and can’t adjust the delivery preferences. Im new with 85 deliveries so far. Is it because im new?
in CA I always have earn by time as a minimum pay should I just take everything with a guaranteed pay of $19 and hour plus 36 cents per mile when on a order
I do zero shop and deliver and decline most stacked orders. The only reason they’re stacking is because they’re repackaging one turd delivery that no one wants. That’s a fact. And I constantly do between $75-$110 for about 3-4 hours. Just my strategy may not be for you.
1:45 what triggers those? Ive seen those 2 x $200 extra for 25 orders and once for $75 extra for 15 orders. I think u get them after not dashing for like 3 month + ?
Also, one thing I’ve noticed too is usually I can unassigned penalty free within like five minutes dash lets me do it
Not sure if you’ve done this. But how about a grocery vs restaurant apps. Pick your top 3 of each to see which is superior in your market.
What happened to that DD platinum? It's not worth it, right?😂
Yeah, what happened????????? SO on to the next thing and don't even mention it?
My issue that I have is after 12 o’clock in the morning there’s only like two or three spots open anyway so I’m usually stuck where I’m at waiting anyway
So since you mentioned COD and can turn off on DD. I can’t turn it off. It’s so frustrating. I have in app chatted. Called. Emailed. All the things. I am
iPhone. Hubby can turn off a he’s iPhone. My son can’t turn off either and he is android.
It’s not right we
Can’t turn it off. And yes. It’s an auto decline on COD for us.
We’d be happy to see anything over $5 that’s not miles away. It’s rare
In my market, Door Dash's hidden tip threshold is $6 and $2/mile, so I take short quick $6s all the time, and usually 1/4 of them is really $10ish
Ok I do dash by hour once in awhile I never gotten a shopping order in my area
No shop and pays while driving Earn By Time. You have to be in Per Offer to get Shop and Pays.
My area is full of non tippers and I have been doing hourly to get my AR up to between 97 to 99%. The time halos to make up for the non tippers. I find when I do by delivery I'm lucky to see $7, but the miles aren't bad. All in all I average over $20 per hour accepting everything except $12 toll delivery. I do no shop and pay lost my red card on purpose 😒.
Since being a top dasher (Maryland ) I don't drive as many miles and make quota.
I worry about this new silver, gold and platnum we don't have that yet.
Give a different zone a test run for a few days or a week. My normal zone I'll consistently get 50-60% of my pay from tips. I decided to try the zone just South because I know it's busier, hoping I'd increase my daily average with a higher quantity of orders to take; but, I ended getting like 80% base pay because it turns out basically no one in that zone tips.
I’ll accept a $4-5 order if it’s 1-2 miles total lol.
There’s an area in my zone late at night that has 2 fast food places and a gas station. I go back and forth, usually make at least $7 on them, but it’s an easy way to stay in the same place and I always get peak pay 1130p-130a.
Wow I’m in between San Diego and LA and my market doesn’t have Dash by time , 25 dashes earn 200, I’m thinking about driving into LA and San Diego 😮
In my area everything is under $7 regardless if it's over $7 it's a bigger order
Hear platinum going to 80% ar not 70%
It’s tough cause the lower $$ we accept as drivers, I feel that DD, UE’s, etc use that to lower their payouts to drivers. If these orders that pay terrible will just be accepted anyways - why would we raise pay?
And it encourages non tippers to stay non tippers. I see an offer for $2-3, I decline, idc about my AR. It’s the principal. Even if it’s 2 miles or less, I still have to wait around for the order, drive/ find the house, when I could have gotten more money in the meantime. If they don’t respect my time I don’t respect their food lol.
Majority of offers are under $7 unless its a shopping order.
You dont get shopping orders on EBT
Oh but you get no/low tip orders.
I’ve had all kinds of shop & deliver offers. I know that $7.50 to $8 is a no tip delivery. I try to get $1 per item, not too far a drive and limit the heavy items if possible.
I have been doing what you said in this video for the past year which is why my A/R is constant 7%
Are you still receiving plenty of orders? Is the tier program currently in your area?
@@tonybrown5885 No tier program in my area and not as many orders compared to last year
I was getting so many order last year and this year since they changed the platform it sucks.
Took 1 yesterday DD $11 4 miles 1 milkshake from Del Taco to a trail court in an otherwise unper middleclass area with added tip $3 be friendly to your customers love meet at door. Only DD I took they are all crap normally wouldn't of taken it but it was dead.
i would agree with the first but at the moment (literally just started dashing by bike and only been in for 3 days) i have yet to finish the initial 25 orders so i am getting at max a 6.00 order per order and getting maybe 1-2 an hour most days ive dashed so i have to take smaller orders or i get nothing
Depending on your area that's what I expect because I also deliver by bike and, honestly, I like the lower pay offers only when they are close. Since I bike I can cut most of my "drive time" by using shortcuts that I know of in the areas I deliver and can get (on average) 5-6 orders per hour so even at a min $4 becomes $20-24 per hour which isn't too bad for my financial position.
Please talk about the tracking on DoorDash. And that if you hard brake or accelerate you can be penalized or deactivated. No way to turn it off.. I’m still on the old system and not good system yet.. but hopefully not anytime soon. Tag me in it!
Btw I’m over 8000 deliveries and full time. Run 4 apps at once.
Where? In safety?
but door dash does have an option to turn off shop and deliver orders now !!
I decline all cash deliveries
If DD was smarter…they have an option (or a new strategy) to allow drivers on EBT to take shop and deliver orders for offer only, as a way for both them to get orders delivered and me to not miss out on those orders. I would take them. Then I could stay on EBT and the only “offer” orders would be shop and deliver. Everybody wins.
Lmao
Two things to decline. A UC school is part of our delivery area. Twice a year the roads are shut down for parties and we are not allowed in. I missed a point because Dasher gave me an order I couldn’t fulfill. Second we have a dangerous mountain road and someone keeps ordering $20 to the top of the mountain!!! For most of us this is a no go!!
Sounds like my area… we might be in the same.?
You don't get Shop & Pay on Earn by Time
Of course not 👀
I’ve seen it a couple of times in my market, vary rare and usually a small item count.
I drive almost exclusively on EBT and have never gotten a shop order…full time driver. Maybe 1000 orders on EBT…
I was surprised, I got screenshots.
My ar went from 60% to 48% but the tips are always under $7 now
Really enjoy your attention to nuance. I think this same way. I work in the Austin Market, mostly North Burnet and I honestly am very blessed. There are 2 Randall’s, A sprouts, a Target, Best Buy, Lowe’s, and Golf Galaxy and 3 Walgreens in my zone. All serving the same 10 mile radius area. I make somewhere between $200-$300 every day. Usually between 8-11 hour days. I don’t work on Wed/Thurs tho. Very very slow days. Hav
My shop and deliver rule is at least $1 per item.
Thanks Mike… nothing less than $7 and that’s even sour in my mouth. The feeling we get after pick up driving delivering all these steps plus other hassle to get paid $7 🤮… $10 or better and $7 if slow f it
0:58 dropping off pizza from the free DD bag. Fudge the main man on his $11 bag. We don’t need the extra cash tips. I literally delivered 4 pizzas today and made $15 on two. The pizzas help your bottom line in smaller cities
I have 4 pizza bags I got free. Places like Papa Johns get a huge box of them every once in a while, just to hand them out to drivers.
my general rule of thumb when it comes to shop and deliver, if you want me to shop for more than 5 items and that tip isnt 20 dollar or more I dont care if your one mile from the store, im not touching it. instant decline.
Bro wants food delivery apps to completely fail and customers not receive their food
How exactly is he doing that? Not sure why you would take orders that don’t give you the best profit margins you can get.
Go ahead and take all the low pay/high mileage orders, I’ll stick with what I do and what he basically suggests. You gotta train the algorithm and there are ways to do this
@@Hassler247 You can see plenty of comments agreeing with me, in different wording. A $7 minimum is a bit high. If every worker followed Driver Mike’s standards, the whole app would fail. I would be waiting and waiting instead of proceeding with orders to make money. I dont think Mike considers that there are many places outside of his Pittsburgh area that have a lower cost of living and lower standards for pay/minimum wage. For me to make the most money i can, i need to be accepting orders under $7 sometimes. People with too high of standards are part of the problem. Im generally selective enough to make good money, not sure why you started making assumptions about my work. My point stands, this advice is problematic.
That being said, id love to see the average worker get paid more and Doordash’s minimum pay to be raised for both EBT and per offer. But advising workers to accept a smaller percentage of offers is not good for the business and not good for a majority of workers.
I don’t think this is good advice
I say fire all greedy drivers problem fixed 😂
I say ban all lazy cheapskates from using these apps. That's another solution, haha.
@@PapagenoMF I tip but not for lazy drivers
So ban yourself if you want to pay for incompetent drivers
So ban yourself if you want to pay for incompetent drivers
I'm in detroit 1 out of a hundred ppl will treat you right after going above and beyond got to the point ibjad to start letting them know yo when you im a restaurant you suppose to tip the waitress that goes the same for dashers or others
Can you accept a $5 order going 3miles if you're going home or to another zone to avoid dead miles
I do to cover my miles home and only if truly along the way. Does depend on restaurant and history of wait time though
