Don’t stress out over it being an old oscilloscope, my work lab has five of them. Me and my work colleagues use them nearly every day for servicing high end industrial electronics. We also have a Huntron curve tracer as well which is good for finding defective electronic components.
Thanks! Yep, although I would recommend doing something like soldering clips to the aux cable that you can clamp onto your probes so you don't have to ruin your probe. I would recommend getting a 3.5mm jack like this: www.amazon.com/3-5mm-Repair-headphone-Soldering-Spring/dp/B00LBPKSNW or this www.ebay.com/itm/10-lot-3-5mm-Metal-Male-Repair-headphone-Jack-Plug-Audio-Soldering-solder-Stereo-/330841601186?hash=item4d07b234a2:g:FRgAAOxyjNlRyoXq
Cheers, going to give this a try with my MC505 and MC909, what a coincidence i have the same 2225 scope, however not the original TEK probes, PeaceFromOZ
Oscilliscopes have been around longer than I have been alive, which qualifies as old tech in my book :). Thankfully they keep improving them which gives tinkerers something to spend money on. Yah, I misspoke regarding what they measure though.
Could you please tell me how you hooked it up exactly and the cable you used? Is it just an auxiliary cable divided into 2 probe inputs connected to your laptop headphone jack?
hi Vincent! how did you connected the probes in the aux input? could you explain, maybe record how you made it? i'm trying to do the same but i got nothing yet
It would be nice!! if someday you could do it it would be very helpful. I already figured out a way to connect the input but it would be interesting to see how you did!
Hi, congratulations for the video. I wanted to ask you if using an rca cable on the oscilloscope to a 3.5 jack on the pc would work the same. Naturally also bnc-rca reducer. Thank you
The horizontal and vertical probe inputs have + and - and the Left and Right stereo output from the laptop has the same thing. You should be able to figure that out.
Please Please Please Please Please can you tell me what you are using to hook up the oscilloscope to your computer could you please include a link. Please Please Please Please Please Please

A year late, but that wouldn't work, that would send both channels to one input, when oscilloscopes use 2 bnc inputs for x-y mode, one for x, one for y.
can u answer this question pls? i have an oscilloscope, but i havent been able to hook it up to anything bc its really old. but if u could tell me what cords to use that would be very helpful thx. and if u could put the link of the where u found the cords would be great too.

But
theres a mouth on the oscilloscope?
the scope is amazingly responsive
Mine is a 2236. Saved it from being thrown away at the dump lol. Great video btw
Ex bench engineer here, miss using my scope. Great demo. Scope works fine, I had a digital digital Fluke.
Ah so that's why my heart was feeling a tingling sensation in the hospital
His heartbeat be bussin.
That is very cool! I would love to see what it looks like for Metallica's Orion.
Of course it's analog
I won't be impressed until someone draws a dodecahedron on an oscilloscope.
It’s been done

to connect an oscilloscope to a laptop or audio output, can you simply solder the aux cable to the probes?
(also great demonstration!)

cool i might give it a try, thanks for the help!
@@VincentWilsonSirSpaceGoat any chance you can explain how you did this?
Ahh I gotta get mine setup for this. I wanna make custom 3d stuff in Blender for it.
Cheers, going to give this a try with my MC505 and MC909, what a coincidence i have the same 2225 scope, however not the original TEK probes,

Did anyone else see the signal on the oscilloscope as being mirrored to the original video being played on it?
Awesome demo.
WOOOOOW We use it!
Oscilliscope is not old tech, and it measures change in frequency and voltage, not current
Oscilliscopes have been around longer than I have been alive, which qualifies as old tech in my book :). Thankfully they keep improving them which gives tinkerers something to spend money on. Yah, I misspoke regarding what they measure though.
My question is you have the probes hooked directly up to the 3.5 input on the mac, so how can we still hear the music ? Which speakers are playing ect
Can you show your settings?
Could you please tell me how you hooked it up exactly and the cable you used? Is it just an auxiliary cable divided into 2 probe inputs connected to your laptop headphone jack?
Lamo I’ve look at at least 15 videos, no explanation, the most important part of these lesson videos 🤣
@@mass-sequence yep.... duno why people show everything but the connection..
Ciao, ho acquistato un oscilloscopio analogico ma non ho capito come connetterlo al pc, potresti aiutarmi?
Hello plesse can you send me link to the leads you used on ebay?
haha double lines and mirror effect joined to the chat. In FL Studio same problem
This was quite random

hi Vincent! how did you connected the probes in the aux input? could you explain, maybe record how you made it? i'm trying to do the same but i got nothing yet
by any chance, did you figure out how to do it?
Yes! Its working now heheh
If you still need help I could put together a video. I soldered some connections to a aux cord.

Yes pleaseee
hi great video can you send me a link on ebay where to find these audio probe leads for L and R? many thanks

Naturally also bnc-rca reducer.
Thank you
Can you post a walk through of how you connected to the probes to aux jack.. and settings used on oscilloscope. I’m having a hard time figuring it out
The horizontal and vertical probe inputs have + and - and the Left and Right stereo output from the laptop has the same thing. You should be able to figure that out.

Please provide links to audio. RUclipss compression messes this all up. :/
And the new oscilloscope is Keysight.
Is that a Tektronic Dual Trace? Uber cool.
Bro finally found a video showing setup do u have discord to walk me through this or can you post another video with clearer footage of setup

Christopher Anton you can use 2 regular probes and a regular AUX cord to do this by the way.
Hey, if i wanna do this, should I go to old sthing seller? Or i can buy new one for showing this green dot movement.
What are all the probes and stuff I need to plug it into my computer?
Hello i was wondering for how much these go for? I have a guy but he seems sus.
Quality not good because youtube compression audio.
RUclips’s compression really messed it up
Faz um show mesmo sei lá onde
How the heck is that even possible lol
yeah how did you connect the probes to the aux? Cheers.
did you figure it out?
If you still need help I could put together a video. I soldered some connections to a aux cord.
Please make a video!
