I like how the Tourrider gets popular in motorcoach industries right after its introduction 2 years ago. I wonder how they convince their customers base so fast. is it because they had Setras previously so they know how the Benz would be? but how many knew that Setra and Benz are under the same parent company? they build this coach in Mercedes assembly facility in Turkey. I assume the cost to purchase this coach include delivery from Turkey to US. I wonder how much the added cost compared to MCI or Prevost
I’m sure the US sales force reassures potential customers - yes this is the evolution of the Setra coaches but clearly branded as a Mercedes-Benz product (which riders will immediately recognize), with the same powertrain as before. Potential customers include those Van Hool and MCI devotees who can’t get the “Detroit Diesel” DD13 engine in their coaches any more - it’s the same engine as the Mercedes OM471!
@@2005dave good point. DD13 is indeed loved by many. also the safety system offered in Tourrider adds it. it's probably never before in N. America. if it's effectively help prevent accident, I think it's worth the initial purchase cost
