I’m more confident, remembering that Salvador Sobral didn’t win the televote in Portugal back in 2017.

Hi Jan! Thank you so much. I love your analisys, always. I couldn't agree more. It's not for everybody. It is for those who can feel it. It's very artistic, very profound. One can easily become introspective, which I find quite good (and needed). Lets see if it goes to the final. If it won't, I, as a Portuguese, don't really care. I'm happy that we choose this song. Thank you and keep up the great reaction videos.

I am not optimistic. But I hope that my country continues to send songs to the Eurovision like this one, that mixes art, our roots, our language, and our approach to contemporaneity. I loved this choice and if Europe loves it too, great, if not, that's fine as well.

Your comments are fair and relevant. Still I will hold onto a little hope. Sometimes the public does support several ballads: SF1 2022, the public voted Portugal, the Netherlands, Greece, and Iceland through to the final. Also Portugal got public votes from 18 countries in SF1 that year. The next year Mimicat got votes from 16 countries. This data from the past is not a guarantee of anything, but sometimes a look at the data can broaden our perspectives of what might be possible.

Thank you Jan for a lovely comment 😍 I get that is not for everyone and it might be thought to get attention from televote. Explaining the choreography, the dancers are/represent the flames and her demons and at the end she makes them disappear with her scream. Grito = scream . Hugs from Portugal

Hello Jan, actually I thing Portugal will be a safe top 5 for Semi 1, with Croacia, Ukraine, Slovenia, Lithuania. Also being in the final: Australia, Finland and Serbia. Finally (not so sure): Moldova and Luxembourg (or Poland and Irland).

No way Portugal is staying behind Moldova and Slovenia. First one has a very weak entry and Slovenia is not accessible at all.
For me, it will be a easy Qualification.

I am just giving some options to think about. I like all 4 songs, each differently and dont forget they not just fight with other balads, but also completely opposite genres. All 4 balads artist can rly perfectly sing, so no advantage here and no natural listener to specific but beautiful Portuguese sound (just probably sure points from Luxembourg.

    LYRICS
    Iolanda - "Grito" (Scream)
    [Verse 1]
I heard, (I) felt, the body charging
We continued like that, one and another, one and another, one and another
I'm free falling, I'll let you know when I get there
I surrender here, little by little
    [Pre-Chorus]
Long strides, chained in the (race) start
I want to let go of what left me hurt
I ask the mother star to make the day rise again
    [Chorus]
(It still [Ainda] burns [Arde]) I transformed every verse of me (It still burns)
And surrender to the courage that still burns, still burns
Hit the light on your chest and opens it
I am a flame that still burns, still burns, still burns
    [Verse 2]
Today I want to prove myself
That I can be whatever I want (Whatever I want)
Bring together those who love me at a table
Forgive anyone who wanted to see me suffer
They don't fool me (No, no)
    I'm every size (I am)
I still remember when I was little
(I was) the one who dreamed first
    [Pre-Chorus]
Long strides, chained in the (race) start
I want to let go of what left me hurt
And I ask the mother star to make the day rise again
    [Chorus]
(It still burns) I transformed every verse of me (It still burns)
And surrender to the courage that still burns, still burns
Hit the light on your chest and open it
I am a flame that still burns, still burns, still burns
I am a flame that still burns, still burns
I am a flame that still burns, still burns
    Burn, burn, burn
I transformed every verse of me
And surrender to the courage that still burns, still burns
Hit the light on your chest and open it
I am a flame that still burns, still burns, still burns

Im really confident that Portugal can go easily to the final, maybe the 6th position achieved by Maro in 2022, and who knows another top 10 because of the juries. I say this because I can only see 4 countries better in the televote than us (Ukraine, Croatia, Lithuania and maybe Poland)

well, 8th place not rly easily honestly and actually I think from my model made later portugal exactly qualified liked this. If there are juries, this would be easy qualification. For sure not the best live vocals this year but one of, I agree. Also I rly like the performance. You can watch my masterclass also.
