'Simplistic' connotes: dumbed-down, too-simple, missing a crucial point of understanding, etc, etc. We have enough work credibly promoting woo-woo to the mainstream - without our own proponents describing mechanisms herein as 'simplistic'. That's a term that the naysayers would use.
