    Found your videos cause I’m looking to get a Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and watched chronological through your vlogs with that motorcycle. Was really glad you made it out alive of that crash. Praying you continue to have a good recovery and come back even stronger! 🏍️ life!

    The cannon ball videos are great. I think they will make great memories 10 years down the line that you can rewatch.

    I found your videos because of the cannonball. I had no idea what it was until that point and once I found out I have been hooked ever since. I think the whole concept of that is crazy but awesome and I would love to try the one next year if possible. I like your other videos too but the cannonball videos is what I binged all the way through. All the travel videos on the scooter are great. The wife and I both have motorcycles but I bought a cheap Chinese scooter and recently bought her a Honda helix and she loves it. Just a different experience and we both enjoy something different then being on the bikes. Long story short I guess I know it's a lot of work for you to edit but it's one of the most exciting for me to see the notification for when you post it. So take your time whenever that may be and finishing healing up and we will all be here waiting patiently. 🤘🛵

    I was a TV producer for 35 years, QM, and I feel your pain. The key is, I reckon, a good shot list and rough transcript of each tape with accurate time codes. Once that tedious but vital job is over, the rest falls into place quite logically.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  6 месяцев назад

      Then you know the pain firsthand! Unfortunately, my videos aren't scripted or planned in any way... no storyboarding or intentions beyond an abstract idea. They're essentially streams of consciousness and a bunch of raw first takes. I use whatever scenes work and can the rest.
      I'm using consumer-grade equipment without synced time codes... no SMPTE, GPS, or jam-sync... so there's no easy way to line everything up. Then I need to mitigate clock drift between sources... ugh. I resort to using visual frame cues and audio waveforms to line up tracks and then hope the drift doesn't spread too far before the usable scene ends. Lather, rinse, repeat. 🤦‍♂️🤣👍 --QM

    Hey Quasi, I recently added a Rebel to my stable of bikes. I have a few non-union fractured ribs. Had them for about a year and a half. Being squatted down and folded over on the Rebel puts my back in place. I think all this time, I just needed a Rebel to start healing up. 😂😂😂 I did go with a 300 although since I have no desire of express way riding. It is great for commuting. I am averaging 129mpg consistently!!! I am getting better mileage on that than I was getting on my ADV150 or my Grom. Commuters dream,....besides the crazy short gearing.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  6 месяцев назад

      🤯 129 mpg?! That's amazing! Are those US or UK gallons? How long is your commute, and what speeds do you average? I thought my PCX150 was great at 102-105 MPG with moderate speeds between 50-60 mph... but 129 MPG is incredible! --QM

    Yea Quasi..i was going to get the adv 160, but more i realize iam a dedicated motorcyclist, and in it for long haul, i may just get the nc750x,
    The more i look into it, the more i realize there is nothing more practical or comparable.
    Hope you get the nc also, then ill have a great source of information if i end up on the nc as well!

    I find it coincidental that a few of the more popular motorcycle bloggers have recently done videos explaining that they are getting burned out with the whole RUclips thing. Maybe it's just the off season. They say that sometimes it's a bad idea to make your passion a "job" or "responsibility". A couple BBQ channels that I follow have experienced the same thing. No one would hold it against you if you decided to just enjoy riding & tinkering for a while. Love your content, but you have to still love it too. Keep feeling better.

      @QuasiMotard  6 месяцев назад +1

      @REZrblde OK, I'll see if I can queue it up for a raw series. Unfortunately, I didn't have the group audio recording during that trip to capture our banter. Most of our conversations were definitely NSFW. 🤣👍 --QM

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  6 месяцев назад

      I've thought about redoing the 2021 SCBR in several different ways. The "raw" option is one flavor, and a condensed 1-2 hour episode of the entire adventure is another option.
      I could use some of the newer gauge overlays (daily mileage bar, cumulative total, scoring position, etc), then add more "theatrical" bits (music, B-roll, etc). It's a massive project, no matter how I approach it. 🤔 --QM

      @REZrblde 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@QuasiMotard ohhh that sounds cool. Probably like a "2021 SCBR Series Remastered/Revisited" or something like that.
      By the way,just worth mentioning. I do find myself enjoying the 2021 SCBR ride more. Its because of the bike. The Super Cub is just more interesting to watch and listen to compared to the PCX150. And im still amazed that you did that journey while pulling trailers and it had no significant issues/breakdowns.
      Dont get me wrong,i like the 2023 SCBR as well. But the Super Cubs made me love the 2021 SCBR series more

    I used to just use time-of-day timecode on all sources...but not synched up in any way. Then, after shotlisting, the synch points are not hard to find.
    The key is a good shotlist! Id lay down the key grabs first, then b-roll it. Insert pretties with music and Robert is your uncle. Worry about audio sweetening and colour correction later

    Hi Quasi!
    I'm glad your on the mend even though you should have never had to heal up from that psycho!
    I was wondering something since your back is hurting so much!
    Have you thought about getting raised Drivers backrest because it can help your back out!
    Quite a few guys that have back problems but still want to ride have said that helps a lot!
    That and a gelatin ring that is supposed to help your cocksicks and back I think that's because of the bumps.
    They make one for the Bergman 650 and there is even videos to help you raise the one you have!
    I know you do not have one of those but you do have a Silver Wing.
    Which is the one motorbike you have that I know they make one for.
    I think it's called Corbin double saddle so you would have to get a whole new seat.
    If you could find one for your PCX150 that would probably be best overall.
    Size and weight wise if you can get on that one of the backrest you should feel a lot better.
    One guy I talked to said he just puts all of his gear behind him so he can lean on it and wears a good inflatable compression belt and then the guy uses a 6 inch wide weight belt like powerlifters do.
    I was in car accident and I don't have the greatest back myself anymore but at times I find putting ice on it helps take the swelling down after eight hours of work.
    Anyway I always enjoy your videos but I just thought I would give you some think about!!!
    Cheers!
    John

    Glad to hear you're getting better and hope you'll find a bike that is less painful. Has the rebel always been a little awkward with it's ergonomics for you?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the support! Yes, the Rebel's ergonomics have always been a bit strange for me, mostly in the arm reach and knee/hip position. I was able to tolerate it before my wreck last October, but now my physical endurance isn't what it used to be. I might install a set of handlebar risers, a different seat, and a footpeg relocation kit to see if I can transform the Rebel's ergo's. If that doesn't work, then I'll either park it for a while (until I heal more, hopefully) or trade it on a different bike. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

      @@QuasiMotard good to know 👍 the silver lining there is that it was always not great fit wise so the injury didn’t introduce a new issue that wasn’t already there, but just made it more noticeable. And from seeing so many rebel reviews that’s a common complaint. Your ideas make a lot of sense and hope they work out 👍
      Really enjoy the content and communications. Wishing you the beat and hoping to see you all healed up and stronger and healthier than ever real soon!

    What do you think of the 2025 SCBR start and end points?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  6 месяцев назад +1

      I'm looking forward to it! The end point in South Padre will be a relatively easy return trip for me. The entire route will still be a long one (~5600 miles) because I'm planning to ride round-trip again.
      I haven't planned anything yet (as usual), so figuring out my route up to Oregon will be interesting. The map shows my distance (avoiding highways) will be ~2550 miles. Neil is already planning his route, and apparently he'll be coming across Texas toward Utah to meet Tyler in Utah. I'll most likely meet up with them for the trek northwest. 😉👍

    Rear view mirror link?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  5 месяцев назад +1

      That's the RiderScan Blindspot Mirror: amzn.to/3nJjXLp . If that one is out of stock, then there are several knock-offs that are cheaper and seem to work almost as well ( amzn.to/49WKaNu ). You can search Amazon or Ebay for "parabolic blindspot mirror" to find alternatives.
      This mirror really helps situational awareness in traffic. There is a learning curve to use it properly because the image is distorted by the mirror's convex shape, but it becomes second nature after a few hours of riding. It's very rare for me to be caught off-guard with a cager hiding in my blind spot while I'm riding with one of these mirrors. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    Not all chiropractors are bad,just like drs.but you need to see a couple if necessary,to see how bad your back is.surgery can help.i had a pinched disc in mine from lifting a pallet at work.first chiro ignored it.second one did an mri to see what was wrong,sent me to a specialist. L5 disc was pinched.the pain ran down my leg.i was on the floor at the mri,it hurt so bad.pinched disc.the surgeon did an excellent surgery,removing just a bit of the disc.took a long time to heal,but no pain!at first i couldnt lift a milk jug.but once healed ,it hasnt bothered me since.that was over20 years ago .he was one of only a few drs.who could do that surgery,called "in a box" just a very tiny scar,smaller then the end of a pencil
