I have this bike (DCT model purchased in 2/2022). I am 5'6"+ and this bike fits me well. One of the primary reasons to purchase this bike was that I could get my feet on the ground. I really wanted a touring bike but it would take too many modifications (not practical) to get to my comfort level. The Honda Rebel 1100 is easy to maneuver in tight spaces and really fun to ride twists and sweeps. I did modify the pegs forward and replaced with larger pegs for riding comfort. I ride mostly in sport mode and find the throttle sensitive, but that just means I need more road time practice. I consider myself an immediate rider having only been riding for 3+ years. I would not recommend this model for a beginner, but that's just my opinion. All in all, I give this bike a thumbs up. Thank you Man Cave Moto for the review - well done.
Like me, with '23 bagger version is what you need for a tourer, an ex-demo DCT should be under £10k by mid-summer '23, you're about £300 for a Mustang seat, and as above, the tank capacity is an issue, but I plan to buy a FCR(France-Google their bikes)or get one made similar... can't think of anything better to ride to southern Europe one...oh, smaller rear sprocket for long haul trips, gearing is a bit low, extend your fuel range too
I have the 2021 DCT version and I ride that thing almost every single day down here in Florida. SO glad I bought it. I've modified the exhaust (Two Brothers Racing), the handlebars (Burly Brand 12" apes) forward controls (T-Rex racing), and finally a deluxe Corbin seat. Now, I'm going to ride the wheels off this thing...cheers!!!
If this bike had been around in 2020 when I started riding and bought my iron 883, I would have absolutely bought this instead, no doubt about it, end of discussion. I loved the whole sportster/cruiser looks and vibe, but with the performance, price, and tech on this bike it would have won me over in a heartbeat. But it wasn’t, and I didn’t get one, and now I’m on Harley number two, a ‘21 Low Rider S. I guess it has worked out for me so far? I do really like this bike still, and would absolutely take this over the new Harley 975 night-bike. Especially with Honda reliability to turn to.
I got an iron 883 right now as well! I'm not sure if I wanna get another harley or not but this 1100 seems to be on the table for me right now more than all the others I've been looking at haha. I was sitting on one of these and messing around with it, and I was shocked to feel how it was much more balanced and lighter than my iron. Granted ive only been riding for close to a year
Just coming up to a year of ownership on my 1100 DCT, the DCT was a bit of a punt but after getting used to it I think its fantastic, I did ditch the suitcase off the side and fitted a two brothers slip on which looks and sounds better, although I did end up fitting the baffle to the TBR which was still louder than the OEM.
As above...Lextek Africa Twin de-cat downpipes (another 40mm of ground clearance), cut then to suit a Lextek MP4 can if you want it quiet, or a Caberre tip from eBay for £32 if you like noise, under £200 from front to rear, and out of the way?
Fabulous video! Informative & beautiful roads to test on... appropriate informed, considered opinions...can see the dial dashboard and how it works in sunlight! Best and probably the fairest review of this bike yet! THANK YOU!
My buddy's son just bought this bike for his first bike. Ive been riding Harley Davidsons for 30 years but Im not a bike snob by any means. I rode his bike, from what Im used to I find it under powered. But....I will say this is a nice bike, especially for a beginner. I will say without a doubt, it is one of the most rider friendly bikes that I have ever rode. I do agree its not a all day cruiser. However, if you're a beginner OR a experienced rider looking for something to ride around town, this is a good choice. Its not a big V Twin or a big heavy smooth riding Harley but it is a hell of a good entry level to intermediate bike. I would recommend it to anyone just looking to get on a bike and not consumed by brand. Its a helluva a fun bike to ride for sure.
I just started riding around spring this past year. I have the 1100 manual version. It’s my first bike and only bike. This Rebel is so much fun to ride. Not to mention the good price Honda has it for. It stays in sports mode. Trying to unleash the max speed but I don’t know how yet. They say this Bike registers at 140mph.
It’s governed at 100mph. You won’t hit anything past that without some electronic trickery. The max recorded speed on it so far is about 104mph. Doesn’t have much guts/gears to go faster. You’d have to get more aero to squeeze some more top end before changing out gearing.
I had a demo on the Rebel 1100 and it is a surprisingly good bike - smooth, quick and easy to get along with, your review is spot on. Although it’s a nice looking bike too, it couldn’t tempt me away from my Triumph Bobber (even at the very reasonable price) - it just lacks a certain “coolness”

thx!.
The radiator ruins it. A bike should be as beautiful as it is good to ride
As far as radiators go - it is actually nice looking in the flesh!
Lost me at DCT. Why not review the manual instead?
Shame, I will do both, why not watch the DCT review instead?
Because your sort should be looking at HD, Indian or Triumph... we're here because of its gearbox, cheapest DCT variant on the 1100's
From the Fury to this eye sore. If it's fugly just paint it black.
They have a black version!
Metallic Bordeaux in the bagger version is the one to go for in '23
@@williamrae9954 Seems like the world has moved on from cruising to adventure bikes. I still think that bike is ugly and it's just a money grab. But I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
@@edhartley5765 40yrs of building bikes, I see what's out there, and what can be done...average ADV rider will never be off-road, I've a Husaberg FE390 for that...auto is the way to go!
Most uncomfortable bike I’ve ever sat on.
Did you ride it?
Really not for me, I think it’s ugly
Stop riding on the wrong side of the road!
No you stop riding on the wrong side of the road! 😉
@@mancavemoto I got the chills watching your vid 😅
