how does it do speed wise? can you still use it as a rock bouncer or is it fully crawler mode now. Im looking at getting a rift but want to be able to slow crawl when I need to and do dirt pile climbs also. I live in the desert so not many rocks.
This climb below was full throttle. I wanted this to be a dedicated crawler, but it still has a bit of punch and kept the bouncer DNA. People can achieve a decent crawl setup on the stock transmission with a larger spur gear and sensored motor setup. ruclips.net/user/shorts6qUmLdrxwD0?si=S4r96VO7jOq7c-5k
@@JPWirt awesome! what sensored motor do you recommend? I was going to put the fusion se 1,800 and keep the stock transmission. is your gearing in this video lower than the factory tranny?
@@760rudogg yes, the StealthX is geared lower than the stock Ryft transmission (which doesn't have much gear reduction). The SE 1800 is a good, inexpensive choice. I wish I had (and still might someday) put a Fusion Pro 2300Kv in it for just a little extra wheel speed and low end control. Also, I would not recommend zero uptravel like I have on mine if you plan on driving at speed.
@@Limitededition-g9k it would, but it has much less gear reduction than a 3-gear or StealthX. People use them though. There's a mod to use a larger spur gear. You'd have to look that up and piece it together though. There's no kit for it that I'm aware of.
So what did you do to slow it down to be able to crawl? Just the transmission swap? Or did you do anything to stock motor/ESC?
@@SuperSam7777 the combination of the transmission swap and the Hobbywing Fusion are what makes it crawl well.

Will the stock transmission work if I have a brushed motor?

Thank you I’m trying to turn my ryft into a rock crawler because I break it every time I drive it😅
