I wouldn't say he's necessarily bringing TD to the next level, but he is achieving much higher recording fidelity than TD did in 1975 (i.e., probably mixing at 192 KHz & 20000Mbps). Live, I'd still give a slight advantage to TD. In any case I agree with you this is some of the finest warm analog electro music in the world, if not THE best. Thank you.
This always fascinated me too but once you understand what he is doing it's not that hard to reproduce the spirit of it. The original was done on a Roland Jupiter-8 using the arpeggiator. Set the tempo to 150 and arpeggiator to 1/8 notes and mode=up, 2 octaves. Then play the chords to the song (pretty much Am, F, G, Bm repeated ad infinitum) but only play the root and fifth and provide some variety by switching between up/down and 1/2 octaves. The bass line is more or less the same except it's two octaves lower, half tempo and you only play the root note (and occasionally play the third instead on the A and F chords for variety).
Superb...this brings me a lot of isolated feelings, nostalgia, and a kind of feeling of a futuristic Reality that never came, .... ............synth music is awesome in a very rare way.
Remember when you bought that album and placed it on the record player? That initial static and then this one came on. Goosebumps. TD was at its peak in the late 70s and early 80, between Force Majeure and White Eagle/Poland.
Wow. Excellent cover. Also, your setup puts the progress of hardware in a certain light. When TD came to Poland they had ,If I remember correctly, 8 semi-trucks of gear. Now ,you can play this masterpiece using a handful of stuff in you studio. That is amazing too.
yes it can be done at home but the sound of the analog equipment of tangerine dream was from another world At home you can dream but with the analog equipment of that time you touched the sky with the palms of your hands 💖
You are like a grandmaster at "Remastering" TD classics, Just as the universe igniting new born starlight that glows brilliantly breaking through all the dark nebulas!!!. I am a true fan of your talent & channel! I'm here for good, there's no getting rid of me this is a fact lol. Loved this cover. Thank You for sharing your work so freely.
Used to listen to this track on repeat while developing photos in the darkroom at college, one of my happiest memories, I LOVED being in there, in the dark, it was so tranquil. Awesome cover. Had to go buy this on iTunes (and 'Love on a Real Train').
Almost forty years have passed since I bought my first TD album, "Thief. In the following years I became a great admirer of this musical group that has a special place in my heart. You friend did a great job, accurate enough to be the best after TD! Keep it up!
Fantastic. You've done an incredible job interpreting / recreating this piece... That album is the soundtrack to a particular moment in time in my life. It took me to an alternate reality and I loved it.
I have been a fan since 1975, and this just brings back all the wonderful times in my life, an amazing group, once you connect and get in the zone, these is no turning back, also there music is great for going out with you camera, believe me, give it a go!!
A slightly different version of the original song (you have to hear them in parallel to notice the differences) was used in an episode of the German crime film series »Tatort«. It was one of the most controversial »Schimanski« episodes: »Das Mädchen auf der Treppe« (the track got that name too) …
Or, maybe team up with Graal and Schiller. Seeing as l' Originale es morte. Would be multitasking a Multiplex anew. Imagine it, Now they would really blow our minds.
Wow, White Eagle has always been a very positive and uplifting piece and you have added a little humor to it. Love it. I have subscribed to and been listening to your channel since I got to work this morning. Although I hear many influences (Vangelis, Steve Roach, Harold Budd, Eno and of course TD...etc.) your own pieces are still very uniquely you. Your TD renditions are very crisp, clean, unique and beautiful. Man keep up the GREAT work!
Thanks for the great feedback. I listen to all those :) Vangelis is a big favourite of mine especially, but I don't think I've ever attempted to cover any of his tunes
It's a pity that TD went in a different direction after the founder past away. Keeping the memory alive with these tributes is just great. You make them sound more delicate and beautiful. I like most of your own work also, but this one lured me into your channel 😀
This is so nice....brushing off the dust and revealing the magic that lies in the old tunes revamped with Swedish synth magic... Keep it up :) Maybe a TGD playlist ?
Just come across this fine vid. TD heroes to me as they and the likes of Brian Eno broke the musical barriers down at the time. Nice cover really enjoyed it.
I definitely have a vision for you guys. It's going to take awhile. We need a piano player, and a violinist. I have both, one a first chair in DSO. Aand her Mother, pianist in same. Both heavy in Lakeway Rockwall.
Bringing Tangerine Dream to the next level is hard, but you did it. One of the best cover-tracks ever.

@@veridical1 You've obviously not hear current TD with Thorsten et al?
I’ve heard a few covers of White Eagle, but none as good as this one! You absolutely nailed the arpeggio/sequences!
Thank you! I had to study the original, note for note..It took some work :)

Another timeless piece.

Such a great cover ... Just great ... Cant believe it ... Please continue ...

Goosebumps ... again
Can't stop listening to it...

I love the phrasing of the melody.
Thank you so much for keeping this so close to the original, ahead of its time.

I'd forgotten just how good 'White Eagle' is, in your capable hands it just got better, many thanks.
Thanks, Rob. The album version of this one and Choronzon are much better mixed/improved.

Für mich das ultimative Stück um die Genialität von TD zu dokumentieren . . . !

I think you should approach the current TD line up and join them. You are so talented my friend

Perfect. RIP Edgar. :(
Great music. I love it.
Thanks!
IT IS A FLIGHT ,, touching the sky !!.
Beautiful
Dieses Stück gefällt mir. Einfach gespielt und viel mehr als andere. Vor allem die Dampflokomotive ist wie wenn ich vor 150 Jahren gelebt hätte. Lach.
Lovely play!

TD went in a different direction, not when Edgar passed away, but 30 years before that, when Johannes Schmoelling left.
Every change of personnel was a change of style. Not always in a good way, but I liked a lot of the album's with Paul Haslinger.
virtually perfect
This is so nice....brushing off the dust and revealing the magic that lies in the old tunes revamped with Swedish synth magic...

Maybe a TGD playlist ?
Thanks from Brazil!
Awesome cover. Thanks Dude. :)
