One thing to mention in regards to these vs viltrox pro series is that the sirui have little to no focus breathing while the viltrox lenses have the worst throughout all x mount lenses
The problem with people is that , they always think that a more expensive lens is better than the cheaper ones but that's not the case . The yongnuo 85mm f1.8 is the sharpest lens ever reviewed by DXOmark but it cost only around $378. Sirui lenses are great and some of them are far better than viltrox lenses . I bought the viltrox 33mm f1.4 , I returned it because it makes a hell of noise and the image was really soft . A more expensive lens does not mean better image quality.
@@pascalbasel Do you know I've had that Sniper lens for like 3 months and I'm like, "Why only one Fstop?!" So I'm guessing if it doesn't have aperture blades it's done through the camera's software?!
Have you tried Fuji's 18mm LM WR 1.4? I'm looking for a versatile video lens for Fuji, but the can't choose between Fuji's 18mm or 23mm. Not really a fan of Sigma, and the new Viltrox 27mm look nice, but it's quite big and has autofocus breathing issues.
Hi Pascal ! Do you have any personal experience or information about whether the Viltrox AF27mm lens responds to the optional AF-C setting? I would like to use it not only for photos but also for videos. I had the Viltrox AF23mm lens and it was not compatible with the optional AF-C setting. At the end of the video you mentioned the basic AF-C setting, so does Sirui support it? Thanks
I think these are APS-C so you'd likely have to use a S35/APS C crop mode in your FF camera if it has one, otherwise it won't cover the whole FF sensor. I wish it were FF but I imagine the cost would be way higher lol
Hi Pascal, der von Dir gezeigte Adapter kann ich irgendwie nicht finden, lediglich ein 1.25x Adapter wird bei Sirui angeboten. Hättest Du mal einen link dazu?
I understand what you’re saying about not having to shoot at 1.2, but it’s not good enough to buy lenses with specs you can’t use. Pointless. Plus, there are lenses like the Viltrox 27mm f1.2 and it’s sharp at 1.2. Certainly a great video, but there are too many compromises.

Thanks for your comment. Haven't really looked for focus breathing, but actually an important point.

Oh! I love character this lens , i think same vintage lens
Did you mostly prefer to use the 33mm?
You can't change the aperture on these. It's 1.2 and that's it. How did you get to change the apertures?
Nevermind! I guess you can do it through the camera!!!!!!
Exactly

@@DavisDaily Of course, via apertue dial on the camera.

Just get the Viltrox, you won’t regret it.

I prefer the viltrox lenses just for the aperture ring
I love your passion 😊
Hi Pascal 🙋🏻♂️... this lenses can be used with full frame cameras?

@allen_bernardo_jr thank you so much for your comment. Yes, my camera has that setting you mentioned.
Do you also teach video editing face-to-face or only online?? Thanks :)
That‘s part of my coaching, but not sure if it’s worth it as you can easily learn that with my courses.
@@pascalbasel Which course would you recommend me for complete beginner? I want to learn making travel documentaries on youtube.
@@Vendos2004 That depends on what you struggle with right now ;-)
