The video shows a quick pass up 40M. The radio sounds better than the video would have you believe (better than I expected). So now the Select-o-Ject circuit is next (Stay tuned Grayson).
A long list of folks helped with bringing this project as far as it has come. The original description was by Bruce Vaughan, NR5Q SK. Jim Stoneback, K4AXF tweaked it and added the Select-o-Ject circuit.
The power supply picture (over on the SolderSmoke blog) shows a ganged potentiometer and two empty sockets. These will be for the Select-oJect.
Anyway, it was a fun build and I learned a lot. Now I'm at the point that Farhan advises to make a cup of coffee and just enjoy listening.

Wow. What a great-looking receiver. The photo of the main chassis on your blog looks nice and clean too Bill. Great job Armand!
Love those front panels!!! 73 - Dino KLØS

Love that build, incredibly retro, so good looking!! And the Select-o-jet makes the lightening crashes sound good!!
Just the knobs and dials ❤️
Beautiful.
I built a regenerative receiver back in 2009 on a pine board using copper brads as the solder points. Wish I still had it.
I had asked for a link to the Direct Conversion receiver in September thinking I'd slowly start in November. You kindly sent me the link & guess what I did? Yep, can't find it in my bookmarks due to having a couple hundred all in one file & I now have the time to....
Could you please send it to me again. I really want to learn the basics regarding a receiver better than what I am familiar with & think this will be a fantastic learning experience.
Thanks Bill...

Also look under TJ DC RX on the SolderSmoke blog.
And just this morning we have a very inspiring video about KQ4AOP's success on this project.
Please let us know about your progress on this. 73 Bill
@@soldersmoke I will.... & thanks....
What finish did he use on those panels? Almost has a porcelain-esk look to it.
Armand wrote: The reason it looks good is because I have a friend who is a graphic designer who took my layout and cut the panels and did the labeling on a CNC machine. My wife then coated the panels with a hard epoxy resin. As Bill would say "cabinetry is not my thing".
Dear Bill,
would you please enable the 'translation' to other (foregion) languages in the describtion? Sometimes it is hard for me, as a not English-tounge viewer of your videos, to understand it all.
(I was looking for 'sub-titles' that can be translate to 'German'as an example, ...! )
Be so kind and switch on the 'translation', it will help me and other viewers, outside tue USA, a lot!
Thanks a lot for your beautifull and ediucational videos, I enjoyed looking this kind of video-clips, very much.
You are never too old, to learn something new, ... even you are more then 60 years old, and an 'old-timer' in HAM-radio, ... !
I'm now retiered and still learning every single day a view new 'things' in my beloved HAM- radio hobby!

Markus: I think we fixed this a while ago. I just make sure the original subtitle language is English. Listeners should then be able to get the translation in any language. See: soldersmoke.blogspot.com/2024/01/spanish-urdu-watch-soldersmoke-videos.html
I was able to see the subtitles in Urdu!
A reader said it worked for him in Greek.
Please let me know if you have any problems with this. 73 Bill
Marcus: On this video there are no subtitles. I think this is because there is no narration -- this is just a bandsweep. 73 Bill
