    Thank you.
So much for having this on RUclips. I have been waiting 2 and a 1/2 years from my husband to fix the dryer. I decided to do it myself. I am totally amazed that I fixed it. Thank you so much.

Rin Country - so glad you did this video . . . yours was the third info I tried and I finally found the same exact model as ours. Thank you.
BTW we had only one baffle loose and I decided to take the screws out and reinstall them with lock (and flat) washers.

I wondered what was making a racket in my dryer, and I found a baffle that was coming loose. So I went on RUclips to see if I could fix it. I’m 77 years old and your video was perfect! You showed everything in detail and my dryer is now quiet and sounds like it used to. Thanks a bunch!

Thanks a lot. We have only had our baffles loosen in the past. 1st time we had a Maytag repairman out and I took notes on what he did. He also recommended greasing the tumbler with turbine oil. I've had to "tighten" them twice again over the years and we finally had one break after my wife put some tennis shoes in there. Do you have any comments on greasing the tumbler? Just curious. Again, thanks for your video! Very helpful!!!

So nice to see someone else fix their appliances. Every time my hubby fixes one of ours he says, "& just think most people would just throw this away and buy a different one." He's right! My start switch went out on my 23-year-old dryer a few months ago & he fixed it. The element has gone out and he fixed it. The washing machine has cogs that turn it and they like to break on occasion and he's fixed those. Men like you are far and few between. I so appreciate that you fix things instead of disposing of them. We use everything until it's dead in the dirt. Love & Light my friends!

Sounds like you got a handy guy! It is a expendable and disposable world in which we live. Fixing your own stuff takes effort and time which a lot of folks don't want to expend. Thanks for hanging out with us!

Very valuable and well done. Your extra words advise and tidbits about hooks and the little detail sets you apart and above the from purely mechanical and dry presentations and the others we always see who turn the camera on and record and publish all of their mistakes and time they took unscrewing every single fastener. This is very effectively edited

Thank you Charles, I try to edit his videos so the important things are shown and said but take out all the excess that people should be able to figure out, such as taking out every single screw

First off: I'm not trying to be a smart aleck.
I've owned and used clothes driers for 46 years.
I've had three different brands of driers (gas and electric), but never a Maytag.
I've never worn out or had a baffle break.
The longest I've used a drier was 16 years and it still worked when I gave it away. (gas Kenmore)
Changed mutiple drive belts and two electric heating units.
    Serious question.
What were you guys running in the drier that broke or wore out the baffle?

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  5 лет назад +2

Our dryer is at least 15 years old and though we hang most of our laundry all year round, when we do use it, it is usually for heavy things like my homemade denim quilts with wool dryer balls. However, I do not think these items are the reasons, I believe it may have been faulty construction on this model's baffles and the cheap plastic used (it was the plastic parts that the bolts go into that broke). Either way, I believe it will last us many more years to come. Nothing else on the dryer has needed replacing in the time that we have owned it.

Three factors would contribute to baffle failure:
      1.) Engineered obsolescence
      2.) Overloading
      3.) Heidi
