    It should be a crime that dryers are so poorly engineered that one needs to MacGyver solutions using paint stirrers, microfiber wrapped screwdrivers, and coat hangers to clean the vents. Seriously, wth?!

      It's a racket I guess. They probably get kickbacks from the repair companies.

      And why the hell aren’t the narrow hose attachments that come with a vaccuum at least like a foot long? Flexible? I mean come on… what are we doing as a species???
      Would’ve made this whole thing so much easier.

      they probably do it on purpose so then people will call the maintenance just to clean the vents while the price of just cleaning it will be alot

      @@user-mk1db7fm9v They have….it’s called “buy a new dryer”🤣 I did find a vacuum cleaner attachment that can slide down the filter slot.

    Great video. How about the dryer vent cleaning kit with the hose that attaches to the vacuum! Also, people need to clean the exit screen - where it leaves the house! This can get packed with lint also and needs to be cleared! (More video ideas for ya!)

    My lint trap started to slightly lift on one side. Clothes started to get stuck on a corner and turned the whole load of clothes into a “clothes tornado” that I had to untwist. I trimmed the now gnarled plastic and even sanded it smooth. Still happened. To my horror there is a huge chunk of lint UNDER the trap! They sure don’t make it easy to reach though! Why!?
    It was like a damn brick 🧱 lol
    I came here looking for tips on how to possibly reach the bit I can’t seem to get, thanks a bunch!

    Bruh, literally, unscrew 2 or 3 screws that hold the plastic grate in place and stick your vacuum hose in it.
    You just made things so difficult for yourself and others.

    I've always had good luck taping an auto heater hose to a shop vac attachment, and working the hose in to the space. You can get it pretty clean, along with the paint stick idea.

    I have this same dryer and just used one of those long flexible lint brushes to stick down in there. I didn't even know this area existed but now I'm paranoid because I couldn't get all of the dust and hair out since my vacuum is too this to stick in there...

    How do i prevent the lent seeping out of the hose causing lent to fly around the laundry closet? I live in an apartment and the landlord won’t have maintenance secure the hose because I the W/D is their property (mine) and a handyman won’t do it because they don’t want to damage the apartment’s wall by securing it?

    I do the "minimum" every single time I use the dryer
    Every four months or do I'll clean out the other bits of lint underneath it. Perhaps not every month as yourself
    My dryer also sends me an alert to clean our the "plinth" filter too which is decent

    Is it possible to agitate fibers and move them deeper into the machine, making the fire hazard harder to reach and thus worse?

  • @ncooty
    @ncooty 5 месяцев назад

    Just buy an appliance brush. They work for fridge coils, A/C coils, radiators, lint traps, etc.
    You can also blow the lint in and open from the back to clean the exhaust fan, coils, etc.

    Thanks for the video. I thought that if the vent is clean and the duct in the back was clean, that was all that was needed. Sad that companies actually create a fire hazard by creating a situation where there's "hidden" lint.

  • @SR-cz5yy
    @SR-cz5yy 2 месяца назад +1

    That dryers are designed badly. Can't open the vents to remove the lint. It really is a fire hazard and expensive to replace. Especially now that only condenser dryers are only available!!
