  • Examples of the most popular selection of Caruso exercises with voice demos and scores.
Enrico Caruso loved warming up with a cello, so this program is made with cello as a warm up instrument.

I've been really digging these exercises the last couple of days. I love the cello backing. The Cello is the closest instrument to the human voice.

I just can't believe Caruso's actual vocal exercises/warm-ups were ever discovered at all. For a man who contributed so much to the world of music with his god-given gifts, who has no known interviews or memoirs in existence it's like we have a little intimate part of Caruso with us ever time we play/ or sing these exercises.

not true! I own two books, one written by Caruso and Tetrazzini and another written by Marafioti with Caruso actively working alongside him and giving his opinions and blessing to be studied and written about - both beautiful works

Yours is the most enlightened and intelligent method of singing
On The Internet. It is frightening to see the so-called voice teachers who have no idea how to sing themselves. They sound like crap. They are dispensing so much misinformation and making money at the same time. Just a note for you, Caruso did not have a High C and could not sing the last exercise that you attribute to him.
Someday I'll put my singing approach online. It involves intense strengthening of the diaphragm. No one else but me uses vocal exercises specifically targeting those muscles. It is rather elusive for singers to find those muscles and use them much less to train them. Professional opera singers eventually find and develop these muscles by doing a lot of singing constantly. Voice students can find and develop support quickly which is elusive to even the best students. All the talk and explanations don't help people to find solid support.

I'm actually going to try these along with the exercises from Part 1. The sound interesting to do. It'll be a nice change from my usual major & minor scales.

The last exercise is a killer at first. Franco. That low C though, really opens up for the high C. It keeps your larynx down in the correct position to hit that high C. Your throat has to be in one position and open if you are doing it right, it should not budge at all through out the whole exercise and that is exactly how I feel. I also don't feel intentional force except trying to feel the connection with my support.

I thought slight movement and slight change of throat positioning was innocent. This, I realized, it is not. Amazing.

Any advices for phrasing, mr Tenelli??... mine sucks hahahaha. I'm just starting to reach the A and the Bb... but for example i use some phrases from Il mio Tesoro Intanto to enhance my phrasing, but it simply isn't enough. I'm always running out of air. May this be psychological?. Am I using so much air per syllab?.
