@@TheUnknownBeekeeper Just one thought. The force of the blow on this one was very small. Usually such hammers work the opposite way - hammer is lifted by some kind of spring. Strong just enough to lift that hammer up. And the blow force is applied with foot. This way you can greatly increase the blow force. Example for an easy build: ruclips.net/video/HpNKMhdLWRo/видео.html&ab_channel=BIGDOGFORGE
More of a tredal hammer? ...not sure spelling on that... Maybe be better if you change it to large chunk of metal and do it straight up and down be less hits but more metal moving per hit. But good job non the less.
Was just tinkering and is what I came up with, prob could use refinements, but it's gone with the forge , I see a pic or video of something, then I build my version like the mini smokehouse i built and observation bee hive currently building
I went with the davinci cam helve hammer. (I bet yours could be adapted). Yes, electricity is required, but I get a LOT of work out of it. ruclips.net/video/gtB9pSdjAuU/видео.html
@@TheUnknownBeekeeper I have no doubt you will figure it out. Gear reduction was what I had the most trouble with. The lower rpm motor you start with the better.
@@TheUnknownBeekeeper The problem I have found with that is that using a dimmer switch to control rpm (by reducing voltage) is that it also reduces torque.
As you are correct, When I first made this ,it had a motor for powering hammer part, but needed more refining, never looked up each name of unit Thanks
Nice tinkering. I bet your mind is plowing through ideas at 3am too.
Thanks ,Yes all the time
I can look at a picture and most times build it,or build my own version of something
You could add a spring to the body and handle on either side of the pivot point to get more power
Thanks for the suggestion
The next one I build I'll include that into it
nice job
Thanks
Beautiful
Neat design. Did you ever add a motor? Would be great to see you work with it.
I got rid of this one and the forge but have another forge in box ready to put together and rethinking a new design for a hammer

Nice👍
Might want to look up a DaVinci hammer.
I will look at it,
I looked at videos of it ,seems you need a motor to run it,were as mine is human powered ,so could be used anywhere

Yes I had a cam of sorts built and a motor, it needed more revisions to work right, I put this together in a couple hours ,

@@BlackPowderGeek you can use a light dimmer switch to reduce motor power ,I sold this and a single forge day I posted ,still have unboxed forge

My man, that's called a treadle hammer, not a power hammer
