Super7 ultimates are amazing for in box collectors. you can take the sleeve off and they all look great but if you take them out of the box, you have to have figure stands and most of the time you'll need some future floor polish or clear coat paint to thicken up joints because the QC is very bad thanks to them picking some poor manufacturers.
This is spot on. I was so wide-eyed the first half of this video. In box they do look truly fantastic
Happy I kept mine in the packaging!
@@CringerKitty haha. Yeah!
I won't buy acting super 7 or neca because of these issues
@@fillerbunnyninjashark271 I have no issues with NECA
Most super7 reviewers are either disappointed or just flat out feel it’s overpriced. They have the coolest properties and sculpts, but they just don’t hit like the 3D renders.
Renders should never be used in final marketing. What a disappointment
Hell, Beast Kindom does a better job with their Disney figures.
@@LegoManiac_101 just learned about them and ordered their Scrooge a couple days ago. Haha
Seeing your enthusiasm at the start of the review, I was anxious about where it was going to go terribly wrong.
Hahaha. Oh, man. I can still feel the heartbreak
Next time, he should leave some suspense in the title
@@LeeEricsson maybe! Still my most viewed video
Super7 was great during their hay day in the MOTU Classics line. Since then, they have spread themselves out too much and taken on too many IPs. Because of that, they’ve had massive failures in the QC department resulting in things like this. It’s not to say they still don’t have great figures…they do…but it’s very much hit and miss with far more misses as of late.
It's just cost cutting greed. Maintaining QC standards aren't affected by quantity. Hallmark puts out MLLIONS of $8-25 licensed ornaments w/ amazing QC a year.
Yeah, you may be right. I keep seeing characters they are releasing and I get excited until I remember this one. I would be down with SpongeBob and Patrick, too if they worked better than this
Good point!
They weren't even great then tbh. Their first wave of Ultimate MOTUC figures on the vintage style cardbacks were great (although that's likely because those were made in the Mattel factories), but we saw everything from fragile parts, low quality plastic, poorly engineered articulation, and poor color matching. Luckily the movie figures were really high quality, but most of their stuff (especially from the Filmation Club Grayskull line) was a mess.
I would argue they weren't great then. They only did a few waves and there were issues there too. Mattel did the majority of MOTUC, Super 7 were the tail end.
They're not the best in terms of QC compared to pricepoint. But for some of these properties, it's the only option (so glad to have practically finished Thundercats at last).
I will say, in terms of complaining about lack of extra torso in the review to make two figures - this is pretty standard with a lot of lines. They're not in the business of giving you two figures, lol.
It was my favorite movie growing up. The music , the characters and voice actors were awesome.
Yes! Nobody can compare to that Sheriff voice! Haha
Super 7 is a line I just don’t get. They’d be ok for around $20 but $55, that’s insane pricing and some people just love it. I’ll never understand
I won’t either. Crazy to me
I don't understand why people think articulation needs to be where the limbs can bend in unnatural directions. Are you gonna pose all your figures in break dancing poses? No! Single joint is just fine for 99.9% of normal poses.
Who said that?
Aw man I'm so sorry to see it turned out like this! I actually regretted skipping out on this preorder but this made me feel better in that regard.
It's such a shame, this movie was a big part of my childhood too and I never thought we'd get an articulated version of Disney's Robin Hood.
I've been dubious of Super 7, I got their Casey Jones and it's just such a weird toy, especially for the price.
If they lower the price or drastically improve their quality I’d be happy. I see this as a discounted brand only
I can relate! I was stoked for their TMNT line at first, but was quickly disillusioned after my first unboxing.
Low quality paint, loose joints, and the end product looks nothing like the marketing photos....that seems to be where all their money goes. Figures on their website look meticulously painted and posed, but is far from what you actually get.
The best thing about their figures is the box, which is sort of emblematic of their company as a whole. It has the appearance of quality, but not so much up close.
Great point! Packaging is maybe excessive and likely a big cost for their production of each figure.
Exactly. Kinda like the reaction figures they do. Those things aren’t even meant to be opened. What’s the point?
I would love to see you get your hands on and review some of those ridiculous $20, 5 POA Super7 ReAction figures……
Not a style of figure I’m into, but I fear I would be less happy too
Great review. I collected the TMNT ultimates but stopped after wave 4 once I had all four turtles. For the price they need better articulation and less QC issues.
Thank you! Lower the price or fix the product
Yeah I think super7 does great packaging. U get a protective shipper, a nice art sleeve, then a window package. But clearly seems like a first ultimate for him. Good luck, lol and Robin Hood is also my favorite old school 2d animated Disney movie. One for the boys lol
Messed with Prince John today and it’s not as bad as Robin Hood. Partially lowered expectations but also just not as bad overall. His ankles are worthless though. Zero support
No I agree with everything you said. Super7 out the gate and Bryan has said as much on interviews that he wants super7 to be a higher class toy hence the price point. But aside from packaging that I really do like they have A Ton of issues and don’t live up to the name he wants to make or justify the price. They do look nice. I’m not an in box collector though I want them to pose and function. 🤦♂️
@@Haveunerd what do we need to do to get him to listen?? Haha
Living in the EU I’ve only recently come across Super 7 (on a search specifically for “Robin Hood” figures - take note Disney) & got excited for these figures. I ordered Prince John/Sir Hiss which arrived but haven’t actually posed or inspected much. Today I ordered Robin Hood (seemed logical if I’m to make a diorama but had difficulty locating in EU & had considered having imported from US but baulked at the Import Charges). Having secured an EU distributor I forked out the €90, then came across this review. I just hope my excitement of my purchase doesn’t get me as dejected as the review alludes to. I’ll post again when the figure arrives & let you know. 🤞🏻
I hope your experience is better than mine! Let me know what you think!
3:03 Well, now you know why! The toy photographer was like screw this, just use the bloody 3D renders to pose the damn things!
They always do these renders-only and its annoying
Yep. I broken the head right away. I am trying not to cry. I was trying to change the head.... The post broke.
Oh no!!! I’m sorry. Contact them if you get a chance. They sent me a replacement
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Thank you for the advice. I just wrote to them. This is my favourite Disney movie of all times and I jumped for joy when I saw the stork outfit!
@@SketchyMarieArt I definitely feel your pain!
@@NostalgiaUnboxed They did send me a replacement! :) I just received it. Rudy was very nice and helpful. :)
@@SketchyMarieArt that’s great!!
One of the biggest issues with S7 is that they often shy away from paint apps and instead try to cast everything in the "more or less" correct colors from the get go. In consequence, the figures all look a bit 'meh', unfortunately. When they do go full in on the paint (which they do for some figures), the products can look quite amazing tho. Muckman from TMNT would be an example of that. The excess of accessories is just another thing that gets a lot of people upset (me too); they seem to use it as an excuse to hike the prices, but most of the stuff is utterly useless.
Perfectly said
Thanks for your honest review!
My pleasure. Thank you!
He went from seemingly psyched about the figure to completely distraught 😅 I know that feeling, such a bummer. Thank you for the review, however!
Haha. Yeah, not a good experience with Super7!
I have totally given up... Super7 is constantly doing that to me! They get me hyped up for a specific character only to let me down when I get the figure in hand (mainly all QC issues)... now I just look at the pretty promotional images, that way I don't have the negative side of it all hehehe anyway... great review. oh not to mention the time they take to deliver stuff from PO to finished product. :(
It’s really awful and I’m sorry. Sounds like you have dealt with way more than I have. Notorious BIG preorder is now and comes 2024. That’s insane
@@NostalgiaUnboxed sadly yeah I have had several bad experiences... but I reached the tipping point. looking forward to more content from you.
@@brunosantinho372 that sucks!
i was so excited for these when i first saw them since Robin Hood is my favorite Disney movie but after i saw a review of John i had to cancel them because he just looked so terrible in the video. if i can ever find them for a good half off deal i'll grab them to keep in the box but overall, my streak of passing on Super 7 remains unbroken.
It’s really sad! Definitely my favorite Disney movie as well, so it makes the end result worse I think. Would love these to be half priced
Informative vid. I usually don't shop Super 7 because of price, but they got me with the characters from this line. I did go in cautiously and only pre-ordered Robin to see what it's about. Still haven't got it, so thanks for the heads up. One time I'm not jealous of OOB collectors.
Haha! Yeah, keep it in the box 😭 I ordered mine from BigBadToyStore and it came quick. EntertainmentEarth seems very slow and Super7 said they haven’t even gotten their own stock to ship yet.
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Definitely staying in the box now. Ha. You nailed it! I went EE for this one.
I already reviewed prince John a few months ago and let me tell u .. same issues.. i cancelled all my super 7 pre orders after that .. but i kept Robin hood just to have him pair up with prince John .. haven't received it yet but I'm sure I will be disappointed
Oh man…. That sucks! What a disappointment and to not even include a fat stack of gold coins?? Lol
Oh ya, my prince John crown broke so careful with that

Sadly around wave 3 of the TMNT Ultimates and everything after Super7 is just delivering trash products. I had 5 waves of Silverhawks preordered and just cancelled everything.
It's so heartbreaking! I'm sorry
That's impressive since only 3 waves of Silverhawks have been available for preorder and no 4th or 5th wave announced unless I missed something
@@cptspeedy509 you're right, 3 waves plus the throne. I also cancelled some TMNT, Thundercats, Simpsons and Disney figures so it felt like there were more Silverhawks too.

Yes!! And much easier to work with. Haha
we need more figure reviews like this from disney great review
Thank you
I never bought a single Super 7 because of the price. Also, whenever I read people commenting Super 7 product, it's usually "overpriced, horrible QC, badly engineered". It's pretty sad because they actually happen to look nice, but when you charge high prices, you need to deliver with the quality.
absolutely! Prince John is MUCH better looking to me. Just posted that review and when I put them both on my shelf, I really don't care for Robin Hood, but I'm ok with Prince John. It's so weird. Maybe it's the cloth robe. They are good if you buy them greatly discounted lol
Yeah, when all that stuff was laid out, you said it: overwhelming. So many parts that are barely different than one another... eugh. There really isn't anyone just making normal Disney figures these days. Would love to see "slim" Ultimates for cheaper without all the extra stuff.
It’s wild. I think two figures in a set with less accessories would be fine. They could release accessory sets later on. Just get the characters that have never been made like this before
Interesting review, I agree that you can't really touch him once you set him up but that's okay for me. Regarding the quiver fitment, you may have better luck fitting it so that it is slung over his right shoulder, he's right handed and will draw an arrow from over his right shoulder. Also mine fits nicely this way. In any case, thank you for the thorough review.
I can try flipping the quiver. I referenced a frame from the movie and the way it is shaped seems to make sense to lay flat on this side. Does the quiver stick up on his shoulder and waist for you?
@@NostalgiaUnboxed it does seem to sit better on his shoulder and hang at the waiste for me with it on the right side. I would send you a pic but can't on here. I did find that fitment is better that it being slung over his left shoulder.
@@jeramybrock272 thank you for sharing. I’m not sure if it makes me happier or more upset with the design now. Haha! I’m on Twitter if you want to share pictures there

I like their ReAction figures. I never bought a ultimate from them.
Only buy them discounted if you decide to try one
Ya I’m a sucker for their Thundercats stuff, mainly because they are the only ones making them at the moment. But those have had a ton of issues. Also being in Canada after shipping and exchange each figure is almost $100! Insane.
Omg, that’s absolutely crazy! Haha I would never pay that. Are they not being sold later for less like most of their stuff?
@@NostalgiaUnboxed I wish, if anything the Thundercats stuff goes up in price. 😒🥲
@@bravestarr1987 well that’s a bummer
Super 7 just released Transformers Bludgeon. The helmet can't fit on the head fully, the cannon can't stay on the arm, the articulation is poor, it took about 2 years after preorder, no refunds or cancellation for pre-order if you get it directly from them (but you do get refund or cancellations via other websites if you order the same item from them) and other issues. Other TFs they've tried have also had bad design (such as Targetmaster accessories not actually working properly), etc.
They also just showed the 3D render for Bludgeon too. Apparently, they didn't even figure designing or getting production ready until they get their orders, which is why it takes so long to get them and why the QC issues are bad. They are basically a crowd-funded company posing as a legit retail company.
What an absolute nightmare. They are constantly attacking themselves with ridiculous choices. So many items being cancelled and delayed it’s not looking good for them
If you only see renders on your preorders, thats a red flag, a big one.
Absolutely!
I've pretty much given up on Super7, and only have one figure pre-ordered from them now, which is Triceraton from their TMNT line.
I really hope they hit the reset button on their manufacturing
Great review. It seems like Super 7 figures look great but the QC seems very problematic.
Yep! I want a lot of their stuff based on photos (or renders) but not now
If it was 30, it would be a great piece to have, but 55 for that is nuts.
Totally agree!
I got bad news for you: prince John is WAY bigger than Robin -to the point that they’re not even in scale with each other
Well, that’s exciting…. 😭
If you see something of theirs that looks cool, count to 7 and leave it. Gives enough time for nostalgia to leak away uncovering reality
Hahaha perfect
I would put peg holes in the feet w a hand drill.
Yes, that’s definitely the solution, but for $55 nobody should have to also own a power tool. Haha
I have a Rocketeer figure, which I really looked forwards to getting - but, on receipt, he had the floppiest leg joints you could imagine. In the end, I posed him, and glued his legs up so he didn't move. Very poor indeed.
Oh, man. That’s disappointing. I didn’t know they made one!
@@NostalgiaUnboxed - It was from just before they called themselves 'Super 7'. They made a range of 3.75" figures for Funko, one of which was The Rocketeer. (Really nice; even has the chewing gum on the rocket pack) Then they started making 6" tall figures including The Rocketeer. A favourite movie, so I had to have one. A friend of mine has one too, but he never unboxes his figures, so he's not bothered if the joimts are floppy or not.
@@brianartillery wild! My best friend loves that movie and has plenty of statues. Is this not worthy hunting down then?
@@NostalgiaUnboxed This was several years ago, and I'm not sure if it would still be available. Diamond Select make a 7" version of The Rocketeer, which looks superb - here in the UK it costs about £30. That's probably your best bet - I couldn't recommend the Funko/Super 7 one in all honesty - I might get one of the Diamond Select ones, but I'm more interested in the robots from 'The Black Hole' (a great guilty pleasure of mine) which were released alongside him. Now they (Maximillian, V.I.N.Cent, and Old B.O.B.) look astonishing, in 6'' scale.
Oddly, all the 3.75" figures I have from Super 7 are lovely. They all have that 1970's Kenner figure feel about them. The 'Firefly' set is a favourite of mine, as is the Run DMC set.
@@brianartillery gotcha! Thank you so much. Yeah, that Kenner style is fun
Super7 have given me a great nostalgia boost especially for the original Playmates tmnt line… so instead of paying 100 australian Dollarydoos per figure with questionable QC, i went vintage. Thanks B Flynn and the team at Super7.
Haha. Brutal. I wish they would focus more on pushing up the quality of a few lines rather than pushing tons of mediocre figures from too many lines
@@NostalgiaUnboxed they have been cancelling waves recently due to lack of interest, which should be demonstrative of a lack of interest in the product they’re producing. If they raise quality, they’ll raise interest.
@@ADAM_COLLECTS I’m also wondering if they are trying to lean into the idea they are “made to order”. They always said this but the amount of stuff on other websites at discounted prices makes me think they aren’t really made to order. And canceling these render-only-figures could be a fake way to push demand. Like, you better buy now or they will be canceled like the others!
@@NostalgiaUnboxed you make a solid point, however, I think some retailers have deals with S7, like BBTS. They invest in certain IP's, TMNT best example and I know in Australia Popcutcha is the only retail option to buy S7 from... you can buy from BBTS but its usually not terribly competitive price-wise
The prince john from the line wasn’t the worst
Recorded that today, actually and he doesn’t seem as bad. His ankles have zero support though so I can’t really get him to stand easily
Always loved the movie, still is and always will be my favorite old school Disney animation movie, with fox and the hound close 2nd
Oh nice second place option!
I felt the same about super7 Krang, especially with the walker feet. I really am hoping the super7 G.I. Joe is good but who knows if they will ever get released and I think the hands are too much, 3 sets is enough, but glad I am not the only one noticing this.
They do reply to emails so I highly suggest everyone let them know their thoughts on things like Krang
I always check reviews before I even consider a figure which isn't often since I find the wildly overpriced compared to other toylines both domestic and imported.
The only time I ever came close to buying was their Iconic Pose movie Conan but when I saw video reviews, the figure was super glossy instead of matte and the face looked nothing like Arnold.
Good review!
Thank you! Yeah, it’s really unfortunate that it doesn’t look like Arnold
I think something happened at Super 7's factory within the last year, because alot of the Ultimates from within that time frame have lots of problems.
I ordered a TMNT Ultimates Ray Fillet in May of 2021. I received him in October of 2022- a year and 5 months later and Ray's hips are SUPER loose. A figure that was pre-ordered over 16 months later should not have ANY problems.
I wanted to get this Robin Hood as I'm a fan of that movie too, but these issues are definitely giving me pause for $55 a whack.
Maybe too many projects going on and then spread themselves too thin. It’s sucks. Sorry about your Ray
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Yeah I think that has a LOT to do with it. There's also a LOT of time out between when you pre-order, and when the item is created, shipped and then mailed to you. Alot of the time Super7 is selling you 3-D CAD files from their computers and not photos of a tangible, physical object.
During a video interview Pixel Dan did with Brian from Super7 back during the Pandemic, Brian had made a comment that always stuck with me. He said something to the effect of, it was nice not having conventions to go exhibit at all the time as they didn't have to actually bring physical prototypes to the show to set up. I think part of the problem with that thought process is, you might find flaws in the design with physical prototypes that you could miss while 3-D designing it. TMNT Ultimates Wave 5 all around the series has problems with loose joints, Jay from Geek Dad Life here on RUclips did a video a few days ago about it and shows some videos from other collectors with Sewer Samurai Leo's hips and head bobbling around like a marionette. And for figures that were pre-ordered in May of 2021 and showed up at people's houses in October of 2022- there really isn't any good explanation why after nearly 15 months those figures didn't leave the factory perfect. If they can't do that in 15 months, what makes us think they can handle it in 12?
@@TheBoglin yeah, I saw his video too. (Geek dad). Sounds like Brian isn’t a collector and purely in it for the busy and profit, while also not being good at business. You HAVE to produce the item to test it. “User Experience” testing. It’s as old as time.
The “prototypes” they have in their recent video for SpongeBob looks like they have made failed items already. If you watch it look for the moment he places Squidward on the table while in his hand. The knees have absolutely no support and that’s while he is still supporting it with his hand!
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Yeah I don't know exactly where Brain's head is with some of these. They strike me more as a "Art Toy Company" where they just make high-end stuff. Some of their ReAction stuff is pretty solid, but you're talking about typically 7 parts vs 30+ on the Ultimates figures. More parts and articulation doesn't always equal better products, as you said, you have to have it in hand to test it. I make my own resin Glyos compatible toys and I make sure my stuff is perfect before I sell it to people, and I always make sure my sculpts have feet that allow them to stand. That's because, like so many of us, I've had figures swan-dive off of shelves and that's something that irks the hell out of me. I'll have to check that SpongeBob video out for sure now.
I got the TMNT Ultimates Scratch from Wave 6 and he didn't have any issues so I dunno if Super7 is on top of these issues and correcting them in future waves, or they are just all over the place and just get lucky from time to time.
@@TheBoglin sounds like pride in your work, which is great. Perhaps that got lost over the years with too many people and steps along the way. It’s a bummer, but I would want to stay heavily involved if I was running a company like this.
For what it's worth, I kept up with Super7 to collect the core ThunderCats team after Mattel dropped it. To Super7's credit, they admitted that the initial run of Cheetara was so bad by their standards that they had to redo it, and both Cheetara and Tygra took forever to show up. (In Super7's defense, there was a certain pandemic going on that slowed everything down, so I'm not going to blame them for that.) I also later ordered and received Lynx-O and Ben-Gali. I have to say that the only figure I have a slight issue with is Tygra, whose colors seem a little off, and his legs are a little loose at the hips. But not severely. I do agree that the figures are astronomically expensive (and they can keep Snarf), but I'm not disappointed to finally have a really good team of ThunderCats figures between Mattel and Super7. I'm sorry you had an unpleasant experience with Robin Hood. The core figure looks fine, but it also looks to be like they over-accessorized him to justify the price tag on a relatively small figure.
I’m glad your experience has been better. Sounds like you have a nice set. If they new, and admitted, that Cheetara was so bad what did they do to fix it?
@@NostalgiaUnboxed I think they had to redo the entire run. As such, there was a significant delay on Cheetara, and Super7 was nice enough to throw in an extra alternate head since we had to wait. I honestly don't recall what the problem was. I think it was just an overall "horrendous quality" issue.
I've only ever gotten one Super7 figure (Muck Man) and I had a similar experience.
The brand has a nice initial impression but you discover all the issues when you handle them. Since then, it's become really apparent with the way the company approaches things. Constant delays, high prices, useless articulation, bad QC, and worst of all, the product never looks or performs as good as the digital renders.
Super7 is the only brand that you can regularly and easily find on sale. The aftermarket prices are lower than msrp. That's all you need to know.
I have no idea what the folks over there are doing but I have no interest in ever buying another figure.
It’s incredibly unfortunate, too. So many good looking items that fall flat. How is there no internal concern about this? Surely that have to see this will be a slow way to kill itself.
Man it sucks that this figure ended up being bad, i really like the sculpt of the figure
I still hate it after all this time. Lol. I wish it was better
Welcome to Super7.
Lol! 😂
I tend to prefer high details to posing with ugly joints
Sounds like statue figures are more your vibe. I like to have the ability to pose my figures instead of standing still. I usually have them all interacting in some was like a scene
New to the channel and enjoying what ive watched so far!, I only have one Super 7 figure which is Panthro from Thundercats line. My experience with him is luckily the exact opposite as you had with Robin Hood. The only complaint I had was that the chain for the nunchucks was too long but the figure itself is solid, tight but not too tight joints, great paint, etc... I have heard that S7 can be hit or miss. I'd also imagine that the licensing for Disney is way more than Thundercats so maybe they used cheaper manufacturers to maintain margins.......?
Thanks so much! New channel altogether, so thank you for watching!
Fair point about the licensing. Sad they didn’t push for higher quality to keep Disney happy, though I imagine they don’t care too much. Glad your Panthro is good!
Let's give it a goo👍
The face sculpt doesn't really capture Robin Hood's likeness all that well in my opinion, it almost looks like Tod from The Fox and the Hound.
You’re not wrong!
Great review, just subscribed! Love to see unboxings like this
Thank you so much!
Listen brother, I don't know how long you've been collecting but let someone like myself who has been around a very long time lend some advice, any new loose joint can easily be fixed, I use Kiki oil, it's specifically for action figures, I know some use floor polish, I prefer Kiki though, try it, you'll thank me later. Good luck brother.
I appreciate it. I have a pretty solid opinion that a $55 figure shouldn’t have so many issues, but solution or not, I don’t really want to make those part of the review process.
@@NostalgiaUnboxed I get it brother and I truly understand, trust me after you use Kiki you'll be pretty happy after that

Excellent video. This was recommended to Me on my main feed, thankfully. After the video, I had to Subscribe. Incredible breakdown of the figure.
I'm fairly new to Super7, but I own Muckman and Mutagen Man from their TMNT Ultimates line. They are Amazing, works of art to Me. Thinking about going all in on that line, but I've heard some stuff that makes me wonder. 😳
Very kind of you, thank you! Based on the comments it seems the most recent wave of TMNT has poor quality control compared to the older items. If you can get stuff discounted it’s likely worth it. But all their newest stuff seems off
I've been having problems swapping heads with the Super 7 Moonwatcher 2001 figure. They've been great at replacing the figures, but I'm afraid to test the latest one I got.
Crazy! Just got Prince John in and his heads are actually very easy to deal with. Mostly because he has a thicker ball and socket. But his ankles have absolutely no support
I have tmnt super7 figs and I can agree not having holes in the feet are silly. And some paint is a bit too shiny. Only worth it if you get them for under $40 and have nostalgia for the old figs they're based on. And ya joints can be loose too
I don’t understand what they are doing with the feet. It’s not like they are improving them without the hole. Lol
I can't get mine to stand at all. Just the base figure, haven't even tried the stork. I got mine for $25 and I feel like it was a rip off.
Man, I know it lol
I can deal with these issues to get these characters. Sadly, they seem to be going more mainstream with this line now. I haven’t received wave2 yet though. Anyone else?

Joe B.A.T. and when I got it out of the box it was all loosey goosey in the joints...I purchased four of them and have all the other Joe waves preordered. I can't cancel because it's through their site. I am beyond sad that I can't cancel them and return these B.A.T.s. I'll be cherry picking only my most wanted moving forward. Also I ordered the Turtle Van through them and I'm so sad I can't cancel it. Thankfully I ordered the Thundertank through BBTS which I've already canceled.
Absolutely! And it’s all so random depending on the line
I mean $50 is pretty standard retail for figures that aren’t sold at WalMart.
Mythic Legions, Savage Crucible are same price and they don’t have to pay a license fee.
I don’t buy shoes at Walmart or Target so I certainly wouldn’t buy figures there as well.
Been waiting like 2 years for this and now I dont even want it.
Yeah, never pre-ordering figures again after this.
Not with these folks, anyway. Plenty of good brands out there that I feel comfortable preordering from, but Super7 isn’t going to be one of them.
I ordered Lady Jaye and Baroness from Super7. Now I am worried. Your review has got me thinking. I don't know if I should cancel or just let it be. It's my first purchase from Super7
I would read some comment here and get an idea. Sounds like older stuff was better but not great
The entire concept of “Ultimates” is a joke. It’s just a way for Super7 to have ridiculous prices for figures people want and no one else is making. 99% of the accessories stay right into the box. Unfortunately, they have a stranglehold on action figures for a few IPs right now: Thundercats, Silverhawks, Toxic Crusaders and Disney. At least with Turtles, you have Neca to turn to. I blame Super7 for most of the price increases we’ve seen in the past few years, a pandemic and general price gouging not withstanding.
It’s totally wild and unfortunate. Some great IPs that, if the quality was there, would really launch their name toward the top
I didn't know Tobey Maguire reviews toys :)
Things have been hard since Spiderman
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Lol ill never stop rewatching tobey's spiderman. Yeah super7 can be very inconsistent in quality and release date. But they are not all bad. Few of them exceeded beyond my expectations ... mutugen man, bebop, rocksteady, muckman. If you can look pass their steep price and lousy articulations you might find some gems.
@@wasabi-in-my-eye3134 it sounds like a wild gamble though. I want a brand I can trust. I really want to live these though
Wondering wouldn’t some of the issues be the four horsemen? Cause they design/mould the figures
No idea! Very new to this brand so I have a lot to learn
Im never been a fan of Super7, and i'm really afraid of their Godzilla line. I'm an SH Monsterarts collector so i'm curious how they will stack up against each other.
Very understandable! Did you ever get the Godzilla figures when NECA had them?
I've been interested too, I think I'll be getting the Biolantte because the scale seems to work out.
Well glad I held off on this guy. Robin Hood was my favorite Disney movie growing up until Aladdin and Lion King came out. I had Robin and Prince John on preorder but eventually couldn't justify that price without seeing some reviews first. I have a few of the wrestling related Super7 figures and had no issues with them, so I'm a bit surprised the quality on Robin was so meh
It’s heartbreaking and I’m sure if they do Aladdin and Lion King they will be built with sadness as well. Lol
Thanks for the review. This is a cartoon of my childhood. I didn't know that figures coming out soon. I see the cons, but anyway would love to have these figures.
Seems the brand drops in price all the time on other sites like EntertainmentEarth. Would be worth waiting for a better price. Thanks for the comment!
I bought 3 tnmnt figures and all of them hd problems… the foot soldier had elbow joint so stiff that while trying to pose it it broke 😢 as you said as long as you don’t touch them they look awesome..
Which sucks! I would just buy brands that make statues if I didn’t want to touch them. So disappointing
i tell you neca is the way to go. Overall, much more experienced and less disappointments. Still imo I think neca is expensive but super 7 is outrageous.
Yeah, prior to buying I assumed Super7 would be better than NECA due to the price
NECA are nice to look at but will snap in two if you breathe on it.
@@FFFFPPPP incredibly rare
This is figure of the year.
Wouldn’t even get a Dundee
Yeah, Super7s are very hit and miss. Most of the time they have a very good sculpt and awesome packaging, but it fails in the articulation and accessories. Heck, most of the accessories are either random, don’t fit with the character or just missing some important ones and instead replaced with accessories that appear in like one scene in the film.
You’re right on the money! It’s so unfortunate and results in a lot of wasted plastic/accessories
@@NostalgiaUnboxed
Exactly. Like they really overcompensated the accessories for the lack of articulation. But unfortunately, too many accessories doesn’t make a good figure. I like accessories but not when you sacrifices quality.
As I said, some of the accessories are just off. Like Prince John has all these cool accessories and interchangeable heads but he doesn’t have the thumb sucking head or hand to go along with it. Like that’s one of his most hilariously iconic poses and they instead gave us a head for something that happens once in the movie. They should’ve also give him a bag of taxes as an accessory instead of two of the same closed fisted hands.
@@ulfberht4431 totally agree. To gripping hands would have been great and a Sir Hiss that can actually hold the mirror would have been nice
It really IS quite disappointing seeing the quality is more meh than yeh. Nevertheless I ordered it just because I'm glad they at least release something Disney Robin Hood related. My only fear is that they might discontinue with the line before even the main cast get a chance of a release. Instead they teasered the Crocodile Captain as potential third figure of the line where I wonder who even cares for this character that only has like 30 seconds screen time in the movie. :[
Completely agree. It’s HAS to be Little John and the Sheriff first
Super7's digital renders are better looking than the actual product.
Sadly true! And they know it
Super7 figures are only good for one thing, watching people reviewing them. Its like a guilty pleasure seeing people realize what I already knew, in the end its just a box of disappointment.
A box of disappointment is the best way to describe these
The general consensus, regardless of reviewer (bought-out shills aside, obviously) or which Super7 line it is, is that they're not worth the money. I happen to love some of their Thundercats stuff, but even I will say they're just not worth the price.
Definitely not worth $55. Just got Prince John in and he is better but maybe that’s because my expectations were at zero
Man that sucks. I had this Robin on my radar as it’s also one of my favourite childhood movies. I had two Super7 figures: Lion-O from Thundercats and Donatello from TMNT. And both were actually quite nice. Lion-O’s joints are very sturdy on mine and apart from the eyes looking a bit weird he’s great and I still have him. Donatello I did resell. Not that he was bad, far from it actually, but because after the vintage line, the Revoltechs, and Neca lines I honestly wasn’t interested in starting yet another TMNT collection, especially for that price per figure. They’re also a bit too big for me. Only complaint I had about Donnie was that the joint connecting the hip to the torso was a bit loose. But neither figures had any problems posing or anything which might also just have to do with body proportions or something compared to this one?
That sounds like a good experience and product. And I totally understand not wanting to start another TMNT collection. I think the NECA stuff meets all needs/desires.
@@NostalgiaUnboxed neca is fantastic in my opinion, I also collect their Back to the Future line and couldn’t be happier. Too bad they seemed to have dropped that line so there won’t be part 3 figures.
@@jarosbodytko6462 and none of the female cast. Crazy!
@@NostalgiaUnboxed yeah, I really wanted a Lorraine or a Clara, would’ve been awesome. It’s a real shame. I also don’t get why they are ending that line either, they’re not gonna tell me it’s not one of their most successful lines, especially since BTTF doesn’t have that much merchandise in terms of figures. DeLoreans and prop replica’s sure, but action figures aren’t that common.
Every time I think I should nab some Super7 I look into it and everyone is always disappointed. No idea how they're still in business. It seems like they've been going downhill for years.
Absolutely!
Love super7 supersize line but idk if I want any of their 7inch scale stuff because they’re paint is a hit or miss
Glad you can enjoy the larger items!
I am a big fan of the TMNT super7 ultimates but I understand a lot of your gripes as you probably have seen with a lot of reviewers. I currently own the entire TMNT line and have to say the most recent wave 8 has had a major improvement with their loose joints. I also think it’s certain figures too. Most of mine have fairly decent stuff joints although my Krang’s robot legs are a quite loose. But I am also not into doing lots of poses, just like to display my figures out of box and might do 1-3 poses every now and then. I think once their next wave of figures comes out will be the tall tale if their QC has finally improved or if like wave 8 was just a miracle wave. As some in your comments has said, think they have acquired too many licenses and have let several products quality drop.
Being they just lost Disney stuff, maybe they can focus more on quality
Yeah, here’s hoping. Especially as you mentioned with the pricing. Super7 does generally make great sculpts and they have lots of product I would love to get, (the Disney line was one I am currently investigating). But at $55, you either go all in on one line, or very carefully pick and choose a figure here and there and hope for the best.
why they don't use the kind of plastic neca use is beyond me.
It’s crazy, because it’s like they don’t look at other brands that have already solved these problems
My wife started collecting (like me lol) her first wave was Robin Hood and the tail came broken….
The super 7 TMNT does an amazing job especially compared to Robin Hood
That sucks!! Did she reach out for a replacement?
@@NostalgiaUnboxed not yet just came yesterday. It’s very thin plastic.
Super7 TMNT are built well (they need holes for peg stands though lol)
@@magnusstudios147 they did reply fairly quickly when I used their “contact us” section of their site. I think they would help her. Sucks either way and the replacement, even unbroken, isn’t great
I dont get the price point of these at all. I'm thinking 30 max
Completely agree!
I used to like Super7 a lot but I find it difficult to support them all the way anymore. Prices are just too much and the wait times are not right. Simpsons Ultimates Wave 1 has been closed for 18months in December and no product and when they do ship the product it will suck. Everything they do is crowdfunded which makes everything take so long. I'll be dead by the time some of the stuff even gets started. I like your channel. I just found it :)
Much appreciated! Yeah, that’s absolutely insane. The preorder for Notorious BIG ships in 2024. There’s nothing they could make that would have me onboard for that kind of wait time. Absolutely insane
The best way i can describe this figure is messy
Accurate
Haha , now Im worried about my unopened Monstar super7 ultimates and buzz saw havi g loose joints ... 😂
They will be an issue I’m sure lol
Is anyone 3-D printing the (covered) torso parts to make a complete displayable stork?
I would love to know this as well. Oh, and if anyone is printing a stack of gold coins and a basket. Haha!
Every person who bought this should
en masse demand an extra torso from Super7. I didn’t buy one of these but you all should start a petition.
For real!
My first Super 7 figure was the glow in the dark Toxi. The sculpt looks neat but those joints are just bad, was hoping it wouldnt be the same for the Turtles when they released. Unfortunately, it's the same joints. I'm sticking to some turtle figures, but their articulation is just bad, they feel dated imo.
I think that’s a fair statement. Definitely dated.
great honest review. it is hard I currently cherry pick S7 Turtles, GI Joe and Thundercat’s and the figures look good and I’m 75% happy with the product but I agree there too many accessories and unnecessary hands, hands and more hands, loose joints, super stiff joints which I’m too scared to move etc. Since the covid I must admit the QC has gone out the window just so they can ship their extremely late products, it will be interesting to see if the anything improves post covid.... but will the customers come back??
subbed.
Thank you! I hope they do get it together and fix everything. Seems like they went backwards based on what everyone says. I want to love them, I really do! Haha
How did you get your santa stripe to pose like that?
Are you using a dynamic stand?
His hand is gripping the shelf and his foot is propped against the leg of the stand. It’s very delicate. Haha!
with all the complaints from buyers including myself on super7 stuff..youd think that the team would address these issues..time and time again..loose joints..not standing..broken ball joints..bad tooling..honestly..time to fix the issue..
Yeah, it’s so dumb at this point.
I started collecting Super7's Thundercats Ultimates line this year, and I'm glad I watched a lot of reviews before I opened any of them up. I will most likely keep these in box, because I heard they don't stand well on their own or that their articulation isn't of great quality. And that's really sad, considering the exorbitant prices. Snarf alone will be $55.00! I have come to accept that Super7's products are "polished turds"...they usually look great, but don't handle them or examine too closely!
I’m sorry to hear that. Nothing worse than WANTING to open them, but won’t because it’s a turd (polished or otherwise). Crazy Snarf is still $55 for his size. Like that new throne that’s $45.
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Agreed! I'm just not understanding their pricing strategy. Feels greedy.
@@CringerKitty according to another comment, they have overpriced offices in California compared to NECA being in NJ. Maybe it is greed
