Both these figures are awesome. They are basically the correct size according to the cartoon. Good review but could do with less man-child complaints. Yeah I said that.
But the main use for these figures is to leave them in the box because if you play with your figures like I do these are very very delicate and they are not cheap. Cheapest where I live in Canada is 65 bucks! So either open them and prop him up and don't touch them or just leave them the way they were in the package
You watch a figure review and complain when you get an in depth review lmao. Compare these to a $35 figuarts from target and you will understand how wildly over priced these are.
100% agree with your assessments, the fact that there wasn't an opposite gripping hand drove me nuts and no sucking thumb hand! Also wish there was some sort of wire in Hiss. That's crazy about the color rub off. Don't think i saw that on mine. The price point is way too high for these. neca is typically $35 SRP and are way higher quality in my opinion.
It’s crazy! Just imagine if they were NECA level of quality (or better for the price). It would be a solid brand to stick with. I also hate how shiny these figures are. Robin Hood’s body shouldn’t be shiny considering it’s fur! (Assuming you watched that one too)
The algorithm suggested your channel so you must be doing something right. After watching 2 of your videos there's a few things your doing right! Love the posing sessions and the production quality. Awesome stuff man 🤘🏽
Prince John is a champion shelf diver. Those legs are so terribly loose that I had to just prop him up because I got sick of him falling all of the time. The Mickey from this line is almost as bad too. The sculpt is there with PJ, but I felt he needed more paint to do him justice. That yellow-gold plastic just makes me think of Lion King Happy Meal toys from the 90s. And, as you mentioned, he is missing a lot of accessories. No thumb-sucking pose hands and head really should have been a deal breaker, but I was excited to see Super7 taking on Disney so I bought the first wave as a show of good faith that was really not rewarded. Definitely worth it for those who love the movie and can get this guy on the cheap.
Getting cheap is key because the lack of paint and bad joints make him worth about $20-25. The fact they rely on plastic instead of paint is frustrating. The colors really don’t match the movie at all and have a shine that shouldn’t exist. No effort on their part. A slow death I would imagine.
Sir his is always an accessory to Prince John's evil antics! I know you were going into this with low expectations but I'm happy the figure came out awesome!
Well, you pretty much met my expectations; every other review of this figure I've watched has had basically the same conclusion. On a personal note though; I think what I most appreciate about Super 7 so far is their sparing and meticulous paint-apps, and the fact that they continue to invest in soft-goods. I find it much more durable and long-lasting. Also; thanks for all your responses as well! I appreciate the respect! =)
Thank you for watching and engaging! I personally don’t like they do so much unpainted plastic as the base of the figure. And the colors seem off a bit from the animation because of that.
@@NostalgiaUnboxed I guess I'll have to take your word for it, but like you said; I still WANT to like these as well. But eh, I think they'll still look good next to my Kingdom Hearts figs. I'm probably only going to get one or two favorites anyway. =)
I'm pretty sure there isn't a QC guy at the factory Super 7 uses. They keep having the same problems with their figures and seem incapable or unwilling to make changes to molds to improve things like week ankle or hip joints.
I haven't watched Disney's Robin Hood in years. I love Disney's old animated movies and series'. Not just bc I grew up with them. That is part of it, the animation is simply better in my opinion, compared to what disney's been doing for 15-20 years. Or however long it's been.
Why have they not made a hand and face for him to suck his thumb and hold his ear like in the movie that was a major part of the character and he needs a throne
I have this. When I was taking him out of the packaging, his right leg popped off at the knee. it seems nearly impossible to get it back in. Now it's loose eternally.
You didn’t even compare Prince John with Robin Hood. The biggest issue is that they’re WAY out of scale with each other. He’s gigantic compared to Robin.
If I remember right, the character art sheet from the Disney art book states “Disney's Robin Hood is 4 feet, 10 inches tall (147 cm), and Disney's Little John is 8 feet, 1 inch tall (246 cm)”. This was based on the animators trying to infuse some relative size proximities in regard to the zoo animals they studied when making them into animated characters.
Great review man. Yeah always hear about super7 figs legs are always wobbly and weak. They really need to fix that. I’m an in box collector so yeah like you said in the box he looks amazing. One of my favorite Disney films.
Thank you! I wish they didn’t have a shiny finish. I’ve only recently been annoyed with it now that they are on my shelf. The longer I own Robin Hood the more I hate him 😭 The Funko Pops of this movie are great and I am not a Funko fan. Prince John is super expensive for some reason
