2018 INFINITI QX30 S - Performance Drive Review

Shocked! Absolutely shocked. QX30S with its sexy gloss-black detailing, lower ride and dark 19s not only looks amazing. It drives like a mega GTI! Huge turbo torque peak at 1200-RPM is insane off the line, and the AMG-derived 7-speed DCT is superb.
We pop the car in S mode for a fast drive around the handling loop. And come out grinning! QX30S is really fast and fun around corners.

I just one of these, and it’s a fun little hot hatch crossover thing. I came from a 2011 g37s coupe, and before that a 350z. its a great sport car alternative. The one thing that shocked me was how good the dual clutch performed. I’m a manual guy at heart but I find myself loving the Sport mode.

Just got one of these. I am digging it, but it is pretty quirky. The Mercedes interior aspects could be improved such as the push button start (should just be the Infiniti style), the memory seats should just be one touch, not hold down while the seat moves to that memory position and the doors should unlock when the car is placed into park! I do like the engine (at least I will once I get out of the 1200 mile break-in period) and the few engine mod tweaks I have discovered online to make this car a little hot hatch. But stock, especially in “E” mode, this thing is a dog. Looking forward to being able to wind it up. Definitely a cool little car and I think I Infiniti just collects enough customer surveys, it could be really cool right off the lot.
PS-Infiniti needs to fire their tech department. This is my third Infiniti (buy them for the performance/value ratio) and the tech in this one is exactly the same as my 2010 G37. How hard is it to update the firmware, maps and media to bring this up to par with cars like VW, Honda, Toyota and, uh, Nissan? And is adding Apple CarPlay really such an impossibility?

There are a few AWD fully packaged QX30’s for sale in my area under $22k, 15k miles and I am considering one. How reliable do you think this is? In terms of build quality and engine, could it pass 180k miles as a non hard driver without expensive repairs?
