      Xpert_Destroyer 4 sure just like Mercedes "copied" Nissan by using their platform for the x-class pickup truck. Very common in the automotive industry for one automaker to use a platform or equipment (engine, electronics etc) from another manufacturer.

      @@nickj8359 And that's exactly what's surprising about it. The so-called car guys actually know very little about cars. Anyone who's ever read any car related magazine knows very well that Renault-Nissan group (which Infinite is a part of) collaborates with Mercedes, and has been for some time. Mercedes cars use some Renault engines in fact, and vice versa. Even the Smart car (a daughter of Mercedes) is pretty much a Renault under the skin. The same is true for most Nissan cars in most segments which share many parts under the surface with Renaults, and use Renault engines. Infinite does the same as a sub-brand of Nissan. So the whole Renault-Nissan and Mercedes circle is nothing new for anyone who has any clue about cars, and as I've said already, most people posing as "car guys" on youtube have absolutely none.

My Qx30 didn’t originally come with keyless entry, it worked exactly as you showed with the Mercedes (put the keyfob in the ignition hole and turn) but I ordered a Mercedes keyless start part online (I forget the part number if anyone’s interested I can dig up my emails) and it was a very simple process of placing that Mercedes part in my QX30 ignition slot (as simple as placing a tab over a hole) and just like that, my Infiniti Qx30 with the newly installed Mercedes keyless pushbutton start device was now a keyless start vehicle.

More bells and whistles, less money, good quality leather and ride with great pickup in a 2.0t. I was very impressed! It’s no comparison to the 650i ride but not a bad buy. The only thing I was not happy about was still having to purchase premium gas for this little car. For some reason I assumed it would take regular gas. Boy was I surprised at the pump on my first fill up. No! The salesperson did not mention this and I didn’t ask. It would have been a factor considered when purchasing.

    The Merc A250 has 4matic, does the QX30?

  • @martinjones6085

    We have a 2018 Qx30 premium purchased brand new when it came out. As of today it only has 20K miles on it. The thing is a disappointment bc the leather seat in the front passenger side has separated at the seams where the stitches are & it is all bunched up . Mind you that I rarely have passengers in the car and since the pandemic began I have not had to drive it much. When I took it to the service department at Infiniti, they said it would cost $8700 for that one seat to have leather repaired. In addition, they were trying to sell me new tires for $6,400 . I am not even including all the other bs like wiper replacement, in micro filter replacement, fuel service induction, etc...all the things they recommended. We owned a total of 5 Qx 56/80's ,2 G37 sport coupes & a Jx35. Everyone of them were bought (& leased 2 ) brand new & they were really enjoyable back when we first started purchasing them. What made us get rid of one last month for a new lexus was the way the service departments were always trying to nickel & dime us . We will be getting rid of this qx30 soon. The quality of infiniti has gone down in recent years. Just throwing this info out there . If you still want an Infiniti then make sure you know what you are getting into. It is hard to get unbiased honest reviews bc many of the popular "professional reviewer" mags do get rewarded by these companies.

    I ended up buying the INFINITI here in Australia and saved nearly $20,000 compared to the Mercedes. The sad thing is that INFINITI has now decided to move out of Australia cause their sales were bad which is disappointing. I can't understand why since everyone here buys compact SUV or crossovers. The only reason I can think of RE lack of sales in Australia is the total lack of marketing in this country. Not even one TV commercial, billboard or newspaper ad.

    Good video comparison. I had a 2017 QX30 Premium AWD (like the Essential you showed). Got rid of it in less than 2 years. Harsh ride, unreliable, low gas mileage, poor dealership experiences. The Infiniti infotainment system GUI is god-awful too. By the way, the Keyless Go switch / button is available on Amazon. I got one and it’s literally plug and play.. 2 second installation. This QX30 has been canceled in Europe and I suspect it will be soon canceled here due to poor sales.

      Jeff K how did you get rid of it in Theo years? Was it a lease? Please help

    • @jkulas
      @jkulas 5 лет назад

      chocolatewheelchair There was no magic to it. It wasn’t a lease; I was financing it through Infiniti Financial Services. As you’d expect, I had negative equity and I ended up rolling some of the negative equity into the new car deal and I put more money down on the new one to offset the rest of the negative equity. I knew it wasn’t the best financial decision but I don’t regret ditching this QX30. The ownership experience didn’t live up to the Mercedes expectation. And Infiniti dealers treat the QX30 like a red-headed stepchild. I ended up replacing it with Kia Stinger GT2 AWD. (KIA!? NO WAY!) Yes. There’s a reason why the automotive press favors this car. Better luxury and comfort, better infotainment, superior driving experience, has a fastback design like an SUV, better warranty, more Kia dealers for service. I hope people think carefully before they consider either of these two cars.
