Jazz Guitar Cover Ragtime Fingerstyle Stride Fingerpicking Acoustic Picking Piano Fats Waller Andy Razaf Loar LH-600
When I first started listening to this, I was still in college and I particular remember living in an apartment walking to the train to go to a part-time summer job. In the afternoons, coming back, I would sit down at my favorite pizza shop, get a slice, plug in the headphones and listen to Isto. This song brings me back to those moments. Thank you.
Man, oh man, if I was a young girl I'd be swooning, right now! I was impressed with your picking, and then you began to SING! I couldn't help but believe that you loved me... oh, well...
There's music, and then there's MUSIC. This music needs to come back and folks like you help that process (and some other crap needs to crawl in a hole). This was an era when music said something kind. Kindness used to be the standard, not the odd one out. Chris, great job brother man!
Absolutely wonderful. The guitar playing, the vocals, the Fats impersonation. Everything.
Isto, I commented earlier about how wonderful this rendition is. I just played it for my wife and she asked me to tell you she is swooning! Again, just wonderful and you play much of the music I want to play on my Loar archtop too. Thank you so much
Absolutely wonderful! They just don't write good old songs like they used to do anymore!!!
And I love when you go away!!!😂😂👏👏
This is absolutely stellar stuff, Thank you!
I always look forward to your videos. There's such a relaxing and peaceful tone to them. Thank you
Made me smile. Thank you!!
I adore you!! You are a cute person,and your voice is sweet...sweet!!!💥⚘🇺🇾 Uruguay...south america.🍃❤
I can't say what I love most, your playing or your singing, both equally brilliant and you make it look so easy.
Itso rules-thanks!!
Great singing as always - nice guitar groove too.
I think Fats would have loved this performance if he could have seen it. Some of the quirky little expressions like the one at 1:20 really remind me of his personality and it breathes a whole extra layer of joy into your performance. Love it :)
jolie voix, joli jeux finger picking.
merci
I love you when you run away!!😂😂❤🔥
Nice! But you look so sad man... OK, I got a smile peekin' out occassionally. This song is perfect for scat and whistling - that's how I do it. Really cool falsetto at the end! I'm hooked.
I keep coming back to your Fats Waller covers - thanks for your superb talent!
Awesome
Would love to hear you play some blues.
Like Mississippi John Hurt or Charley Patton

a wonderful interpretation....great vocal range too
Great playing and I love the eccentric performance!
Enchanting.
I love and perform this song, too ... but not nearly as well as you. Outstanding job! In fact, our tastes in music are very similar.
Well done
Delightful - beautiful interpretation! Thank you for such joy!
You know you were the first thing I ever saw on RUclips. In a sea of chaos you are a delightful constant.
Great job on an iconic Fats Waller tune, thank you.

Absolutely delightful playing and a wonderful arrangement. Lovely spirit. Thank you for sharing bud!
I watch your videos and I realize how much I have to learn.....it's good and bad!!! =-\ Awesome job!
perfect!
Man from my personal experience Loar guitars are ideal for fingerpicking sort of ragtime style contrary to the popular belief! Extraordinary cover as usual!!!
hey isto,
i've been watching all your videos for a while now. really great stuff. this one was particularly nice -- love when you get a bit silly with the voice.
cheers
nice job man ;)

Hey buddy! Sweet!
Nice little bit of falsetto there at the end.
Absolutely Amazing! Is there a CD of your music? I would love to buy it and give it to friends as a gift.
Beautiful vocals! A wonderful surprise. (totally not jealous at all... >.>)
I'd love to hear you play this on a steel string, or maybe get a recording where the guitar was a little cleaner/clearer, 'cause your arrangement is awesome.
i would love to learn how to strum like this. is there someone online that can help please.
So glad I found this damn channel. I've been wanting to learn this style of guitar for a long time, and the way you play + camera angle couldn't be better.
Subbed man, you deserve more exposure.
can you play Rocky Raccon by The Beatles, It really fits in with your style
You should have a listen to "Charlie Parr - Rocky Raccoon Feat Nicholas Mrozinski"! :)
He does a cool take on "For the Benefit of Mr.Kite" on this(his youtube) channel.
All you need is a megaphone and you could have the perfect 30s sound.
You've got an uncanny voice for jazz. Like a modern Cole Porter
Do you mostly play these standards in C? They're beautiful, I'm just curious.
morbidly unappreciated fellow
my cats particularly liked this one.
Hey man do you give zoom lessons
I’ve been wanting to find a good teacher who can teach swing guitar and these old timey things
Yes, I do! You can email me about lessons at lumberjackisto@yahoo.com
Reminded me of Leon Redbone how about Champagne Charlie :) or Diddy wah diddy.
can you play amy by green day?
You didn't say " for you, and you and you " while looking at the camera like fats waller
You're a fuckin beast man!
Could you please share tabs to some of your pieces? Your songs look very fun to try to play
Dude picks them up by ear and plays them. There are no TABs or notation. He did some excellent transcribing for some songs he taught in classes I've taken with him. I'm quite sure you could hire him to transcribe to TAB anything you wanted. You can find scores for many songs by adding 'pdf 'at the end of the title of the song you search. But if you can't find it, Isto can do it.
lmao dude come on
Thanks for your kind words, Kenny! You're one of my favorite people. Hope you're doing well! Other folks, if you're interested in lessons or transcriptions of what play in some of these videos, please email me at lumberjackisto@yahoo.com. Also, I've been posting video lessons on my patreon account (patreon.com/istomusic), and also teach group lessons at Brooklyn's Jalopy Theatre (jalopytheatre.org).
What’s the model of that Loar?
Nevermind... i read the description...moron i am
Dude, this is wonderful. You really understood the assignment with this song.
All you need is a megaphone and you could have the perfect 30s sound.
