100% agreed, if there was no shotgun in Halo CE i would've given up at 343 guilty spark.

Another tip: Turn on piñata and you can punch the infection forms for free grenades. The skull is not a 0 multiplier so your time still counts.
WARNING! At the last part (16:40) after silver jumps through the door, when doing the same I didn't go arount to avoid the spawns in the final room. I got killed over and over, then after a few good atempts, I saved and quit to reset the time to when this started. I tried a few more times and found using the magnum to shoot at the shooting flood behind me helped. Try to keem moving and don't give up! But PLEASE listen to silver and GO AROUND THE SPAWNS! Don't try to save time like me.

Ofc for me the guys spawn as soon as I take a step forward past the door... going round does nothing if I can't even make it round in the first place

Just so y’all know, he said that the par time is 20 mins but it is actually 25 so hopefully that lifts your guys spirits a little.
Going left after grenade jumping through the final door is what helped me to finally complete the end sequence after many failures. Got an 18 minute run thanks to this guide.
I just did this achievement. Both of The Library in 30 minutes for CEA and without dying. Today, I think I need to cry in my shower. Shits too much for me. But I got it.

My mate played it for the first time this year and didn't mind it even on Legendary. I told him it wasn't that bad. He agreed.

Try turning Sputnik on to make jumps easier

I kept crouch jumping as soon as I jumped and it slowed me down. Just run and jump like normal and you will get a big jump and crouch towards the end of the jump
Followed along watching this on a second monitor (like a cheater ik) and got a 17:04 (I was on easy (like a pansy ik))
Those parts stopping for a min and a half at the door 😂loved the dry humor. Definitely gonna follow along for Two Betrayals next

Anyone having trouble with the beginning jumps check out his Halo CE LASO video on the level The Library.
He mentions you need to jump a bit earlier and to crouch just as you land on the ledge so that it pushes you forward.
after the initial frag jump, that second jump takes me a frag as well. I CANT do it without it. Same on the MAW when you need to jump up to that upper level where the health pack is; I NEED a frag. I swear he can jump 2.5% higher than I can in his videos.

I'd honestly prefer this mission over Two Betrayals on Legendary... especially when trying to get par time on either one.

HonorGuard - KrayFish Thanks, man! I've thought about it more and more now that I'm doing these guides. Making these videos is kind of forcing me to refine my runs. I set up a Twitch account for the Halo 5 beta, but haven't really used it since. Maybe I'll take a crack at CE on there once I get a few more guides up :)

Right at the end I got an unreasonably terrible checkpoint where I just died like 1 second after it every single time. There was enough variance that it was POSSIBLE to survive but honestly I was at it for like 20 to 25 minutes, dying in a second each time (then the camera panning over my dead body for like 3 seconds) and I honestly only survived to get behind cover like 4 or 5 times total and of those, only on my successful attempt did I manage to get any shield back...
All of this happened because even tho I was trying to go to the left at the very end, the enemies always spawned in almost instantly, not allowing me to even make it round to the left. In the end I actually ended up having to actually kill all of them with a combination of my last plasma grenade and shotgunning the guys as they came through a choke point...
Idk just felt like I needed to share this.
If I can now manage to knock my truth and rec time down to sub 26 minutes or so then I should get goat roped so once AGAIN, thank you so much for your guides silver!
Surprisingly this is one of the levels I find easier for this challenge

especially if you use Sputnik to not have to worry ab grenade jumps, carriers like to turn the Library into a bounce house
Of course, didn't have a grenade for the end. And naturally the result was dying 4 times in a row and losing what otherwise would've been a decent time. Cool and good.
This guide makes this mission such a breeze. Two Betrayals is so much worse

Fucking finally understood how to do that jump. You dont press crouch and jump at the same time. You first jump and the crouch just slightly before you hit the ledge

I love your guides and I've been working through them all but please please don't wait till halfway through a video to tell us what skulls you have on. I don't like going halfway through a level using the skulls you have on for almost all CE guides only to find out you have some turned off and I run into a part of the level I can't get past because of the skull I left turned on that you had off. Really annoying. Other than that these are super helpful.

Ok, hold on, isn't there the "Speedreader" Achievement? Where if you beat the library on legendary *in under 30 minutes*, you get it? There why is the partime 20 minutes?
Speed Reader - complete the level on legendary in under 30 mins (Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary). TLDR - complete the level on any difficulty in under 25 mins (Halo: Master Chief Collection). Also par times are based on what speedrunners are expected to achieve rather than casual players, and HCEA was released 3 years before MCC. Or maybe I'm failing to read the room proper and this comment was rhetoric
I managed to get all the way to the very final door mere moments before the end of the level while under par time, but I didn't have a frag to do the last grenade jump with which ruined it and I spent like 5 minutes trying to do that last part and it screwed the par time. Annoying ass level...
Final grenade jump is wholly unnecessary unless you're trying to break records. If you just want to beat par time, i find it entirely too risky of a maneuver to pull off while being attacked by so many enemies. I blew a really good run right at the very end trying to do that... Just let the doors open and hopefully you have alot of grenades.

After beating this under par time My game crashed and since this was my last one to beat...idk if it counted. Achievement didn't pop up. I hope it will soon cause I don't wanna do this again.
What (if any) skulls do you have on?
No boom skull, probably Pinata so that you can punch for grenades because why not?
The last part is impossible for me the guys spawn on me at the end before I can even go around

MCC graphics has less accurate terrain modeling
@@capt_jack9949 more specifically, the remaster terrain still follows the collision models of the original, so what appears to be there might be nothing, and what appears as nothing might be blocked by something if you switch to classic
For me, much easier to see everything
