- Introducing eleven new Eurorack compatible modules - all of them authentic reproductions of original “System 100M” circuitry from 1975. With ultra-fat oscillators and creamy filters the sound became famous in the early 80s used by artists like Depeche Mode, Human League, Tears For Fears but also Vangelis, Tangerine Dream and even Aphex Twin.

If you’re into super-fat bass sounds, in-your-face leads or flowing soundscapes, definitely check them out! All modules are incredibly feature rich, have tremendous patching capabilities and a lot of them come with dual function, like:
- 112 dual oscillator with 3 waveforms, PWM and two sync modes
- 121 dual filter with 3-channel mixer per filter
- 130 dual VCA, again with dual 3-channel mixers
- 140 dual envelope has 3 outputs per ADSR plus a built in LFO that can be triggered and phase synced
- 173 gates module comes even with four gates that can switch audio and 6 quad buffered multiples
- 297 has a dual portamento controller plus two independent CV mixers
- 150 brings a ring modulator, 2 noise generators, syncable LFO and a sample and hold generator
- 172 module delivers a 6-step phase-shifter, an analog delay, an LFO and a gate delay

These look great especially for the price but the jack placement is going to be so annoying to use in an actual Eurorack system.

An affordable MIDI to CV module, West Coast modules: complex oscillators, waveshapers, low pass gates, interesting random and chaos sources, slope generators.
Maybe everything in one box like Buchla Easel. The genuine spring reverb.
So you're saying they should clone the Buchla Easel. Which I'd wager is already on their to-do list, actually. Although it might be an iffy proposition If it can't talk to their other synths natively.

Drum modules, tape delay, granular reverb would be great. These are beautiful modules by the way. Please keep any future modules looking clean like this. A lot of Eurorack modules out there are just confusing looking. I hope this Eurorack venture for Behringer is not a one off. It sure will be fun to buy some new modules every month or so without shelling out hundreds of dollars for something that essentially does a portion of what a standalone synthesizer can do for almost the same price sometimes.
I doubt they can do any original design work at these prices. If those modules you want aren't clones of old technology I don't think it's gonna happen. All of the properly innovative Eurorack modules are going to stay at their price because they are actually unique. The overpriced clones will probably fall off. If you want the innovation of software technology in a hardware package you're going to have to pay. Obviously not counting the inevitable Mutable Instruments Behringer clones.

Lol, shelling out hundreds for something that essentially does a portion of what a standalone synth can do? I guess you need to stick with standalone synths then because if you don't understand how modular concept is far superior than standalone synth, ah well...
I agree about the price tho, but that's the nature of small batches & boutique builders.

I try to praise a company for making affordable Eurorack modules and you insult me for it. Here’s an example of what I meant; I can buy a full stand-alone Korg Monologue synth with a built in sequencer for $200-300 or I can buy some Eurorack sequencers for the same price. This doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate the flexibility and creativity of Eurorack. It means I just dislike the general prices of Eurorack gear. I’ve been assembling my Eurorack synths for years and spent enough to feed a small country. It will just be nice to see some affordability in Eurorack for a change. Hopefully, other companies will follow suit, but I doubt it.
@@TangoWithTheCobra I think Mason's point is that the price is not just the cost of making, shipping and selling the thing, it has to cover the R&D and design time, and that's presuming that the quality of construction, testing and quality control are equal. Hence it's easier to clone existing circuits than design something new and unique, which is Behringer's advantage. Eurorack certainly is "expensive" but the guys making these things are not ripping you off, they're not getting ridiculously rich in this business, they might be making a reasonable living but the man-hours are enormous. My guess is a lot of these folk would be raking in more money getting jobs designing boring stuff for some big company making widgets and white goods. Not dissing Behringer...they're making stuff I always wanted at price I can afford so that's great too.
Please make a basic "how to get started with modular" tutorial series for beginners who want to get into modular so people can understand better what they want to buy.

This is great timing! I've been away from music for fifteen years and have dedicated to get my feet wet again - with modular synths! So seeing Behringer offering such modules is absolutely wonderful. :)

Behringer really admire your efforts making eurorack more accessible, but please do not put the smaller eurorack manufacturers out of business by emulating their designs. Sticking to the fundamental modules like you have done here is wonderful. Great work.

Would love to see eurorack: sample players, oscilloscope, resonator, some modeling type of synth voice like AAS/PLONK, synthetic drums, gate/trigger sequencers with polymeter&polyrhythm, super advanced clock module like PNW, comb delay/filter with extreme short delay times cv controllable.

These look super cool, I'll definitely be picking some up when they hit the market. At some point it would be great to see you guys make a case that accepts and powers standard eurorack modules but also has a built-in keyboard with a mod/pitch wheel - sort of like a build your own Moog Grandmother-type product. I can only think of one of these on the market and it's very expensive, even used. Cheers Behringer, once again proving you listen to your customers!
This! The waldorf 37 is too expensive for me but would really be the only way I would consider starting a eurorack setup
Interesting that you guys pulled this off, impressed! Especially at that price point. So now what I'm really waiting for is for you to do a clone of the EMS VCS3 (or Synthi AKS.) Do that, and it's an instant buy from me! (the EMS synths were second on my dream synth wishlist, the first on my list being the ARP 2600 which I recently pre-ordered from Korg.)

Well, Uli Behringer did mention a long while back that they would be making one, but since then, they've put out an enormous amount of other synths... so hopefully, they haven't abandoned the EMS clone.

Seriously getting so excited watching this. And that full voice module (110 I think) is just sick, but I'm gonna have a really hard time not getting them, having doubles on most the modules means i can set up an easy stereo voice, didnt really think about that until I saw output mixer with the R output.

@@ryanmoran8366 I doubt it. Modular is not for the masses, nor will it ever be. Many modular users are purist. They are more than willing to pay the price for the modules they want.
@@SyntheticFuture Eurorack isn't for the masses because of the PRICE. Up until now, even a beginner rack would cost half a fortune which deters many from diving in. Behringer has now changed that. You don't think they're gonna stop with the System 100 do you? They will continue to pound out their own versions of popular modules like "Maths, etc.." plus their own unique modules and they will cost no more than $100. I'm not saying that this is going to happen over night. Give it 5 years tops and you'll see my friend. It's a game changer for the entire industry and many big name Euroack manufactures will suffer from it if they don't deflate their prices.
@@ryanmoran8366 Erica Synths already has pretty affordable modular systems (500 to 1000 usd). VCV rack is for a large part free. Cherry Audio has a very nice virtual modular system. Thing with modular is though that it really isn't made for that many people. It is hard to use, to put it midly. So even though it looks very desirable with all the little lights and knobs and cables really not that many people get something out of it. It's a small market. The prices are high because the production is on a small scale because very few people use this stuff. I think behringer had the right idea woth the semi modular stuff where everyone can fairly easily use it. With this system my guess is that we will see a huge spike in sales followed by a huge supply on the second hard market because of buyers regret. But hey maybe I'm wrong.

FINALLY! Been waiting to get my hands on these ever since Uli acknowledged their beginnings!
Great work. I think this is important for Behringer in two ways: firstly as a very affordable way to get into the fully modular synth environment and music making, and secondly as a means of declaring very clearly that they are to be taken seriously in the music tech world (and in the synth world in particular).
If someone has been living under a rock for the past years and has failed to realise (or acknowledge) that with their faithful and very budget-friendly reissues (or equipment in general including new designs), it is now quite impossible to deny as they can show they have the credentials for it. I'm really glad, also due to the fact that they provide the means of unique inspiration with hardware that me (and millions of others) would not be able to afford otherwise.

Exactly. These old synth companies have been sitting on designs they no longer even own. Now that Behringer has discovered this(and since they already own a company that manufactures Curtis chips),
we may see all manner of retro analog! We could see Prophet 5/10/VS, OB8/Xa, etc. It's just amazing.
BUT, what may be REALLY interesting, is that they now possess all these designs and the DeepMind began as a Juno 106(have you seen the side-by-sides w/ Prophet 6 and OB6??? I have one. The DeepMind is AMAZING). They have the MS-20 designer, Nishijima, heading their synth development in Japan. They could design an analog synth that would make the Matrixbrute, or Moog ONE look like a Timbre Wolf.

These are clones, not reissues. A reissue is when original company releases the synth again after some time...

Some modules idea:
- Midi/usb to cv
- granular delay/reverb
- pitch quantiser with selectable scales
All of those already exist and they can't copy existing patents, these are exact copied of patents that expired some time ago...However that being said...www.expert-sleepers.co.uk/fh2.html would be the best for midi to cv. The Mimeophon from Make Noise is your granular delay/reverb/ Your pitch quantiser would be an ACL Sinfonion as your best bet. Hope that helps...
Behringer is bringing music to the masses. What once was reserved for the wealthy is now available to all, and that's really a good thing. It's truly amazing to see what people create with them.

Amazing Behringer! I'd love to see a pitch quantizer, especially one that could process 2 or more individual pitch CV signals into the same scale.
Love it! definitely getting this as a starter system.. plus an Empress Zoia Euroburo .. I imagine this setup will be unprecedented power for the dollar/bang for the buck.

The killer app would be a quad MIDI-2-CV, such that more modules could be used to make a polyphonic synth in conjunction with most 25-37-key controllers. IIRC, that was not available in the original Roland line.

Wow Behringer, you guys are blowing my mind! As to what modules I'd like to see... a combination arp / quantizer maybe? Also a midi to CV module for playing my oscillators polyphonically with a midi controller. Maybe an Ornament and Crime type multi function module? Also a clock generator with polyrhythmic capability and lots of outs.

Great to see this making the light of day. I also liked Uli's comment earlier today regarding the haters.
I would buy:
1. If you made a pre-configured System 100 clone with the modules you show here, in a basic rack, for ~90% of the cost of buying all these separately, I'd buy at least one, if not two of them. If it's not available in that format, I'll probably only buy 3 or 4 of these modules (likely 2 of the VCOs, one of the sequencer and one of the filters).
2. A decent Buchla Music Easel clone, but with the ability to fit more than one expander at a time (clone those too!) and make the jacks and voltage ranges all Eurorack compatible.
3. A contemporary real analogue tape echo/delay unit (ideally in 19" rack format), based on SRE-555 and/or RE-201. I know tape components can be hard to source, but T-Rex's Replicator isn't bad and isn't prohibitively expensive (I have one, I like it). If you were making them in the volumes you guys do, I reckon you could get the cost south of £600.
General comment; when you make these great clones of classic synths in Eurorack, the only thing that puts me off is that you seem to only allow polyphonic use via midi. Please consider putting 4 x V/oct inputs of ones with 4>= voices per input and one per oscillator for those with

This is great! What I'd love to see is a variety of shapes and sizes of eurorack cases to fit these and my other Behringer synths in. The Eurorack Go is pretty big.

I hope so... judging from the last teasing video with the color LEDs in a row I thought a big one is coming, hehe.
I think we are going to need an interface module that takes MIDI/USB MIDI in, and creates pitch control voltage, trigger and gate signals out, and maybe also pitch bend and modulation and aftertouch signals (and other controller data?) as voltages out.
There could be a monophonic version and a polyphonic version with some kind of round-robin voice assignment and multiple pitch CV, trigger and gate outs, one for each voice.

* PS-3300 style resonator (3 bandpass filters controlled by 3 LFOs)
* 808 + 909 drums with trigger and accent in
Amazing stuff Behringer. These modules have been hinted at for a while but its great that you guys are finally releasing them.
Suggestions.
A 2 tier and 3 tier 104hp case would be nice, with power supply.
Progammable clock source with time divisions.
A filtersweep delay would be very cool
Reverb with capability to use external tanks
Quantiser
Juno style chorus
and err err lots more I'm sure.

It would be amazing to have more delay and effects like the Strymon Magneto Tape Echo & Looper but using the TC Alter Ego and Hall of Fame effects!

Seems basic but a good oscilloscope module would be great for starters (like myself) and more advanced users. The ones on the market today are overpriced.
If you are really looking for an oscilloscope I'd recommend looking into second hand analogue scopes. There are also a few pc scopes that should work fine for sound

An oscilloscope that is affordable would be great. I think about picking up a stand-alone but would prefer one in the rack.
If you want it exclusively for music, you may have a look at alibaba. They sell them for as low as 20$ including display and controls (self assembly). If you are willing to spend 50$ you get them ready assembled with housing etc. However, they only sample frequencies up to 200kHz, which is more than fine for synths, but quite low for common electronics purposes.
I would love Behringer to remake the orginal System 100 (1975) filter as a module. The 100m filter is nice, but nothing screams quite like that original, sinfully squelchy filter!
A quantizer will be very important for the 182 Analog Sequencer and even the Moog sequencer reissue. Quantizers are expensive but are mandatory to create musical sequences in a given scale, or to connect random generator to produce melodic outputs etc... It will be a must have module in the Behringer module series !

Woah! Go Behringer. My first synth was the System 100M keyboard section but sadly I no longer have it. If Behringer keeps this up I will be able to recreate most of the 80's home studio I had as a teenager.
