Kneeling before the 2021 games. Probably the single most idiotic thing to feature at a _European_ tournament: a political manifestation imported wholesale from the US, a country infamously inconsequential to global football. Even England under Southgate eventually gave up on this insanity, long after everybody else moved on. He probably regrets signing up on it in the first place, but we know if there's one nation who will never resist to flash just how much cooler and more enlightened it is than the little big brother across the ocean, it's the English. Man, am I glad the 2024 game is largely free from this crap, all the more shocking considering it's hosted by Germany. As it should be. Just kick the damn ball. Nobody gives a shit about your politics as long as it doesn't prevent your team from scoring and if that happens, out with you.
I'm Swedish and admit we rigged the Denmark game. It's a no-brainer to intentionally lose 2-1 to your arch-rivals and risk elimination at a major tournament until the 89th minute so you don't risk facing a bleak Italian side in a potential final. Makes perfect sense.
As an Englishman it a real sense of shame with behaviour of fans and the media. The British tabloids have always been a joke even to most people here especially The Sun. When it comes to the fans it’s an unfortunate truth that comes from British football. It’s practically part of the game to fight rival fans for some people and there are tonnes of movies where the behaviour is almost glorified. It’s not just English fans either as I lived in wales for many years and I remember the local team getting knocked out of the welsh cup and suddenly the local riot police were trying to stop battles in the street between fans and fire bombs. I like football especially the internationals but I have always loved Rugby where I have been to countless away games where I have been invited to drink with rival fans and had a great time chatting and singing whereas even in a low league football game I attended there were fans fighting and abusing players. It’s that mentality along with diving and the screaming at the ref that puts a bad taste in my mouth. I will admit most of the behaviour you have pointed out is a minority of English people unfortunately they’re the loudest thanks to the way it echoes around their empty skull. Great video mate And PS footballs coming home is an absolute banger and I will not stand for the slander 😂
I am very glad you enjoyed the video. I remember as a kid when I thought that Green street movie was so cool and then realizing the cringe of it all. Ps: It's coming home is insufferable 😂
What other controversies have I missed?

Yugoslavia wasn't behind the iron curtain, good video anyways
Thanks. Yeah I probably should have worded it differently. But they were behind it for 2 years until Tito and Stalin had their public breakup
Very controversial
Indeed
