So not really the entire history of the euros since we basically started in 1996.. would loved a similar description the newer tournaments received, to each tournament since the beginning. Fun video nonetheless just a bit of a misleading title
"Spain had never won an international trophy before" what??? 1964 EURO champions man, the hell? You call them underachievers but not the England squad who till the 90s had always had better players and has only a WC to their name?
The funny thing, is that spain won the Euro before other big nations like german, netherland, italy, france etc... in 1964. They almost won it a second time in last century, in 1984 against platini's France. But they lost the final. And they win the olimpics in the 90's. They really had great players and legends in the past, like Zamora, Luis Suarez Miramontes (only spanish ballon D'or and the best player of the great inter milan who wins their first 2 champions league in a row. With him as the best player and he won the 1964 Euro for spain) Butragueño, Hierro, Iribar, Paco Gento, Raúl, Valeron (what a magician, was called the spanish Zidane), Diego Tristan, Guti etc... But they had 0 luck in world cups. They were robbed 2 times too. In 1934 italy robbed them in the world cup. And in 2002 in the korea world cup... that one was horrific. One of the most corrupt matches ever that take away the semifinals for the spaniards. And now, they won the other new uefa tournament (Nations League). There are only 3 nation leagues finals in history, and they were in 2 of them, and won 1. But they were robbed against france in the other final with that offside goal of mbappe. 1 world cup, 3 Euros (the country with most, draw with germany) olimpic winners, 1 Nation leagues. And some finals lost, like in 1984 or the nations league against france... So they are FAR better than England, but some english people still acting they are better than countries like spain and others, for some weird reason.
@@rdg9768 absolutely, thanks for that. Spain is the best. I say that and I'm not even a fan of Spain, in fact I hated their dominance from 2008-2012. But that side won 3 successive major tournaments. They revolutionized football. Their midfield was the greatest midfield in the history of international football....It was basically Barca's midfield + Xabi Alonso and Fabregas (who was ironically at Barca for a period of time but not 2008 Euros). They would play that Brazil team off the pitch as football wasn't very advanced during the 50s, 60s or 70s. For this reason I would actually rate Brazil's 90s and early 2000s team as better than the Pele ones. They made 3 straight World Cup finals, won some Copa Americas...And did it in a much harder era.
