  • I have to shave my head; mother nature is against me and I have tried a lot of trimmers. But I have always chickened out from wet shaving my head. Always thought I would shred my head to pieces. Since trialling the new One Blade I thought it was a good opportunity to see if it was better than what I already use of if it could cope with a head shave and how close it would be.

    Cool! The trimmers used to shave canine/feline will give a quick & close shave & last without any razor changes for several years. I bought the one touch & like its capability to shave delicate skin since I recently had inguinal hernia surgery & wanted to shave myself instead of leaving it up to the hired help.....lol
    Next I'm going to have to give it a turn @ the old noggin...
    Thanks for the video!

      Having used it now, i find that no electric based razor cuts as close. went to the barbers and asked for a head shave, he had a special unit he siad cuts really close, but after having had it done, it was longer than when i had cut it in the past with the oneblade.

      Richard Thompson You have never tried shaving your head with a razor? How close would you say the One Blade shaves compared to a razor? I might consider one for shaving my head while travelling.

    • @rtbiscuit
      @rtbiscuit  8 лет назад +3

      Never wet shaved my head always used a set of clippers. the oneblade has given me the closest head shave I've ever had. much closer than my clippers. having used it on my face and can compare against a safety razor the one blade is pretty close. am yet to try it with shaving soap as the razor can be used wet as well as dry.

      From memory it took me about 15 minutes to shave my head, As for length of usage and recharges I think it has at least 2 hours of charge in it. I don't seem to have to charge it too often.

    I have one of these shavers that I use for my face and its great. I was just contemplating shaving my head with it, I was literally in the bathroom with it in my hand ready to go, but then I talked myself out of it because just know that I will struggle to do it properly and will be all night at it getting pissed off. I think I'm going to buy one of those Pitbull Skull Shavers instead and keep the Phillips One Blade for my face.

    • @rtbiscuit
      @rtbiscuit  5 лет назад

      I don't use it for my head as much now as it blunts the blade quicker, I looked at the pitbulls but have currently been using the Omnishave for my head.

    How long did it took you for this cut, without the fast forward ? (I noticed a 15 minutes comment at some point).
    And do you have any advice, of things I should avoid or do before and/or after ?
    I'm thinking of trying this, this morning lol.

    • @rtbiscuit
      @rtbiscuit  6 лет назад +2

      Took about 15 minutes, best trick is before the first cut, use a normal trimmer to get rid of most of the hair and then use the oneblade to get it real close. then just shave frequently to keep it short. I get lazy and forget to do it then have more work getting back to short again.

    • @rtbiscuit
      @rtbiscuit  6 лет назад +2

      Sorry for the slow reply, I have tried a wet razor on my head now, this was not quiet as close but pretty good in comparison the advantage was I didn't cut myself with this like I did the wet razor

    • @ChristofChristofi
      @ChristofChristofi 6 лет назад

      Richard Thompson So you mean the wet razor cut a little bit closer than the one blade?or did i understand you wrong? Ps sorry for my bad english..,

    • @rtbiscuit
      @rtbiscuit  6 лет назад +2

      yes you understood right with the one blade if you use a normal set of clippers to do the first cut, then finish with the one blade this will give a cut almost as close as a wet shave, almost indistinguishable. the one big advantage was a lot less nicks, and blood.

    • @rtbiscuit
      @rtbiscuit  4 года назад +2

      Honestly; no not for shaving your head. I still have mine and use it on my face. And it's a great face shaver, It will shave a head but it blunts far quicker. And it's not cheap for heads. Currently I'm wet shaving it's been a learning curve and getting better. I've not tried electric shavers like the skull shaver but even they have expensive replaceable heads. Being bald may save in hair cuts but costs money else where.

    • @rtbiscuit
      @rtbiscuit  7 лет назад +2

      I do still use it, but it works best if its done regularly, so if i miss a couple of weeks i go back to my old trimmer and then come back to the oneblade as nothing gets closer.

    • @rjcarter2904

    • @rtbiscuit

      not daily, if you're thinning like me, once a week is fine, if you're more blessed in the hair department and it grows fast, then every 3 days possibly.

      Very close head shave. If you are buying one spend a bit more and get one with a Li-ion battery as they hold their charge much better and have no memory issues. They are on special offer at Boots, if you are in the UK. Very pleased with the one I bought a week ago.

    Hey Richard- great video! I was looking at getting the OneBlade because I don't like shaving my head everyday (too lazy), and once I get about 4 days of growth , it clogs the razor. Do you ever use the OneBlade with shaving cream when you shave your head? Do you get much irritation when you are dry shaving your head like that with the OneBlade? Thanks!

    • @rtbiscuit
      @rtbiscuit  5 лет назад +1

    • @rtbiscuit
      @rtbiscuit  8 лет назад

      I've gone back to my electric razor for my head. It's not as close as the Philips, bit shaving my head seems to blunt out the razor far faster than just shaving the face. Blade is supposed to last 4 months but I was finding it harder and harder to shave with it as I got to 1 month. Moved back to face only now and its fine.

    • @l00nbat
      @l00nbat 8 лет назад

      If you read the fine print on the box it states that the blade will last for up to 4 months based on 2 full shaves per week.

    • @l00nbat
      @l00nbat 7 лет назад +1

      Had one a few months now and still using the original blade. There's 2 hollow channels in the middle under the top blade which can be cleaned out as hair tends to clog them up. Pushing a needle with a thread attached though them gets rid of the accumulated stuff and helps the razor running at full speed.
      If you cant see light through them they need cleaning!

    • @youtumor360
