Lightning bugs as we know them....i so loved y'alls video...looks like you and the kids had so much fun...thank you for taking us along...we enjoyed the time as well...thank you again.
We called them lightening bugs growing. I remember catching them in a jar then releasing them when we were growing up. The three of you had such a nice time camping. What nice memories for you and your children.
Micah just caught some in a mason jar at our house the other day! It was a blessing to spend time with them and have lots of laughs off camera! Thanks for stopping by Nancy! ~Ryan
They are asking to go back, I think I might reserve Cades Cove campground next time. I love sleeping by the river, but would be fun to try a different spot! Thanks for stopping by Julie! ~Ryan
Glad you enjoyed coming along! It was a blessing to spend this time with them, and I hope they will enjoy having this video as a digital scrapbook to look back on someday! ~Ryan
The kids said it was too loud while they were sleeping, I LOVED it! I slept like a baby, moving to cots has been the best thing we have done when it comes to camping upgrades! -Ryan ruclips.net/video/_QF5irZcBQk/видео.html
What a great thing to do with the kids. They were having a ball. Now I want a hot dog and a smore over a campfire. Loved the river view. We call them lightening bugs.
We all really enjoyed it, they said it was hard for them to fall asleep that close to the river, but I slept like a baby! It was VERY peaceful! Always appreciate your feedback Valley Girl! ~Ryan
Hi again... WOW - looks like you guys had soooooooooooooo much fun. You are really a fun dad. We call them fireflys or lightning bugs, either one. Sometimes you get a surprise and see one or a few of them together at night. They are really beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this sweet vid. Have a fun evening Surie
I love documenting these moments & hope the kiddos will appreciate watching them someday. I would LOVE to be able to watch the camping & adventures I did with my dad. Brie & our oldest stayed home on this trip as they are not as excited about camping. 😁 Thanks for coming by again Kinderkrafts! ~Ryan
Hi again Ryan... These fun moments with you, will always be precious moments and memories that your children will treasure for a lifetime. Again thank you so much for sharing your fun camping trip and the buggies.
Brie is more into "glamping" 😁 so she stayed home with our oldest daughter who preffered to stay home with her on this trip. She came and saw the lightning bugs with us last year. Glad you enjoyed it, we have lots of exciting adventures planned coming soon! ~Ryan
Great video guy’s 👍 looks like the family had a great time! I use to live in Tampa FL myself and have family that still live there. I look forward to y’all next adventure! God Bless!
We have the same in the woods this time of year it's awesome to watch nature, great video guys, we're y'all close to where the bear tore into those peoples tent the other day, I would love to camp near the river, it's so peaceful, we call them lightening bugs
How far in advanced did you have to make your camping reservation and how did you know what date to book if you booked before they announced the optimal viewing dates? I've tried to get the lottery for a few years, but haven't been successful.
Great question! I intended to address this further on the video, so thanks for asking! This year the peak time was June 3-10. That time can change year to year, but typically 1st-2nd week of June range. LOTTERY - can be tough as they said in the video 39K applied and only 800 were selected. You can try when it opens up at the end of April typically. CAMPING - You can reserve a campsite up to 6 months in advance. I was trying to reserve a site exactly 6 months in advance & they would immediately book up. I just bookmarked the reservation URL and randomly checked throughout the day hoping for a cancelation and thankfully we got site B7 which was not far from F8 (where you see us push our bikes up the hill, next to the bridge). This is the URL I would utilize to reserve: www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232487 I hope all this helps you or whoever would like to attend this someday! ~Ryan
Lottery is not needed if you have a camping reservation. They are just hard to come by this time of year. I just kept checking the reservations daily until one was free. Our last home was in Dover right by Plant City! 🍓
Hi! What a great review! Thank you! We will be camping there for the Synchronous Fireflies. I see you guys took bikes to the spot to see the Fireflies. Is there a bike parking spot for the bike or can you take a bike with you where you sit and watch the Fireflies? Also do you know if you can go to trail for Fireflies viewing before the official viewing days? This year it will be from 6/4 - 6/11 but can you go see on the 6/3 or 6/12 if you are camping there? Sorry I have many questions!
We just set our bikes to the side of the trail. You could always lock them to tree if you wanted. Yes, you can go on the trail during the day year round so long as there is not a closure for some unforeseen circumstance. Feel free to ask any questions anytime, we are happy to help!
@@summerflower82 Awesome, we hope you have a great time! After we camped on this particular day, we drove over to Cade's Cove on a Wednesday which is only for bikes, it is a really neat experience. Here is a look at what that was like: ruclips.net/video/3apEWzfMIC4/видео.html
I believe they’re only certain areas were they’re prominent. It’s typically a certain week that they project much like a weatherman. I put a link in the description of the video that has more info on that.
seeing you guys in this beautiful place enjoying nature makes me want to go with my grandson.papa says no because of bears.depressing let's lay down and die .tell me there's no worry so I can tell him
There is a chance to have a bad run in with a shark if you go in the ocean, there is a chance to have a bad run in with a bear if you go into the woods. I think you can minimize the risk with properly storing you food for example. Getting outside moving & getting some Vitamin D can be fantastic for the brain/soul. Maybe starting with a small simple trail can be a great starting point to build some confidence with being outside. This is a great short hike: ruclips.net/video/y1jc_AX5n34/видео.html

@@AdventureIsOutThereThanks for the information. We’ve lived in Dover as well and love strawberries. There are 🍓 fields surrounding our current home.

Thanks Elizabeth! ~Ryan
So cool! If you have a campsite reservation but no lottery is that okay? or did you have both?
You need one of the 2, but not both.
Lightning bugs!! 😊. We called them that growing up, and I still call them the same name as an adult.
Being a Tampa Bay Lightning Fan since I was a kid, that's what I am going with too! 😁⚡ ~Ryan
Very very cool
It was a lot of fun!
How bad were the mosquitos??
Another great video. We live just outside Tampa in Plant City, small world. If you are camping, do you also need to win the lottery?
