    I am so glad I watched this before I started poking at the seams around the shoulders. My blazer has short sleeves, and I found my opening at the hem. Not even three inches of a window, but the shoulder pads came out so easily. Thanks!

    Thank you so much, perfect timing! I want to wear my old blazer that I’ve had since the 90’s because it’s warm wool but the pads look ridiculous so I thought I would google how to remove and there you are! The same EXACT Lauren blazer (although mine is camel)! Same process as yours & looks fabulous! I can now wear my fav blazer that’s been sitting for 25 years!🎉

    What a great video and the timing couldn’t be better. I have been downsizing, and I was going through clothes hanging in my attic yesterday. I found five great suits I wore when I was working. I am now retired, so no need for suits! But there are two suits 😅that I would like to keep. Shoulder pads need to come out! So, your method should work perfectly! Now I have to find out whether or not it makes financial sense to have the pants altered (too big), or just keep the jackets. Thanks much!

    This is exactly what I needed! I just found an old suit jacket with pads and one of them just doesn't look right. Like it's positioned wrong or they used the wrong one and it shows though a bit lumpy from the outside. I was scared by the fact that it's inside of the lining. I used to always take out shoulder pads back in the day for those easy-to remove ones because I already have wide straight-out shoulders and don't care for any more enhancement. A doctor once asked if I was a swimmer and that was a big "no" for this couch potato.

      Yeah I do have some videos where I do that or at least talk about it.You will need to take it the shoulder seam and possibly take in. the sleeve but you might be able to just ease it back in. Check out this video. ruclips.net/video/GHaFC_5NTw8/видео.htmlsi=qZK28FvPLPLN1adk

    Thank you for this! Do you have a video already of what you described as the "more work to do" to take in the shoulder after thick shoulder pads? I have a blazer that I love and got a great deal on, but it is both a little big in the shoulders and has big should pads, so I'm on the hunt for a parsimonious solution.

    Hi Anastasia! Guy who's learning to tailor at age 60 here! I love your videos and your teaching style! First attempt (on a practice coat) to take in the shoulders on a mens sport coat. I'm having an issue with missed stiches when sewing though the multiple layers of fabric and padding (reattaching top of sleeve to shoulder). Is there a special needle or thread you recommend? Just using a new all purpose needle and polyester thread. Thanks so much! I lost weight and got in shape, so this is a priority! :)

    Apparently my shoulder pads have been sewn in under the lining so the flipping didn’t reveal them. Is that typical?

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  4 месяца назад

      The shoulder pads should be under the lining. They where is this demo too. Thats why you need to seam rip the seam & get to the inside of the jacket.
