As someone who was 14 years old when pokemon blue and red came out and memorized the pokerap and everything, I always knew it was gen 2, and totally not forgettable. It was like a sneak peek at what gen 2 was going to offer. Gen 2 was pretty much planned during gen one, and was supposed to end with gen 2.
Togepi was always gen 2. I'm an older gamer than most (late 30's), but I remember the mystery around Togepi because of the anime. There were no official Pokedex for gen 1 that listed, and plenty of rumors running around about Fakemon and Yoshi and whatnot. Togepi stood out because it was a tease in the anime, like, "Haha, you can't get me (yet)!"
Yes! I am also pushing 40 years old myself and started with pokemon in the very beginning. I think only the people who did not start off with gen 1 would have been confused with that.

When you mentioned castforms hail form, I immediately remembered that it actually helped me beat Winona, because the combination of hail and weather ball made it an easy win against her Altaria. If it wasn’t for that, I probably would have forgotten it tbh.

Totally agree with Lugia's typing. When I was younger, I had it narrowed down to those three while trying to catch it, and still didn't know what types it was until I checked the PC.
I really liked Stantler when it was first introduced -- at that point in the game, your starter's most likely in its middle form, you've just gotten past Whitney and Sudowoodo, and here's this rare encounter that's a pretty beastly pure-Normal with Stomp (very powerful move at the time with a chance of causing a flinch) and confusion-based attacks. Granted, on the very next route you can encounter Tauros and Miltank, both slower but more powerful Normal-types that also have Stomp, so it doesn't stay impressive for long.... I thought it was cute when they brought it back with a Christmas skin in Pokémon GO though.
I honestly tried hard to have Carbink on my Kalos team. I was impressed by it's defensive stats but that little thing just didn't have the speed or power to keep up in competition. Same with Minior, it was cute and came in different colours but yeah, same issues.
Omg, yes, I also was suprised I came to the video just to see them as they are my favs and yet they did not show up... Or even elgyem and beheeyem, they're also really cool and forgettable as well
I only remember Stantler mainly because he was among my first ever pokemon cards, i still have his card because it was so valuable to me. He was part of my first ever Party and i will never forget him for it
When I saw forgettable Pokémon, I expected an actual list of Pokémon that people most forget exist, not very specific individual Pokémon or their weird typings
You gotta admit though, he went outside of the box with this. He does this is most of, if not all of his videos. I think it's too easy to go over a list of Pokemon and point out the ones that people have forgotten or are very obscure. There are countless videos like that and I think it's nice that he did something different. Besides, believe it or not, I actually DID forget some of the Pokemon on the list. The Raticate entry took me by complete surprise because I actually DID forget it. In response to the 2 responses to your comment, I don't think this aspect of the video is a "make it or break it" factor. If you're not into the nitty gritty (and honestly more diverse and interesting IMO), then click off of it(?). Like I said, there are probably HUNDREDS of videos like the ones you're looking for.

I always knew Togepi was from gen 2 and my mind was just blown when I found out that Klang is a pokemon and is the middle stage of Kling Klang and I was also shocked that Burmy evolves into Mothem, I thought they were two seperate pokemon.
Honestly I didn’t even know mothim existed until either I found a gap in my dex in Pokémon go or Pokémon home, or aDrive mentioned it in one of his videos

From the intro I just thought, I want a regional variant of Carnivine. I always loved his design but he wasn’t very useful. Maybe a pure poison type or a poison/fairy type with flowers blooming on him to represent the fairy part, but all dark colored from poison like it’s tainted. This would make it more resistant to poison attacks, but gain weaknesses to psychic, ground, and keep steel.
That beginning sketch kinda combined the Among Us meme with that business meeting meme where the boss loves the two obviously bad suggestions but when the third points out the obvious right call the boss glares at him and throws him through the wall and out of the building lmfao.
In my opinion Cresselia is the most forgotten pokemon. It only showed up once, and that was for a few slides in a pokemon movie where Darkrai appears in and Cresselia attacks Darkrai (I think-). In the games it only ever showed up once or twice, and even then it was so rare and forgotten nobody ever obtained it. ;-;
I think furfrou should be here, in the anime it was introduced in ep 5 or something and game freak decided to slap furfrou pointlessly during the kalos league.

How about for a more forgettable Pokemon? Like maybe the Beeheeyem line or the fish line from gen 4 I forget the name of... Beeheeyem because even Gamefreak forgot it (in gen 5 TM 25 was confuse ray but Steel Wing in gen 6, and it could learn it still in gen 6 most likely because they forgot). The gen 4 fish line because I can remember almost every single Pokemon in the game, but those two specific Pokemon.
A few more Maractus Lumineon and Fineon Keldeo...yes its very forgettable to me. I only remember it if i remember if i think about the other swords of justice

In my opinion Cresselia is the most forgotten pokemon. It only showed up once, and that was for a few slides in a pokemon movie where Darkrai appears in and Cresselia attacks Darkrai (I think-). In the games it only ever showed up once or twice, and even then it was so rare and forgotten nobody ever obtained it. ;-;

How about for a more forgettable Pokemon? Like maybe the Beeheeyem line or the fish line from gen 4 I forget the name of... Beeheeyem because even Gamefreak forgot it (in gen 5 TM 25 was confuse ray but Steel Wing in gen 6, and it could learn it still in gen 6 most likely because they forgot). The gen 4 fish line because I can remember almost every single Pokemon in the game, but those two specific Pokemon.
