If you keep removing the laces you can wear out the eyelets ! Its ok for cheap shoes but expensive ones i wouldn't do it have 1000+$ shoes changing laces ok

@@randymoran67 I am probably being a bit dumb here but surely expensive shoes should be built to last and, hence, eyelets should be able to withstand the removing of laces on a reasonably occasional basis, say once a week for a "full monty" shoe shine. To me, it is not a proper shine if part of the shoe, ie the tongue, is not being cleaned and polished. The chap did give the rest of the shoe a lovely shine.
