So I assume that's some sort of special shoe/saddle soap? It's looks real nice once wiped off
That's right, it is artisan soap that gently removes dirt and when absorbed by the shoe it does not damage the leather

Who wears Johnston Murphy's in italy?! Hell who wears them anywhere. Well i guess they are pretty durable and look decent when shined up. Just surprised they wear those in shoe capital of the world.
