This contrast of two different worlds of Nashville is known to all poor and middle class natives and long-term residents of Nashville. Being a native of this city, downtown is a now a foreign, bizarre, artificial area I no longer recognize. Transplants and tourists do not observe southern hospitality, so unless it's someone from here, I no longer bother going out of my way to show it. Respect and authenticity is down; cost of living is high. Nashville, a once beloved small city where everyone knew your name, is now lost to tourism filled with self-professed country folk, folks that are generally not from the countryside at all.

Nashville Unicorn here as well. Nashville is so rude that it reminded me of cities up north but with a traditional fascist rule of law that reminds someone they aren't up north. Tennesseeans are so afraid their neighbors are out-of-towners that they cease to think of neighbors as extended home folk, but aliens.
Nashville ceased to be Nashville sometime during Bill Haslam. Karl Dean was the last leader Middle Tennessee had that cared for all. Megan was just in it for clout. Bill H was just in it for government over-reach with Bill Lee taking over-reach even further.

its a fun city for tourists. People like to come to Broadway and drink. They dont bother you if you dont also go near broadway. Stop whining about it. Should be complaining about the crime increase and preventing democrats from doing destructive things like defunding the police.

I have asked homeless people if they wanted a job and they all say no. So why should I give them money when I offered them a way out
