I truly believe Connor's main issue was that he did not have a plan for when he achieved success. He had a vision of success, but no clue on what to do with his life when he achieved it.
I'm only 18 minutes into this documentary, but I already hit the like button, simply based on the huge amount of work it requires to put something like this together. Congratulations guys
I’ll never forget seeing his run in 2015 I was 17 at the time and it was so thrilling. It’s really shitty seeing someone who once was an absolutely dominant athlete fall so far
I remember being a child and watching McGregor fight Chad Mendez and Jose Aldo with my Dad. It was quite literally like nothing we’d seen before, he was a force to be reckoned with in every sense and absolutely became our favorite fighter as as proud Boston Irish folks. I remember vividly watching the Nate Diaz fights and the Alvarez fight and just marveling at this dude and his insane capacity for showmanship while remaining insanely humble in defeat. Conor in that time was brash and aggressive, but he was also funny and respectful. the mayweather fight and it’s insane buildup is really where I started to feel like something was really changing about his aura and presence and in the year that followed that feeling just grew and grew. I’m not a big Khabib fan personally and while I condemn Conor for all his actions in the buildup to their fight i feel far to many people portray Khabib as a saintly figure who was just standing up for himself when in reality he antagonized and talked just as much shit as Conor. The difference being Conor was doing a whole host of bad shit outside of the cage. After the Khabib fight, it was extremely hard for me to care for McGregors career because his actions outside the cage and lack of activity really really put me off. In a weird way, I almost dreaded his fights because I found it rather depressing what was going on with him. For a time, he was the greatest featherweight around and one of the greatest period, but things change and so do people. It’s incredibly disheartening to see someone who once represented hope and perseverance fall to their demons so severely and commit such horrible acts. Some part of me hopes someday he gets sober and attempts to truly attempt to atone for his sins, but I think we all know that’s extremely unlikely.
It happened to Mike Tyson, it happened to Michael Jordan, Floyd and the list go on and on . Once you reach greatness a lot of people would like to take a piece of the cake as well/

I remember the Mayweather vs McGregor event, my family are long time boxing fans and I’m a boxing fan as much as I am a mma fan, I love both sports, I remember McGregor fans really believing he could beat Mayweather, saying wild stuff like “I’m being generous but that fight is gonna last 4 rounds before McGregor wins.” I was a Conor fan too but he wasn’t going to beat one of boxing’s goat’s.
Mouthy irishman told you years ago exactly how classless he was on the mic and yall thought it was an act. "Money and success dont change people, they amplify what was already there." - Will Smith
You can’t right this guy off yet, he’s a lunatic and was from day one.. he’s crazy and talented enough to come back and do it again.. likely? Probably not.. possible? If anyone can.. it’s gotta be him
See how little people have watched this, this is a very well-respected RUclips channel.. I think it truly shows how done Conor McGregor is as a figure. People are just passed caring, other than the casual fans, but now thye are alienated because of his scandals outside of fighting. Hes done ..
I don't know for sure that this is what happened to him but there is a very high probability in my opinion. A completely normal man usually operates in a intellect over emotion way. That's how the majority of problems get solved. However, drug addicts or substance abusers in general. Their equation or method of approaching problems is completely changed. Everything has to go through the emotional process before it can ever come to reason. Obviously that leads to very poor emotional control and that's very dangerous in a man. Suddenly there's no impulse control, no emotional control. Everything is a party for a while until it's not. Add that to stress and training, concussions over the years of his career. Drugs tend to deteriorate some soft tissues and surpress hormone production. That of course is a huge issue in practically every way.
Appreciate the video and the hard work that went into this, thank you. That version of McGregor is long gone but his rise from welfare checks to double champ status was fun to watch.
He was on top of the world after Aldo and that second belt. You could see the bad guy coming on before the Aldo fight, but you sum it up to hyping the fight, which worked. I think for one, the loss to Nate Diaz, changed something in him. 2 - Money. From his start to his hiatus, the was a slow but steady change in who he was. Losing 4 (5 if you include Mayweather) of his last 7 fights, everyone knew, the training wasn't there, the focus wasn't and just his time in general. The money, the fame, the booze and I have no proof, but there other things going on in his system that were illegal. Having fun, traveling, buying big fancy cars, movies and you can just list everything that took him away. But the worst part, it turned him into a terrible person. Sucker punching old men, slamming people's phones, not to mention his jail stays and court cases, one of which he just lost. It was like watching Jon Jones back then, so much talent and he started throwing it away. I think his prime is gone, even though a fight card with Conor in it, will still bring the big money. He should just do money fights in boxing and running the companies he has bought into. It's sad, and I say that as someone who is in no way a fan, I can't deny where he was, what he accomplished in that period of time. If he kept his head on, I feel like he could have moved another weight, won more belts and made even more money. I'm not trying to argue or fight with anyone, just giving my opinion from a fighters perspective. He did what we all wanted to do.
Sad how sporadic he was towards the latter end of his career. Though that guy shawn brighter than perhaps anyone will in a combat sport. We love to hate him now, we all loved him when active. He will retire and leave the sport better than it was, what more can we as fans ask for?
Why should they worry? The man had a major influence on the fight game. They are just going over his career and the feelings people had over his rise. They talk all about his awful shit as well.

Man, the amount that money can change people...
He also said that once he made generational money he won't give af anymore. His family is set for life. He don't care anymore
His trainer said he had to drag him out of the bar to train even before he was any good. So no. Money doesn't ruin people, just exposes them
