    To be fair GSP made the right decision. As we have seen fighters fight way past their prime and take unnecessary damage.

      @@beaualoevvthen every goat is overrated. Jon Jones is about to retire, he is gonna leave without fighting the interim holder(which is an obligation that the champ needs to fight the interim when healthy)does that mean he's scared of Tom? Ofc not. Im not even a Jon Jones fan but he definitely isn't scared of Tom. Does him retiring mean he's scared? Does that mean he can no longer be top 3?

    Dan Henderson vs Carlos Newton is one of those fights where you have to go back and watch it again. Under the modern criteria Newton would have absolutely won, it's very similar to the argument that people make for Randleman versus Rutten. But a punch delivered by Newton broke Henderson's jaw in this fight and he basically had to rely on his wrestling. Under different scoring criteria it is undoubtable that Carlos Newton would have become Canada's first and only Tournament Champion 🏆🇨🇦

    • @mynameisnotbob6369

      If the newton fight happened after the 90s he would have won

    • @canadianbacon9819
      @canadianbacon9819 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@mynameisnotbob6369 Agreed. This was around the aforementioned period where they started to emphasize more points for grappling, which is why it's odd that they scored the fight at UFC 20 for Rutten (though I can see how they did even back then due to Randleman's inactivity after round one). The judging criteria saw another change in standards after 1990s as ur mentioned. And again most recently this year. Regardless if it was about damage back then, Henderson shouldn't have won that fight. Carlos Newton's record is also deceiving, it does not reflect what type of martial artist he was, he often faced men much bigger than he was and also fought many of the best in his era.

    Hendo did defend his Pride belts so thats abit of a lie, the UFC marketed his middleweight and light heavyweight shots as unification bouts.

    Jon Jones faked his injury out of fear, Stipe would have dropped him like Stipe has dropped everyone else

    At this point (casuals aside) Jones HAS to run! I cannot call jones the “best heavyweight ever” even if he beats stipe…but won’t fight Tom. If, however, he heals, beats stipe, then beats Aspinall for a retirement fight….ill call him king.

    Rather vanish than lose on your first title defense

      That's the problem. Many fighters are afraid to lose. They don't have the balls to handle a loss. They rather run like a b@@2h than lose like a man.
